I am appalled that Toejam & Earl music does not make an appearance on the Vinyl bonus.

I mean, really. Where's my awesome early nineties hip-hop?

@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: interesting, as they are as alive as ever, my brother has 2 turn tables and frequents a vinyl shop regularly with the newest albums available.

Yeah, turn tables. They're used quite a bit and readily available for order.

Heaven forbid you give this record to a scratch artist though. I would KILL you.

Vinyl records are regularly sold in lost of record stores again. There's been a resurgence in popularity in Vinyl, no doubt using it as a way to bribe people into buying albums again.

@Mommar: What I don't understand is kids these days thinking it's "cool" to own a vinyl collection. I understand old farts who keep them around for nostalgia sake, but kids born in the tape, or CD era thinking they're cool? C'mon kids, get out of your tight girl pants and cut your hair! Now THAT would be cool.

Ive accepted that America won't ever get the cool bundles, pre order bonuses etc. Because they know we'll just buy it anyway.

@c0mbobreaker: We get cool preorder bonuses for other things...

As far as Sega goes... I don't think they've ever done a preorder bonus. Ever.

As far as who gets what... ranked in order of best to worst:

Japan > US > UK > Everywhere else.

Japan of course gets a bonus for everything... or at least nicer bonuses than the US. The US gets bonuses, but they're usually only a part of what Japan got. The UK doesn't get many preorder bonuses, but they're usually the same as the US ones when they get them. Everywhere else (Australia included) they don't usually get anything in the way of preorder bonuses. In other words, yes, I could whine that the US preorder bonuses are usually only a soundtrack or an artbook when in Japan they get the soundtrack, artbook, a huge sack of money, a car, and 5,000 faceplates, but... at least we get anything at all here.

    And I do believe Australia is very much deserving of such a neat bonus... however, my only issue with this bonus at all is... does anyone even have a turntable anymore? ^^;;

@Takara_Kitsune: Bzzzt. Sega of America has done numerous pre-order and mail-in bonuses, from free speakers to music CDs to assorted trinkets. Of course, it's not on the same level as Japanese stuff, but far from being dismissed as not "ever [doing] a preorder bonus."

@DePaulBlueDemon: It's definitely neat looking, but a vinyl record featuring just six songs I have available elsewhere isn't _that_ exciting enough for me to want to buy yet another quickie Genesis ROM rehash.

It's obviously going to be stretched. These are emulators afterall. The only alternative is if it's cropped, and that would suck even more ass than stretching. Give me the pillar boxing please.

Oh wait, I'm not buying this piece of shit anyway.

That blurry filter makes it almost impossible for me to play the Live arcade version of the Sega games. I suck more with it turned on.

It blows my mind to see that you guys are still managing to bicker about the graphics filter after it was announced that it's an optional feature... If you like it, use it. If you don't, you won't have to.

Please bring us CASTLE OF ILLUSION starring Mickey Mouse: it's such a classic and I am sure there are many gamers out there that have wonderful childood memories of it just as I do but it never appeared on any retro compilation or even the Virtual Console.

Geez, I hate playing games stretched. This drives me nuts on the PSP when a lot of classic game comps either default to the widescreen setting and/or don't let you change it...

I'm ok with blocky scaling-- that retains the charm-- but stretching is definitely ALSO an option that needs to be toggled on and off!

I noticed the same thing on the Sega Genesis Collection for the PS2. Turning the mode on makes the game less pixely but more blurry. I left it off. The pixels are part of the nostalgia anyways.
