<![CDATA[First GTA: Chinatown Wars Screens [Updated]]]> On Thursday, McMike slipped you a batch of details from Nintendo Power regarding Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, which will be a bona fide M-rated sandboxer for the Nintendo DS when it drops (sometime before Feb. 2009) Well, Gamekyo (formerly JeuxFrance) has the November edition of the magazine in its possession, and five screenshots. If you'll excuse the halftone screen, which fuzzes up the graphics, you can get an idea of the cel-shaded graphics and isometric camera angle. All seven are in a gallery on the jump.

UPDATE: Nintendo Everything has shit-tons more screens at better resolutions. They lead the gallery.

<![CDATA[Get Out Your Air Guitar, New Wii Music Screens]]> Like Ashcraft said, "And so, it begins" We got some new Wii Music screenshots to fuel your harmonic needs. Soon you will be able to rock out with your Mii and your friends looking, well, ridiculous. To be honest, I am so torn on this. I want to love this game because with the right combination of friends - including Owen drunk - Wii Music could be a lot of fun. It just feels like there is something missing - other than the fake plastic instrument.

<![CDATA[UPDATE: New Socom: Confrontation Screens]]> For your viewing pleasure we have some Socom: Confrontation screenshots. Hey at least come October you won't have to play the game your knees. Maybe this is a bad batch of scans but these screens well, don't look very PS3 like. Regardless, the game will focus on online play and like most Socom games, should be a blast.

Update: We contacted Sony Computer Entertainment of America earlier today after some of you noted that the images appeared to be old. SCEA just told us that in fact they are at least six months old. The images were all accidentally placed on the Leipzig press disc and their press site as new images by accident. Sorry for the misinformation.

<![CDATA[Nearly 150 Screenshots of Fallout 3 Leaked]]> Although I probably should leave anything in Japanese to Bash, pictures speak any language, and there are nearly 150 of them of Fallout 3 that have hit the Internet following the Zenimax Asia expo (Zenimax owns Fallout developer Bethesda.) Tipster Brother None, the forum admin over at No Mutants Allowed, writes: "Apparently the people viewing Fallout 3 in the ZeniMax Asia showing in Taiwan did not take their NDAs very seriously." Apparently so. We have a gallery of 28 screenies on the jump, with a link to the entire set.

<![CDATA[Fracture: Here Is Fracture]]> You can generally tell how much a company is pushing a game at a trade show by the amount of assets they make available for it. Having said that, here are three screenshots of Fracture, a game that was briefly presented by LucasArts between The Clone Wars and Force Unleashed, as if to say here...you're going to have to watch this if you want to get to the good stuff. There wasn't much new information on Fracture. It's still a global conflict that pits two forces against each other using terrain restructuring weaponry, a feature that set last year's E3 on fire but this year was just sort of there. I guess I'm just not all that excited about the title as it stands, especially when they sandwich it between two hefty doses of Star Wars, as if it were an intermission or something. Anyway, here is Fracture.

Update: Missed in my rather lackluster view of the game, LucasArts did reveal the all-new DC environment in the preview, frosted with snow. It's lovely, sure, but doesn't take away from my overall meh feeling. Perhaps the letdown from TimeShift - another shooter with an innovative mechanic - just has me wary.

<![CDATA[Tomb Raider Underworld Gets Web Site, Release Date]]> Eidos yesterday launched an official Tomb Raider: Underworld Web site and sent out a couple more screenshots, including the one above. More importantly, it confirmed the game is due out in November for the 360, PS2, PS3, DS, Wii and PC. Screenshots and other discussion follow the jump.

A description of the game from the official Tomb Raider site:

"For generations, stories have been told of the fearsome weapon of Thor, the Norse god of thunder. Legend holds that Thor’s hammer had the power to smash mountains into valleys and to destroy even the gods. For more than a thousand years it has existed only as a myth ... until now.

In an ancient ruin on the floor of the Mediterranean Sea, Lara Croft uncovers proof of the Norse underworld and the mythical hammer. As she attempts to unravel the secrets behind these myths, Lara’s perilous journey leads her toward a forgotten power that, if unleashed, could lay waste to all civilization."

Well, I know that Kotaku intern Adam Barenblat had a harrowing run-in with a Norse mythology course at the University of Colorado this past semester. So that probably ruins this game for him. And if we're dealing with the Norse underworld, I sure as hel hope it doesn't involve this sailing vessel. That's just gross.

Here are the screens at the largest size I could grab 'em. Also, on the official site, you can grab an mp3 of the new game's official theme. Not sure how new that is, but it's pretty swrrt, wish more would do that.

<![CDATA[Not So Alone In The Dark Anymore]]> It's nice to see some more of the characters that are appearing in Atari's relaunch of Alone In The Dark. Up until now I swear that every bit of media I've seen was either showcasing the physics or just showing me scary things shrouded in darkness. Now it looks and feels a bit more like an adventure game to me.

Not a 1920-ish Alone in the Dark adventure, but an adventure game nonetheless. Check out the gallery below and see if the picture of Edward hanging halfway off a building ledge is as unintentionally hilarious to you as it was to me.

<![CDATA[New Screenshots: Halo Wars and Mafia II]]> Gamercenteronline begged and pleaded and got its hands on three screens for Halo Wars, the real-time strategy prequel still under a TBA release date for this year. One looks like a close crop of a Sparrowhawk that we've done before. Not sure what exactly is going on in the other two.

Loitering around the site I also found what they touted as a new Mafia II screenshot. You can catch everything after the jump

The Mafia II screenshot is said to be set in DeLuca's Restaurant, even though this is clearly a warehouse shot. Not sure if that's a level title or not. But that's Vito, and it looks like he's about to waste a competitor.

And here are the other two Halo Wars shots.

Looks like some serious Chitty-Chitty Bang-Bang action in the first shot. Another after the jump. Click on them for full size.

<![CDATA[A First Look at Gauntlet for the DS]]> gauntlet-20080404033012010.jpgGood morning, campers. Thought we'd start the day off with some screenshot candy and a pointer to the first look at Gauntlet for the Nintendo DS. IGN's got the goods on the classic cooperative dungeon crawler, which introduced "Warrior ... is about to die!" into our inside-joke lexicon back in 1985.

Obviously, Gauntlet's addictive gameplay remains the same as the coin-op and its spinoffs, with upgraded enemies and AI. Graphics naturally are state of the art for the DS. But the real two-dot-oh for this Gauntlet, IGN reports, will be in the multiplayer, will full Wi-Fi support for linking up to three mates and the ability to talk to them over a mike. Everybody, all together now, "Elf needs food!"

<![CDATA[Japanese Fragile Website Gets Update]]> The last time we reported about Namco's mysterious Fragile, they had just released a teaser trailer and shortly before that, a single paged website. Since then, the site has been updated with a few more pages (all in Japanese) and more importantly, a recent gallery of some really nice looking screenshots. The dilapidated carnival shots remind me a bit of Silent Hill 3 with the creepy pig replacing the bloody pink bunny. It's still kind of hard to tell what this is going to be all about, but if the gameplay and story match up with the quality of the graphics, this promises to be a must have title for the Wii.

To access the screenshot gallery, after the intro plays (or you skip it) look at the top of the page and you'll see a menu of Japanese characters. The one with the red letters above it that says "new" will take you to the screenshot gallery.

<![CDATA[Costly Kwari Screenshots]]> Late last month I wrote about Kwari, an FPS coming out from a company of the same name that involves players putting up real money that they win or lose by shooting other players during matches. All we had to show you back then was some concept art, but now Kwari has released some twenty screenshots into the wild. My opinion? Looks to be about what you'd expect from a title trying to revolutionize competitive gaming. Hardly beautiful, but it should run smooth enough to keep people from complaining over money lost due to lag kills.
