Sanzaru increased textures, ge4ometry, and basically tweaked the numbers to make the PS2 version of Secret Agent Clank a bit more of a full PS2 game than its handheld inspiration. Between the slightly more polished look and dual analog control, it could very well be even better than the original.

You can find out for yourself today; Secret Agent Clank for the PS2 is heading to store shelves as we type.

<![CDATA[Yup, Secret Agent Clank Is Coming To The PS2]]> It was rumoured that Secret Agent Clank would be making its way from the PlayStation Portable to the PlayStation 2. And you know what? It is. Sony have today confirmed it.

It'll be out on May 26. Sanzaru Games will be handling the port, with the only noticeable changes being a slight jump in the quality of the visuals and the return of the lock-strafe camera mode, which the poor little PSP controls couldn't manage.

<![CDATA[Secret Agent Clank Also Getting The PSP To PS2 Treatment?]]> Looks like Sony will be bringing former PSP exclusive Secret Agent Clank to the PlayStation 2, one those 70 games coming to the last-gen PlayStation, according to a new listing from GameFly.

Ratchet & Clank fans may remember the previous PSP outing, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters also went from the PlayStation Portable to the PlayStation 2 about a year after it first hit. The existence of the PS2 version was revealed via a similar retail listing at GameStop with an official announcement arriving one month later.

GameFly shows the PS2 version landing in May.

If true, Secret Agent Clank will join PSP hits like Silent Hill Origins, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories as up-ported once-exclusives. It will also mean one more title stealth announced by GameFly, who excels at revealing games prior to official announcements.

We're checking in with Sony to see if they feel like confirming the game's existence.

<![CDATA[Clank Figure Acts As Bait For Game Purchase]]> For all the series' popularity, especially with the wee ones, it's a wonder nobody at Sony ever thought to cash in on it all by licensing out some Ratchet & Clank action figures. Who knows, one day, they might. Til then, this'll have to do! GameStop are running a preorder promo where if you throw some cash down on Secret Agent Clank for the PSP, you'll get one of these Clank figures. I haven't heard the nicest of words about the game, but I can vouch for the niceness of that figure! Adorable.

<![CDATA[Here's Clank's Intro]]> I was about to let this one fly completely under my radar. Then I go and see this, and remember just why Ratchet & Clank games are so great (even when they're not done by Insomniac). It's the charm. In case you missed it last night, Secret Agent Clank's out June 12.

<![CDATA[Secret Agent Clank Dated]]> The Official PlayStation Blog takes us behind the scenes at the gala casino night event held last week in honor of the impending release of Ratchet's robot buddy's first solo adventure, Secret Agent Clank for the PSP. Members of the San Francisco-based media were shown a brief presentation on the game and allowed to get their paws on it before retring to the gambling tables for some good old-fashioned James Bond style blackjack action. While looking at photos of the gaming press get drunk and play cards is fascinating and all, the big news here is the release date for the game. Clank strikes out on his own on June 17th, and judging by the series' first foray onto the PSP, we're more than likely in for a hell of a good time, even if it is mostly Lombax free.

<![CDATA[PSP Getting "Unique" Games, "Very Unique"]]> The PSP really seems to on a role of late, doesn't it? Don't fret! Sony says that's not going to stop anytime soon. According to Sony marketing manager John Koller, later this year the PSP will see some "very unique" titles with a focus on "franchise umbrellas." That's not including Final Fantasy: Crisis Core and Secret Agent Clank. All hype and hot air? Or does Sony really have some "very unique" in store?

<![CDATA[Secret Agent Clank Cinema and Gameplay]]>
I am always glad to hear another Ratchet and Clank is coming down the pike. I loved Size Matters and still think it's one of the best looking games on the PSP. Hopefully, this one can live up to it.

This time around, Clank gets the titular role as he sets out to rescue his good friend Ratchet from his fate in prison. What did Ratchet do to land in such hot water? Watch and find out! Make the jump for a little bit of gameplay as well.

<![CDATA[Secret Agent Clank Trailer]]>

I loved Size Matters, so I expect Secret Agent Clank will also blow my socks off. The clip looks promising too, though I'm going to miss Ratchet.

<![CDATA[Secret Agent Clank Coming To PSP]]> Just as Ratchet from the Ratchet & Clank series of PlayStation games was given a spotlight role in Ratchet Deadlocked, it appears his robotic sidekick will be on the receiving end of his own spin-off. One of the surprising and unannounced titles making an appearance at the Sony media event in Tokyo this evening was Secret Agent Clank, a PSP game featuring the fictional adventures of the bot who's half-backpack, half-gadget stuffed mystery.

The game was rumored to be in development at High Impact Games—creator of Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters for the PSP—earlier this year. While we don't have any official screens of the game yet, we expect it will be on the TGS show floor and hope to get some hands-on time with it.
