Always the same story..."we listened to feedback", "It won't suck this time". Seriously, most of the times, movie games suck not because the developers are bad at what they do, but because they don't have enought time. Unless the mentality that the game has to launch with the movie goes away, or they start working on the game waaaaaaay earlier (don't they start pre-production on those films years before?), I don't see the movie games scenario changing.

@ShadowOdin isn't american: I didn't mind it in the Adventure series. I mean, Sonic Adventure 2 was great and gave a reason for that crap. But, since the Adventure series, I think only the Dimps games have excluded humans. Yet, it's always been implied that humans are somewhere in the background in the Sonic universe, destroying forests to build Starlight Zones... :P
@gold163 (° д° ): I never liked the humans. They always seemed malplaced to me. And I disagree, because SA2 could've managed itself without them. Story was crap, after all.
To me, the ideal Sonic-world was always SatAM. It always made the most sense.
The sad thing is the game could fix everything conceivably wrong with the first title but despite having a big name movie/comic license, it'll still struggle against all the heavy weights getting pushed into 2010 as it is. Funny how studios seemingly learn from last year's mistake only to create an entirely new problem.
The controls are based on the top 20 games out there?? in other words, Ironman 2 is an FPS set on Resort Island?? That would actually be better than what the game will turn out to be
@excel_excel: That remark set off alarm bells bor me, too. How is that even possible? Answer: It's not, and if a company that knows their game has perception problems sends someone to to spout that kind of corporate nonsense, it doesn't bode well.
@excel_excel: Paraphrase: You didn't like it when we tried to do something different (God you're stupid), so now its going to be a clone of everything else out there, since that's all you seem to want, you chattering monkeys.
Yeah. That's what I got from his statement. Thanks for not being condescending. I'll be sure to buy your game over Bioshock 2, God of War III, Heavy Rain...
@glassdevaney: Agreed. Also where he says "The good news is that everyone in the known universe told us what was wrong with the first game" its like he's complaining. well yeah they bloody should have told you becayse it was crap
this could go either way. I think the biggest issue is that it's a flying super hero. it's very difficult to make a game like that fun. Although in Japan, they have flying robot 3rd person games all the time and they do pretty well over there. I dunno... Probably play the demo and go from there.
That game did, indeed, suck. And I actually bought it back when I was 19, too.
But the Superman game that came out with Superman Returns wasn't bad. It had it's issues, like no collateral damage in massive battles between super powered beings, but the one thing they did absolutely great was the flight.
Flying though the air in that game really made you feel like Supes. Especially getting going real fast, watching the shock wave from the sonic boom roll off your shoulders, and watching the contrails off your cape combining with the dust on the ground and you blow through Main Street, Metropolis at speeds faster than a speeding bullet... That was some damn good fun there.
@Showmeyomoves!:
I played the PS3 demo as well, and I thought (and I realize I'm probably he minority here) that the controls were awesome. But, then again, I prefer higher level of control to simple-and-dumb controls.
@vr0oM: And really, is it that hard to conceive? The top 20 games use A as the jump button...lets make A the jump button. Rt Trigger fires in most games...lets make rt the fire button....
@D Mitsuki : Gotta have guts kid!: You would also think it common sense that a games company with as much experience as Sega ought to have a competent enough team, a sense of videogames and how to produce them, and enough quality testing to not make such a lacking game in the first place. They shouldn't need millions of people to point out obvious flaws, but at least they're learning from it.
@Crude-Symbology: Most of Sega's studios are MIA. Sega used to have a ton of development houses. Now everything seems contracted to new studios with Sega publishing.
I don't know how it got to this point. Everything past 2001 is a blur. :/
@Kobun: Oh Sega, where did you go wrong?? It's that damned Sony with their Playstation 2 again, isn't it? I'd kick their ass, but I just love Metal Gear Solid 2 too much! Don't hate me!

@KillerBee: My favorite part of the game was how the AI was so poor that if you stood RIGHT in front of them, like, in throw range, they would literally do nothing: They couldn't shoot you, but they didn't back away. It would turn the troopers (or tanks) into dolls, just waiting for whatever it was you were going to do.
@D Mitsuki : Gotta have guts kid!: "Oh gosh, my real life is so boring, all I do is fly around using the little rocket boosters in my high-tech suit and shoot tanks and shit with rockets and save the world. I think I'm going to go play video games."
@KeeganTheBrain: The visuals of the first were pretty good too. I'm glad to see that they are addressing all issues, from the core problems (controls) to issues that affected how fun it was (gameplay objectives).

Get out of here.
These guys should be put in charge of Team Sonic so that they could realize Team Sonic needs to be disbanded for ever and ever.

But this is not 2003. Someone needs to take Sonic Team out back and put it out of its misery.
