It's what I consider the Bestest Picture of the Year, therefore meaning, yes, it's mandatory viewing lest Witz need to take you outside. But what about that very weird-sounding game based upon the movie that was floating around the internet last week? It sounded weird for a reason. It doesn't exist.

An analogy comparing small budget games to small budget films was taken out of context—the true story is really quite lame. Luckily, it means that the video game industry hasn't figured out how to spoil the few good movies that come out of Hollywood...yet.

<![CDATA[ Dreams Of Halo Wars PC, Shot Down, Trampled, Exploded ]]> Yesterday we posted the rumor that Halo Wars might be coming to PC and offer cross-platform multiplayer with 360 players. We figured that given Ensemble Studios' PC heritage and the mouse/keyboard RTS experience drawing in computer gamers, maybe the rumor had some merit. We've since talked to Microsoft, and here is their "Dear John" letter response to the rumor.

Halo Wars" is being developed from the bottom up for the Xbox 360 and its control scheme to ensure that we deliver a groundbreaking console RTS experience. Given that, we have no plans to develop "Halo Wars" for Windows Vista at this time.
Sorry PC readers. But it probably would have been like 2 years late anyway. ]]>

<![CDATA[ Proof Provided of Halo DS, Still Not A Real Game ]]> IGN's Matt Casamassina couldn't take it anymore. After seeing that both our own Luke Plunkett and the mighty Wikipedia had questioned the existence of the fabled Halo DS, something snapped inside of him. Storming the halls of IGN, he hacked the company's master computer (password: kotakurulez) and uploaded assets from the game onto the web. And then, in a cocktease sure to break the hearts of fanboys everywhere, he stated:

Let's be clear. This game will never see the light of day. At the same time, the below videos prove that Halo DS wasn't a garage project by a two-man team. There were some very big names involved with this title, so it's a shame you won't get to play it.
Hit the jump for a full motion taste of what could have been while Matt shouts, "I didn't kill my wife," and dives hundreds of feet into turbulent, HalolessDS waters. Yes, there's video that looks slightly more legit than this version.

The gameplay actually looks pretty decent. Here's hoping developers go all Doki Doki Panic and reskin the game as a Mario FPS or something.

Thanks tipsters!
