The big news here for PlayStation 3 fans is the announcement of the previously Xbox 360 exclusive Tales of Vesperia for the PS3, bringing one of the better Tales tales told in years to the Sony platform. Along with the Vesperia news, we also see the official announcement of Tales of VS, a fighting game for the PSP along the same lines as Dissidia: Final Fantasy. and Tales of Graces for the Wii, the first original Wii game in the Tales series, two game names that McWhertor discovered earlier last month using his magical trademark-sniffing powers.

Check out the link before for more scans of pretty anime characters doing action role-playing things.

<![CDATA[Final Fantasy XIII Scans from Famitsu PS3]]> A reader at FinalFantasy-XIII.net has scanned in 37 pages from the latest PS3-centric Famitsu magazine that covers Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII Versus. There's not a lot new here (if any) but if you haven't been following every tiny bit of minutia coming out about the titles, there will probably be some things you haven't seen in here. Of course, if you can read Japanese there will no doubt be lots of fun info about the game to take in as well.

<![CDATA[New SFIV Character Revealed]]> Meet Crimson Viper. She's the latest member of the Street Fighter IV roster, revealed in scans posted by neo2046 over at NeoGAF this morning. Judging by the pseudo business attire and the always fashionable fauxhawk, I have the same response as the majority of the NEOGaf commentors - is SNK doing Capcom's designs these days? Not knowing how to read Japanese has me at a severe disadvantage, but from what I can gather she is to have a fighting style completely new to the Street Fighter series, which really doesn't leave a lot to choose from. My money is on the ancient art of flailing around wildly and hoping you connect - a style I have spent many years perfecting.

<![CDATA[Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Scans]]> Website TrueGaming has posted a bunch of scans from Famitsu magazine showing off details and pics from the upcoming Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. I'm not a big racing game guy myself, but even I know quality work when I see it and these screens look stunning. Gran Turismo fans will certainly have plenty to ooh and ah over. True Gaming has a total of five pages scanned in rather large sizes. They don't have a gallery up as such, so just scroll about halfway down and look in the right column for the GT scans.

<![CDATA[New Fallout 3 Scans]]> The newest Game Informer has a bunch of new images and info for the upcoming Fallout 3. The folks over at No Mutants Allowed have gone and scanned it all in and posted them on their website for your perusal. I have included five of the pages below, but to check out all of them and read a transcription of the article, head on over to No Mutants Allowed. Or, you could just go buy the magazine and have it to love and cherish as your very own.

<![CDATA[Gallery: DK Bongo Blast Scans]]>
New scans are coming in from Famitsu and Koro Koro Comics of Nintendo's upcoming DK Bongo Blast for the Wii which is being released in Japan June 28th (no word on US release date). It's got no bongos, but it does have the big ape doing a bad-ass Superman pose and a level with a giant squid (and you know I be loving me some giant squids).

So then how do you play the game? According to IGN:

You shake the two devices [the Wii Remote and the Analog Peripheral] in turn to accelerate, shaking just one to veer in a particular direction. To jump, you raise the Wiimote and nunchuck together. You can also punch enemies and obstacles and throw barrels; we presume developer Paon has thought up some clever control options for these moves."

Clever. Now all I need is a cup-holder accessory and the whole thing will bring new meaning to the phrase "drunk driving".

<![CDATA[Wii Rumble Dead?]]>

Is the fact that the Wii has no rumble old news? Is it news at all? I have to admit, when I played with the Wiimote in Leipzig, I did notice that it didn't vibrate steadily in my hands in response to my movements... giving the entire thing a frictionless air that made me think of trying to play a light-gun game while holding the controller upside down. Still, I just sort of assumed it hadn't been programmed in yet.

Nevertheless, according to this scan from the UK magazine NGame, Rumble is entirely out in the Wii. The much tiny speaker has replaced it in the design and they even quote Shigeru Miyamoto.

If true, that's disappointing. Personally, I'd rather have rumble than a speaker, if I can't have both. Thanks to Kotakuite George for the tip!

<![CDATA[Gears of War Collector's Edition Booklet Scans]]>

Although Gears of War won't be available until November, when Microsoft hopes it will deliver a hay maker straight to the crotch of Sony's Playstation 3 launch, the cheese sniffers over at XBoxygen somehow managed to get their escargot begreased hands on Gears of War's Collector's Edition booklet, and there's a lot of beautiful art, enemies, weapons and details to oggle. There's no word yet on whether or not the booklet is limited to the Collector's Edition, or if it will also be available to you cheap plebs.

<![CDATA[Chopin Does the Polka]]>

Adorable video game and robot blog DESTRUCTOID! has some new poop on a weird but lovely cel-shaded game, Trusty Bell: Chopin's Dream ("Chopin no Yume" for the Japanese version). And they are mighty dubious!

Yes, as in the composer! Trusty Bell first appeared on this site as an unnamed Tri-Crescendo project that now appears to be in full swing. The members of the NeoGAF forum dug up these new famitsu scans revealing a beautiful cell shaded world akin to that of Blue Dragon and the other handful of gorgeous looking new japanase role playing games we must across the ocean drooling over. Before you pop a vein, read the premise of this game because it sounds a little... what's the word I'm looking for... "retarded" ? I just can't that excited about anything involving Polka. We'll see.

So far, the thing I dig most about this weird little title are the ridiculous costumes. Little top hats and frock coats all the way, damn it! Magazine scans with caption translations over at the ol' TOID.

Trusty Bell brings cell shaded Chopin to the Xbox 360. The quest to save Polka? Um, ok. [DESTRUCTOID!]
