@-MasterDex-: Actually, now that you mention it. I remember a no damage OoT run back in the day and the only time the guy got damaged was after beating Ganon for the vid, he ran back to Kakariko and got killed by Cuccos of Mass Destruction.
Ganon? Didn't he try to establish the Gerudo Desert in Iraq or was that Saddam?

I havent gone back home in a while and last time I checked in 07, it was around RM300 (more or less $100) for a standard copy of a new game.
Also, is there such a thing as getting old games for lowered prices or are the prices pretty much the same? When a game decreases in price (Greatest hits, Dev discretion etc), do the prices there reflect this?
How about the used games market? I know there are rentals set up but the used games market was basically non existent when I was there. Perhaps because it was new and no one could afford it yet.
I need to go to lowyat.net a lot more from now on.#modernwarfare2
@Save me: I'd only been in Malaysia for about a year and a half, and I never saw any rentals or even used games for sale. The options seemed like they were either to buy the expensive legit copies, or get the really cheap pirated copies. Most people got the pirated ones. #modernwarfare2
All of it is legit since you cant pirate games for it. I guess youre talking about the other two consoles. I'm not surprised that people opted for the pirated copies because of how rampant it is over there.
Here's a summary of how gaming started in Malaysia up to now:
90s: We had systems called microgeniouses which were NES knockoffs. While the rest of the world moved on to SNES and played on their Genesis, we had this console to play with and all the carts sold with it were compilations of 100+ games in one. You could get bubble bobble, TMNT 3 the Manhattan project, Tmnt fighters and SMB1/2/3 all in one cart.
2000: Pirates managed to sell consoles/games in the malls and no one regulated these, since we didnt have chain game stores like Gamestop. Up until now, all the games stores back home are still like the mom and pop stores here in the US. During this time the PS1 was really popular compared to the other consoles. I for one had a Saturn at this point and got a PS1 later on.
2003: Pirates managed to sell modded PS2s and each disc was about $5. At this point, people still sided with Sony consoles, since most people migrated from their PS1 days. For every 1000 kid that had a console, at most 10 of them would have a GCN or an Xbox.
2007: Now, it's only possible to mod the Wii and the 360, but since Sony has had somewhat of a strong presence in the market, most kids asked their parents to shell out for the PS3. I haven't been back home for a while so I cant comment on which system is preferred. But given the pic above and the comments from other Malaysians, it seems that Sony is still making the console of choice for Malaysians.
So, pirates have always been a prominent figure for Malaysian gamers. I wouldnt be surprised if some parents got the modded 360/Wii consoles for their children since the price of the games are just like those from the previous generations. #modernwarfare2
@dodger: Wat. Hasn't it already broken the record for most pre-orders? It's going to sell over a million copies before Christmas, easy. #modernwarfare2
@Tiagomnh: They're probably testing the waters with this title. Quirky, innovative titles like this one usually don't make it in this business. Hopefully sites like this one can generate enough hype among the hardcore following. #modernwarfare2
