Just spoil it for me now and tell me what happend to the rivalry if Jin and Hwrang.
Did it happen or did Jin win the whole tournament again with his Devil form?
I'd buy it myself, but I have no monies T__T (wiki's no help either) #tekken6
@Goldwings: Hwrang was about to defeat Jin when Jin transform to Devil Jin.
Devil Jin then open can of whop ass on Hwrang and was about to kill him.
Then Gon jumped in and farted so the two fighters were stunned and confused. Gon in the mist of confusion threw them in the air and ate them both.
The end
Oh yea forgot to mention that Panda still rejected Kuma. Not because Panda hates Kuma, it's just that Panda found out she was a lesbian.
Hitatchi finally build up enough stress where he got a hernia but no one noticed since he wears a diaper anyways.
Just rent the game if you don't have enough to buy it. I'm running out of ideas what happened, plus it's hard typing when your past the buzzing stage after drinking. #tekken6
@Neko_Tech: Damn Neko, it seems you get less and less funny the more you drink cause that post and jokes where TERRIBLE.
Also your grammar is impeccable for someone who's supposedly drunk. Its LIKE YOU'RE NOT DRUNK AT ALL.
@Goldwings: Part of what Neko said was true, Hwang was about to defeat him Jin but Jin went all Devil and almost killed Hwang, he almost died but he his master saved him, Hwang woke up from a coma after 3 days and begged his master to train him as hard as possible, Baek took him in as a pupil again and gave him his toughest training regimen.
Hwang is now back and hopefully can bring Jin down once for all. #tekken6
@Kyosuke_Nanbu: After I woke up and recovered (still paying for it) I agree but I'm pretty sure my post wasn't meant to be funny. I really should stop drinking to the point where I'm smashed and throwing up. I'll make it a note for my New Years resolution, that and to stop smoking.
I guess I have one less ending to go through since with the spoiler (it's all good). I can't wait to pick up my limited edition bundle next Wednesday. #tekken6
all these comments and reviews and aside from actual tekken players, i haven't seen anyone actually comment on the changes between t5: dr and t6.
bound? rage? floor breaking? reduced juggle damage? universal 10frame jab? reduced sidestep? no more guaranteed launcher off of a low parry? different wall combos? wake up kicks only knockdown on CH?
@kainzero: It doesn't really change much from someone thats played a ton of Tekken. The changes are just flavorless toppings on a great tasting cake.
This series still has issuses with its backdrops just being scrolling jpegs and with bizzare ass choices for unlocking content. Sadly the best way to unlock your favorite characters items is to play the lack luster scenario mode everyone is bitching about. It's not a quick trip either, it looks to be at least 3 to 4 hours long.
Past that the game is still as enjoyable to play as its always been characters get new moves and further balancing and while the game isn't mindblowing graphically its holds up well in every mode except scenario.
If you like Tekken you should already know if you want this or not. #tekken6
@kainzero: I don't know how that is suppose to be part of a review, that is game mechanics. Everyone is in agreement the game mechanics work, and are very much improved.
I think Kotaku said it best, All they had to give us was a solid game and a solid way to find competition (online mode), but instead they also decied to give us a SINGLE (No Co-op WTF) player experience...which kind of sucks.
When it does add Co-op it might be better because I have those friends that only want to play with you and never against you.
Anyway the way I see it, 2/3 of the game sucks (Online, and Single Player) The Versus is awesome, but still there was alot of room for improvement (Graphics, Presentation, LOADING). Also I'm surprised nobody mentioned Azazel, he is a terribly annoying and cheap boss fight, makes it hard caring about the end stories knowing you have to fight him. #tekken6
@George Ganser: just game mechanics? SF4 added focus attacks and everyone talked about them, just a result of capcom hyping them up. it matters. i guarantee you that if mario started jumping an inch off the ground instead of 50 feet, you'd get lots of reviews talking about "Mechanics"
no one mentioned azazel because he sucks. i beat him using steve and all i did was 121. #tekken6
@kainzero: I hear Inglorious Basterds uses better film compared to Tarantino's earlier work. Also that the script was significantly larger than those.
All reviews of Tekken 6 I've read do mention the Rage system, as have all reviews of SF4 mentioned the Focus Attacks or the Rage meter.
The difference with reviews and what you're looking for - in depth analysis of hit frames, recovery times etc, basically FAQs - is that reviews are general game criticism at best - the good ol' "graphics, sound, gameplay" breakdown, preferably conforming with style guides and less than 500 words - or consumer guides at worst.
Bringing it back to the movie analogy, if I ask you if a movie was good, would you answer yes or no, or go into the minutia, as I slowly move away from you? #tekken6
@ryoshi: How on earth can consoles that have been available for a number of years be considered 'next' generation? Some people need to consult a dictionary. #tekken6
@KesMonkey: Are you serious? I though Tekken 6 is made for PS4 and XBOX730? j/k, enough with being realistic and nerdy, you know what I'm talking about. Doesn't matter if it's next gen or this gen, it's the next Tekken. Wait, no...it can't be new, it's out already. #tekken6
@diagorus: They ruined Ivy. All her best combos from the three previous games had their moves separated amidst a bunch of stances. They were already hard to time, and you had to wait for the right moment to use them, and they didn't do that much damage unless you executed them perfectly. But no! Mangle the fucking character and make Mitsurugi stronger! What the fuck.
@Koztah: I agree, on top of that they have a truly unacceptable single player experience. I know fighting games are meant to be played with a friend, but at LEAST pretend like you're trying.
I have a feeling i'll be sticking to my virtua fighters and UFC this generation. #tekken6
@diagorus: Bushido Blade is still my favourite fighting game. I wish I could find my disc. I mean, apart from Naginata vs Naginata battles which invariably end up with both participants completely crippled and unable to attack without falling over (which is in itself funny), it had the most satisfying weapon combat ever. IMO. #tekken6
@Koztah: I agree - I think that it would be the perfect match with euphoria, since the engine would be great with all the unique animations it would generate while those characters were struggling to stay on their feet. #tekken6
I've never been a fan of playing as Clank, but the demo has proven to me that it can be done, and it can be fun. I'm buying the first copy I come across. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@mariospants: Same here. The time-based gameplay is more than convincing enough. The "multiple Clank" puzzles are fun, and so is slowing down time, which, among other things, makes fighting with Clank much more interesting than it used to be. #ratchetclankacrackintime
I can't wait for this game. I just hope it isn't the last one in the entire series like some people are thinking. I at least want one more game on the PS3 that actually has some multi. Maybe I'm in the minority here, but I liked the multi in the ps2 games. #ratchetclankacrackintime
So, I think the question of the year is this: Does Eurogamer actually like videogames? I submit that they do not, based on the fact that they fucking hate every videogame they play. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@Noyse: I wasn't a big fan of the last Ratchet & Clank, it's definitely not for everyone. All you do is run around blowing the shit out of everything for 10 hours, I thought it got really repetitive and I lost interest, I didn't even finish it. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@yargh: This isn't just about R&C. Every Eurogamer review I ever see in Frankenview is the lowest. It's like they wake up every morning and say "Whelp, time to hate some more games!" I just don't get it. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@Noyse: They could just use a different rating scheme. If they set 5/10 as an "average" score, like EGM did, that 7 means they liked the game quite a bit. Not every fun game has to be 10/10. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@OrwellJames: I don't want to sound like a fanboy because I'm not - I don't own either system. But to me, the fact that the 360 is still around, subscriber-only multiplayer and all, is absolutely confounding. I don't get it at all. Sony had a rough start there with the PS3, but these days the library of AAA titles is expanding faster than anyone can keep up with. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@OrwellJames: The most entertaining part of this thread is that when I post something relevant, I stay gray forever, but I post this one sentences and get 500 replies.
How does the same review that says the game is "pretty, polished, funny, expansive, satisfying and rewarding" also give it a 70? What more could you want form a game! If all of that is only considered to be worth a 70, then what does it take to get a 100? #ratchetclankacrackintime
@Cururu: This is an example of why it's always best to read the review rather than putting a lot of weight in the score. Particularly since Eurogamer tend to give lower ratings to games that don't present anything terribly new or prove to be quite derivative. However, a seven from Eurogamer doesn't necessarily mean a title is average or bad. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@That mop mutant from NES.: If 'no game should score exceptionally well', then the scoring system has no meaning. If it is impossible to get a 100, then the reviewer is doing it wrong. Also, while there is definitely a place for innovation and creativity, ultimately what I want from a game is for it to be "pretty, polished, funny, expansive, satisfying and rewarding", and if a 'rehash' can do that then more power to it. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@Cururu: Eurogamer marks games out of ten. We believe this is specific enough to identify the differences in quality between the majority of games, and that with these guidelines in hand the benefits of the ten-point scale outweigh the potential for inconsistency across a range of writers. Here's what the marks represent:
10/10 - Phenomenal
9/10 - Excellent
8/10 - Very good 7/10 - Good
6/10 - Above average
5/10 - Average
4/10 - Below average
3/10 - Bad
2/10 - Atrocious
1/10 - Bloody atrocious
@octaslash: I agree that the reviews should be read since you get more information that way. For this particular review, if you just went by the score you'd think the game was merely 'Good', but if you read the review you'd find out that it is "pretty, polished, funny, expansive, satisfying and rewarding", which sounds like an absolute endorsement to me. Perhaps they should stop weighting their complaints so heavily if, even with those flaws, they can still consider a game to be all of those things.
Also, that scoring scale proves just how pointless most scoring systems are. Can you really numerically quantify the difference between 'Phenomenal' and 'Excellent' or 'Atrocious' and 'Bloody Atrocious'? A lot of those categories look like padding. They could axe half of them and go to a 5 point scale and the value of their scores would likely improve. #ratchetclankacrackintime
I wish I played these games from the beginning. Can anyone tell me who the biggest bad guy of all is in this franchise? And do you think they should release a full length, 3D animated film on this franchise? #ratchetclankacrackintime
@Boom-Chicka-Ah: Here to Create a Star Commenter Empire: It changes every game, but there are repeat visitors--Dr. Nefarious is the returning bad-guy this time around.
For any of the PS2 or PSP games you don't really need to have played any of the prior versions to understand the story. But Tools of Destruction, Quest for booty and A Crack in Time is the first time in the series it's been an official trilogy, so starting from Tools would be beneficial, but not really necessary. I'm sure they'll do a recap.
Also, the animation in Tools and Quest are some of the best. There are times that it really does look like an animated film, so making a true movie wouldn't be that much of a stretch. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@NDN_Shadow: It depends on your perspective. People make fun of certain JRPG franchises for making little in the way of innovation, and then another franchise is lauded for making few changes from one iteration to the next. What it comes down to is whether or not people (or reviewers, in this case), want to enforce their own standards in the name of objectivity rather than lump everything into one pile to be sorted later under a double-standard.
As for Ratchet & Clank: Does it change much. Nope. Do the games innovate much from each release to the next? A little. Are they still great games? Yes. It just depends on what you're looking for. Some folks are just looking to play great games, and others are looking for something new. On occasion, these two overlap, but it's more likely that either a game will innovate only, or just be great only. We as gamers know it's usually neither, though. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@NDN_Shadow:
Considering that the last time they tried to innovate we got deadlocked... Refinement.
It differs from series to series.
Mario, for example, hit perfection on the Super Nintendo, but years later got toyed with, unfortunately. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@Demonbird: were talking about the main Mario series? Its easily the most succesful transistion into 3D ever. They hit perfection with Mario 64 too and innovated incredibly. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@Yossarian: What's with the Eurogamer hate on this site? Their reviews are almost always fair. much rather them than some American site that always has inflated scores over what they should be. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@david78: There's a difference between being "Fair" and being deliberately nitpicky. Eurogamer often writes reviews for games, then gives an entirely different numerical score to them designed to influence Metacritic ratings. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@Archaotic: Nothing beats Edge, they hate everything. On every system. Go to metacritic and look up any game, and 9 times out of 10 the lowest score comes from Edge.
Bunch of wankers.
Is that a proper English put-down? Might be a bit old. Any friendly Brits want to teach us some new slang? #ratchetclankacrackintime
@david78: They have, traditionally, and consistently, over the past year or two, always been the lowest score posted in these Frankenreviews.
Is that biased? Yeah, probably, but still a little bit true.
I don't hate Eurogamer at all, I just think it is funny how their rankings almost always make them seem overly negative. You'll see them give 60's or 70's to games that everyone else is loving.
They are scores, that based on everyone else's numbers, would mean that it was a game that had a neat idea or concept, but was executed very poorly, or a game that was good, but so derivative and vanilla that it creates boredom. That doesn't mean the games are crap, or "bad", but that there are tons of better options out there.
I'd argue that for what this game is, there probably isn't a better option. So I mock their scores. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@Archaotic: I think Edge is so out of touch with what gamers actually enjoy that it's laughable. I ignore them too, but I do get a kick out of looking at their review scores--sort of like looking at an car accident--you just can't help it.
I'll will give them credit though for not being a bunch of suck-ups like those advertisements--oops I mean reviews--that Game Informer publish. They do have personality in their writing, it's just fueled with haterade. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@Yossarian: You'll see them give 60's or 70's to games that everyone else is loving.
So? The idea that Edge (or Eurogamer, or anyone else) is wrong or stupid because they scored game X lower than anyone else is one of the stupidest and most intellectually lazy arguments there is in the gaming community. It's absolutely ridiculous, especially when the "curve" is built by some random guys at Metacritic HQ using a formula nobody else can see.
I am not saying that Edge is always right, or Edge is genius, just that, if you want to criticize them, you have to bring more to the table than "they score lower than the other guys." Especially when, quite often, they don't. #ratchetclankacrackintime
What a surprise, Eurogamer scoring a PS3 exclusive below the curve.
Glad to see that other, more respectful publications are liking the game though. Can't wait to pick it up whenever I have the money. Dr. Nefarious is such an awesome villain.
(And really, when you're voiced by Armin Shimerman, the man behind Quark and Andrew Ryan, could it be any different?)
@torrseph: UC2 is probably the only example, alongside LBP, of a PS3 exclusive that Eurogamer didn't score at least one or two points below the curve on. Sometimes they're even harsher.
@TuxBobble: Yep. Definitely unsurprising. I still can't believe they docked Folklore points on "not being European enough". I mean, the game had its fair share of flaws, but c'mon. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@torrseph: Yes, and now they're taking out their frustration at being "forced" to recognise Uncharted 2's quality on Ratchet & Clank.
I wonder if they'll give MW2 a 7 for being too similar to COD4... It's funny how some objections don't seem to apply to certain genres or franchises.
To be fair, Eurogamer's review itself is mostly positive. It's like Ellie had a brain fart when the moment came to award a numerical score. #ratchetclankacrackintime
@Archaotic: Dude, they gave U2 a 10, Killzone 2 a 9, Demon's Souls a 9, Resistance 2 a 9, Wipeout HD Fury a 9, noby noby boy a 9, White Night chronicles a 8.
Just because they gave MGS4 an 8, thats where all this nonsense about them lowering marks for PS3 exclusives comes from. Ridiculous.
