Bayonetta designer Hideki Kamiya has someone else in mind. And it's not me. Sadly.

When asked what actor would make a good live action version of character Jeanne if (big "if") there was ever a movie, Kamiya says he's never even thought about that. Who he has thought about is a live action version of Bayonetta.

"For Bayonetta," Kamiya says, "it would be Elizabeth Hurley."

There, that settles it. Bayonetta is Elizabet Hurley. You can take that to the bank. Not sure what you'll be able to do with it there, though.

<![CDATA[Platinum: Actually, it's Sarah Palin who Looks Like Bayonetta]]> The Sarah Palin/Bayonetta jokes are officially played out, by decree of the Platinum Games designer Hideki Kamiya. In fact, he says Bayonetta's look is so iconic, soon people will be saying that Sarah Palin looks like her

Answering reader mail with Platinum's J.P. Kellams, the two lay the whole Palin/Bayonetta comparison at Kotaku's feet. Guilty as charged. Kamiya thinks the resemblance is only in the glasses, and that any country's glasses-wearing female celebrity is inevitably due for some Bayonetta comparison.

Here's the full transcript of his comments from the video, which you may see here. The relevant portion begins at 15:30.

Kellams: Next is a question from Crow T. Robot. What do you think about the Sarah Palin comparison? (I personally think Bayonetta looks a lot more like Tina Fey.)

Kamiya: When did this question come in? Recently?

Kellams: Recently.

Kamiya: People are still talking about that?

Kellams: Yeah, people are still saying that. And you know, Kotaku and the whole Sarah Palin thing ...

Kamiya: Honestly, the only thing that I see in common is that they both wear glasses.

Kellams: That, and the joke is old already.

Kamiya: Yeah, It is old. Well, you know the thing is, in the US they say Sarah Palin. In Japan, they always bring up people like Angela Aki. I think they say something similar in every country. That country's famous glasses girl.

Kellams: Yeah, I think that's it.

Kamiya: If they have long hair and wear glasses ...

Kellams: OK! Bayonetta!

Kamiya: The thing with that impression is, you know, we've put out plenty of trailers now, and when you play the game and see the cutscenes, I think people will recognize Bayonetta as Bayonetta. Then people will look at Sarah Palin and say that she looks like Bayonetta.

<![CDATA[Alleged Palin-Autographed 360 Back on eBay]]> The PayPal, you see, she could not handle a payment of $1.1 million. That's why this Xbox 360 said to be autographed by Bayonetta Alaska's ex-governor was pulled from eBay. Not because eBay items at this price are usually b.s.

Seller David Morrill is hell-bent on getting his seven-figures for this Palin-autographed piece of hardware. After it was taken down in August, everyone said fake-fake-fakety-fake. Morrill, on the new listing, says it was taken down thanks to an "insufficient diescription of the item or no photos of the item," and then because "PayPal is unable to process a payment of this size." Which actually is good to know about PayPal.

So Morrill is back at it with a new payment processor. The console has been re-listed and is up for auction until Oct. 10, at a minimum bid of $1.1 million, which is upland territory usually handled by Christie's or Sotheby's.

As we said in August, this might be expecting a little much. $1.1 million would be a record for anything signed by a person still living at the time of its sale. Never mind this is the signature of a political one-hit wonder who just finished up a grueling four (4) months writing her memoir. Hell, I'm not even sure the advance on her memoir rises to the $1.1 million mark.

The 360 has a grand total of zero bids on it as of now. Surprise. Good luck with it, Dave.

<![CDATA[Purported Palin-Autographed 360 Listed for a Cool Million [Update]]]> President Obama tells us to "put away the Xbox." Sarah Palin? She'll sign it! This Xbox 360 allegedly autographed by the alleged Alaska governor is allegedly on eBay, for $1.1 million. Allegedly. Suspicious? You betcha.

Update: Yup. This sucker's been de-listed. Couldn't've seen that one coming. Now, back to our original story ...

That picture above is one of two provided by the seller at the listing. He's claiming that it "was autographed at the governors picnic on July 24, 2009, in Wasilla, Alaska, just two days before her resignation as governor of that state." She did indeed have a picnic in that town on that date. But if she signed a console there, this is the first I have ever heard of it. And such things usually trickle onto the blogs.

We put the picture to a forensic examination by Kotaku's Bureau of Questioned Documents and could not make a conclusive determination either way, fake or 'shooped. Turning around and comparing it to her actual signature also produced no conclusion one way or the other.

But that $1.1 million price tag is fishy as Fairbanks. Not that any of you do have $1.1 million to drop on a tagged 360, but if you do, you probably know some appraiser who can certify this before eBayer dmorrill123 gets the money out of escrow. According to this list, $1.1 million would be a record for anything signed by a person still living when it was sold. Fellow-soliloquy writer Shakespeare's is valued at $5 million.

Just don't play it. Because if it red-rings and you send it in, well, don't expect Microsoft's power-washers to know the value of political memorabilia.

<![CDATA[Bayonetta Joins Ranks of Delayed Games]]> Bayonetta, the over-the-top action brawler from Platinum Games, just got bumped into January 2010, Sega announced this morning.

It will, however, still be launching in Japan on Oct. 29.

"Bayonetta is an extremely important new IP for SEGA and adds a new level of depth to our growing portfolio. As a result of market analysis we have taken a Publishing decision that January 2010 is the optimum release time in the Western Markets to maximize this exciting new title's potential," said Mike Hayes, President and COO for SEGA West.

We at Kotaku are deeply disappointed, well everyone but Ash is. And McWhertor so called it.

Totilo? He's hiding behind his humor to mask the pain: "First Sarah Palin quits the governor's office, then she quits the fall game release schedule."

<![CDATA[Governor Sarah Palin Is Air Milf]]> With the election proper only a day away, gamers' thoughts naturally turn to one thing - video games featuring Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin. Comedy Central has us covered with Air Milf, an action-filled shooter in which the Governor of Alaska takes out wolves from a helicopter with a high-powered rifle. The key to success lies in stringing together headshots, with the point value rising with each successful kill. While the creators earn points for the dramatic musical score, they lose said points immediately after due to not having the actual Airwolf theme.

And please, don't take this post as me endorsing one candidate or the other. As far as I am concerned, Cobra had the right idea with Serpentor.

<![CDATA[Sarah Palin in Rock Band 2]]> Oh, you thought we were done with the Sarah Palin shit? Well think again, my friends. After last Sunday's post about Palin in video games, reader Marion D. sent me three screens showing his band's lead singer in Rock Band 2. Oh gosh, can she rock it or what? You betcha. Just make sure she doesn't sing any of Heart's greatest hits, should they ever become available.

Two more pics on the jump.

Well, suck it. Pwn or Die has a half-dozen shoops of everyone's favorite fappable vice presidential candidate, and I must say, the Samus costume is quite fetching. But good God, she looks like a dude — Rudy Giuliani with a wig, actually — in that lollipop GTA IV rendering. Guys if you're gonna do it, do it right, Palin never steps foot in public without her indestructible updo. The full gallery is on the jump.

UPDATE: Reader Nick R. supplies box art for Cabela's Alaskan Adventures: Sarah Palin Edition. Is this a retail box drop or DLC for a 2-year-old title? Oh. God, I'm tempted to tag this post rumor just for the hell of it.

<![CDATA[The First Sarah Palin Game]]> And it's a flash game. A UK-based dev is behind Polar Palin, which has players take on the role of a polar bear who's out to blow up oil rigs and campaign military tanks. Says the game's site:

The U.S. recently classified the Alaskan polar bear as a threatened species because of the destruction of its natural habitat. It is predicted that the population of bears could be reduced by two-thirds by the year 2050 due to pollution and global warming.

The state of Alaska, led by Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, is to sue the U.S. interior secretary to reverse the decision amid fears that it will hinder oil and gas development.

Trying playing through Polar Palin, but my polar bear got lost somewhere in the ocean. The game's embedded after the jump.

<![CDATA[David Jaffe On Sarah Palin]]> We gotta give it to God of War creator David Jaffe: Dude speaks his mind. Says what he honestly thinks. And he doesn't pull any punches. In a recent video blog, the game developer offers his opinion on John McCain's Vice President pick, Sarah Palin:

The VP pick... When I found out about McCain's VP pick, I was like, "Okay, look, there's no way the Republicans are happy about this at all." And there you go, they're raving like this is some great choice. So if anyone who's watching this is a Republican, please comment and explain to me... You know, it doesn't seem like the Hillary thing is gonna work for most women. I can't imagine most women, or voters in general, although certainly women in this case, are going to say, "We didn't get Hillary, we'll vote for this lady.

I think she's, you know, kind of cute. She's the perfect definition of a MILF. Not to, you know, disparage her or anything. I'm not trying to sort of make it about that, but it's like that's what I see when I look at her. I didn't love Hillary but I looked at her and I saw experience and intelligence... you look at this woman and you see a MILF. That's what you see.

Her experience doesn't really seem to indicate that she would be all that great as a vice-president and certainly not a president. What are they thinking? The more important question is why am I seeing so many Republicans saying this is great?

Video clip below, Jaffe starts talking about Palin at about 3 minutes 40 seconds in.
