There's nowhere near enough enemies on screen. I'm a bit surprised that people are taking this game so seriously. Nothing in the game was ever meant to be meaningful beyond Tons of Enemies, and Holy Crap More Enemies. It was fun then, and it'll still be fun now.
I wonder the point of rehashing a relatively game into the HD era without any revisions in terms of gameplay/storyline/levels. Sure enough, I have played that game on a resolution of 1024*768 about 4-5 years ago, and I am being presented with the same levels, same weapons, same enemies... etc
Is there enough of a nostalgia factor to revive a game which I would consider a pretty time waster and nothing more? By today's standard, you could pick up the club or fifty cent:blood in the sand and have a better looking, more enjoyable experience. I'm not even counting juggernauths like halo 3 which can be found for less than 15 pounds in most shops.
1) Not everyone has played this game
2) Whole new group of people to co-op with, all of whom will 99 percent likely have headsets this time around
3) Likely a price 20 or under for a pretty large game
4) And yes, updated graphics
@(Zombie) Komrade Kayce: I remain sceptical about it. if you were telling me Half life 1 was coming to nxt gen consoles with updated graphics, i'd be much more willing to part with my money. :)
@Billkwando bought his tickets for Hyde's US tour: Really? I still fire up Serious Sam every now and then, and besides Doom and Doom 2, it is still one of the only FPS games that provides a real "OMG TOO MANY ENEMEEZ" type of adrenaline rush.

Hm. I liked Serious Sam a lot - The First Encounter is easily one of the best FPS games of the decade - but this doesn't look all that better to me in comparison to how the original looked, save for some pretty damned impressive lighting.
That being said, I am quite unashamedly a consumer whore and I'll probably end up buying it anyway for the PC and the 360.
I thought, looking at the title, that this was being handled by Shiny.
Which had me excited at first, as I loved Earthworm Jim and Wild 9, but then I remembered how far they have fallen with games like Enter the Matrix and The Golden Compass.
8 player Co-Op in Duke Nukem 3D and Marathon XBLA got a bit too crowded for me (still awesome fun). I was hoping this game would support 8 player Co-Op because it would be open enough and have enough baddies to make it the best 8 player Co-Op FPS on 360...but it seems like it's only going to be 4-players Co-Op. That, and there is no split-screen.
Personally I would have taken these things over the fancier graphics. Though I could be the only one...
Please tell me that were getting the crazy 16 player coop madness in the XBLA version.
That was my favorite part about Sam on the PC. Hectic amounts of enemies and chaos going all around. Only way to play.
@Magnum1024k: Oh god, that would be awesome. Voice chat and XBL parties merged with retroQuake/Doom style blasting, and in the form of a relatively cheap XBLA release so its not hard to convince the rest of your friends list to buy it (and download it that minute!). This is perfect.
I remember playing this game when it first came out and I can say that honestly, HD is only an incremental graphics boost. The game looked amazing when it first launched so this isn't to much OMG SUPERZ UPGRADEZED!!!
Seriously
@patapon: See, the idea of HD at the base level is resolution, and we as PC gamers have been playing games at and well beyond 720p since long before there were ever any notion of such a thing (hell, I recall playing Heretic 2 (1998) at 1280x1024/32-bit on a Pentium 2 300MHz running a Voodoo 3 2000 PCI card). This would be why "HD" doesn't really do much by comparison. However, there are some things that come with the HD generation that you won't find in older-gen games. Hell, look at the Source engine when it first started out with CS: S and HL2 and compare that to Left 4 Dead. L4D isn't a terribly detailed game, but it sure does look very pretty, and incorporates many "HD" features.
Things that are implied by "HD" aside from resolution are things like HDR lighting, volumetric lighting, high-resolution detail textures, high polygon counts with bump mapping and shaders to modify surface reflections and so on when wet / called for, ambient occlusion, soft particles, colour correction, pretty much implicit anti-aliasing/anisotropic filtering, more realistic physics models for both gameplay and particle effects, more on-screen effects, more on-screen entities (vegetation, enemies, etc), better animations, etc. Soon, with DX11, we'll be seeing things like tessellation to further improve and perhaps modify in real time the number of polygons and general shape of a 3D model, along with Compute Shaders to let the graphics card(s) take care of general processing tasks (basically, standardized CUDA).

The greatest movie ever made in the history of the universe will have the following songs in its soundtrack:
1) this "Requiem for a Dream" song
2) that ending to "Gladiator" song

Not to rag on the trailer, but the song has become played out. At least, in my opinion, it has lost its "epic" quality.
