Worst part is, I remember Living Room Games having all the material for a Street Fighter PnP game, one that seemed extremely well done.

Capcom decided to withdraw the license.

So, yeah, the WW one deserves to be mocked, but that other one that was never published? No.

@CommentatorHatman: Actually, I got to see a demo of the game a few years ago, at GenCon. It was 10% Street Fighter Logo, 90% Meh. Basically you drew up a bog-standard d20 character, and made one d20 attack roll after another against another enemy until one of you fell. No subtlety, no real strategy other than "roll high on this 1d20; keep rolling high until the other guy falls over".

    I was hoping for more.

If this was part of the d20 OGL thing or maybe a series of D&D 4th edition modules with some special classes/feats/powers I think it would go a lot further to promote their game.

But ouch, trying to jump-start a new rpg game and box-set from scratch? Could be brutal. Clearance shelves are lined with books from rpg systems that never took off..

Why one wears a thong and a hoodie is beyond be but I'm sure the power of imagination will make the pen and paper universe so much bigger then any amount of assets the art guys can push out *corn*

You know what's cool? A Giant Bomb reader simulated a fight between a T-rex and 7 30 bears using D&D rule-sets... the bears one though some suffered a tragic fate. I wonder how the rule-sets for Dragon Age would yield similar results? :/

Novels and now a table-top RPG? Uhh...Is it just me or is EA getting a little a head of itself here? What are they going to sell the rights to a movie before the game releases too? Or maybe we'll see Dragon Age underwear, t-shirts, pants, hats, and LARP gear.

@Derangel: D&D clothing isn't exactly rare, situations wherein EA tries to expand it's consumer grip on the mainstream populous even less so. EA has been aiming big as of late and it has suprised even my with its "outside the box" game "Mirror's Edge" (i know DICE, yada yada).

Besides that, any piece of underwear with a dwarf or a dragon on it is win in my book.. but i'm just plain weird.

    Dave? DAVE??!! DAVE'S NOT HERE!

Now that I got that out of the way...

It's been a sad month for gamers.

Yu no longer the "Creative Officer" at Sega-Sammy...

Now this. I might not play dice the same way as some of you (I prefer using them on a Craps table.), but I note that the D&D co-developers/founders made it possible and paved the way for many other games that I play (like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Xenogears and other RPGs in general. Maybe even a few MUDs.

Rest in peace, Dave. The gamers will still be rolling along for you...

That's the problem, the headline is extremely cold and unimaginative. It reads like a newspaper obit and not the obit of a well-respected game developer on a gaming website.
