Walmart always seems really lax on returns in my experience. I've never returned anything as expensive as a 360, but still. I could've brought in stolen merchandise, and still been given cash in return no questions asked.
I know this is way off topic but does anyone have experience in breaking their Xbox to get the three red rings? I have a myriad of problems with the machine but no red rings. I want to break it so that I can ship it back. Any suggestions?
Mine RROD'd me about a month ago for the first time. Turn around time from Microsoft was 7 days (I'm in Texas). You also get a free month of XBox Live. No receipt was necessary as I'm guessing they can figure out the manufacture date from the serial number. The only hassle for me was dropping it at a UPS store in the box with the shipping label that was provided. For all the horror stories I've heard, mine was very painless and suprisingly efficient. I was impressed.
Not Best Buy, I know that. I just saw all of their systems now have a sticker that for only $29.99 they will put all the newest system updates on your console and create a profile for you on the console and everything. Isn't that nice of them? Ugh. Seriously would you even want someone else creating a profile for you to use?
@ramenite: It's good practice to justify yourself after speaking like a douche bag. Unless the douche bag angle is what you were going for.
Wal-Mart is a shop, get over it. You live in a capitalist, consumerist society, it's America buddy, if you don't like it kindly get out. In this day and age a big corporation can't even fail when they spend more money than they have it seems, so when one goes the extra mile for something like this you know it's not because they have to.
It really isn't a bad deal... five dollars cheaper than the MSRP of just the console plus extra controllers, and comes with a couple of games... So, there is still savings to be had.
Just that forced bundles like this kinda suck because you may not want the games, and it'll make it nearly impossible to trade them for other games you may want instead.
@Ad-hominem: they'll still be saving money, just that the batallion of resellers that were ready to storm Sam's clubs across the country can now go do their predatory things on more interesting items.
If console supply remain as scarce as it has been (even whilst they beat the proverbial shit out of their competition), these packs will be flying off the shelves even if reality checks clue you in that $425 isn't a small price tag in this day and age.
This is very appealing.. I want a Wii but I don't feel like getting up early to be there for 5am. I can't imagine camping outside the store this time of year.. maybe sleep in the car? lol. Also, I don't have a Sam's Club membership, really no sense in getting one. I've only been to a Sam's like twice lifetime.

This is actually the first time I've heard of this about WalMart. Returning stuff to WalMart has always been a huge pain in the ass for me.

Been easy and painless for years here.

Actually the repair centre for Xboxes is only about 1000km away. Surely it'll be faster and cheaper to send it in via official MS channels, right?
Right?

Guess I'll have to wait a lil longer before getting a Wii :/
