I think what we got with the new Fable II DLC is the ending of Fable II and the beginning of Fable III all in one small interactive cinematic. As it's implied that your hero in Fable II is sort of an asshat of a king/queen, it could be a story about a child rising against his own father/mother. But whatever the story, I am pretty sure it's going to still start us as a child -- the difference being this time you'll start as the child of the Hero you played in the second game.
from what i remember from the cinematic: theresa says you command soldiers, where they will follow you to death and some alread have, then she skips to the throne and says this is where you have made decisions that have had huge impacts and shaped albion to what it is. so from what i got the next fable could possible have some sort of RTS or "Overlord" type of thing where you lead an army or group of soldiers/thugs.
@Milkzhakes: You're reading too much into it. They arent going to jump genres or totally change the gameplay. That would be insane. I for one greatly dislike RTS games. If Fable 3 had major RTS elements the chances of me buying it drop by about 100%
@parad0x360: It's possible that this could just be an alternate option to play through the game. Either get into all the nitty-gritty yourself, or just command an army to do it for you! :D
On commenter on the Lionhead Spoiler forum mentioned that Aurora could be "America" to Albion's "England".
Considering the world of Fable II is on the brink of major industrial tech (guns, submarines, whatsits and whosits), I could see Fable III getting all colonial.
Which would then kind of tie into those random project screen shots of a plane crash of "america's" Airforce One just outside of DC...
But then again, no one could have predicted the time jump of Fable II, and Reaver had a profound effect on Albion too though we never got to play him while he did it.
Does it come with the label" Warning: If RROD occurs, you are out a nice 360 case" ? Do you lose the autographed case to some schmo at the MS refurb repair depot? (you know, like that kid with custom-art case and autographs?)
A lot of people seem to think that Molyneux overhypes his games, i disagree. To me it seems like the man just never lost his childish enthusiasm, his way of being passionate about his job, his way..of the ninja, if you will.
It's almost like you can see his eyes sparkle and his smile never dimms when he announces something. This man takes pride and joy in his work and sugercoats it in some ego, Bravo.
He does good work, and will continue to do so for some time.
Thanks for a positive comment, it can be a real rarity these days.
You make a great observation about Molyneux and his obvious passion for development. I would much rather have some pie-eyed dreamer spouting outlandish comments than yet another jaded and cynical hipster dev desperately trying to remain relevant as he clings to some commodified notion of "street-cred". One thing I have to give Molyneux credit for is his consistency. One of my major pet peeves is flip floppers, because they simply can't be trusted. With Peter Molyneux you know what to expect...great games that are fun to play.
Molyneux may make questionable games as far as promise and delivery, but they are always unquestionably fun. You can't really blame the man if you buy into the hype too much now can you? If you consistently believe everything he says then...well, I've got a pair of pants for sale. They spray ice cream (your choice of flavor) out of the fly and the pockets are always filled with $100 bills. It'll only cost you $50,000 to own a pair. So get in touch, I'll hook you up. Just don't be disappointed when they don't quite live up to your expectations.
"While I can't talk about it fully now, this autograph will accomplish thing previously unheard of in the realm of merchandising signatures. This signature will evolve over time to match your playing style. From cursive, to print, or even kanji -- this autograph will revolutionize game designer calligraphy as we know it."

Either way, i'm interested.

Will I go to jail for playing this?
In all seriousness though, Fable 2 is fairly new. I don't think hinting towards 3 will be all that interesting. More DLC would work for now.

That sounds soooooooooo wrong.
Oh God, forgive me, wash away the malice in my thoughts.

Oh perhaps its going to go to an RTS spin-off.
FABLE WARS!
