The best part for me are the different noises each characters make. The sounds that the kids make when selected made me giggle just about every time. of course, the Pirate is first class as well.

the flash game aesthetics can ruin a game for me.. perfect example: plants vs zombies. man that game is actually pretty fun, but i hate the way it looks. i realize that sprites take a lot more work, but i prefer that look so much.. but when sprites arent on the menu.. polygons are a much better substitute.
oh and edge is the best game on the iphone!

It was crisp and clean and always fun. Rolando 2 will DEFINITELY be getting a download from me (once I've finished everything in the first one!)

And I will be getting it, but with ngmoco:) saying that rolando 3 will be out also this year i'm waiting to see it. Because, as a cheap ass person and knowing how the applestore works, 10 bucks aren't expensive for this kind of game, but i get the feeling that the day after i buy it it's going to be half the price!.
For now I'm entertained with World of Tunes, wich I seriously recomend you guys check out, and that little game of word scramble. And rolando 1. And Zenonia.

Platform side-scroll a la Super Mario?
It seems that this review is heavily depending on the review of the prequel, but a review should be able to stand on it's own.
When someone reads a review and doesn't even get what kind of game it is you should really consider re-writing it.

The review is great for people that are familiar with the game, but, as this is a fairly new franchize in a fairly new platform, it does warrant a little bit of a reminder.
It does, however, say MICRO REVIEW... and i have nothing else to say, so i'll shut up!

I think it's kind of stupid to pull games out of the appstor if it's gonna cost them the same 100 bucks a year if they let them as if they take them away.

Sadly apples digital download model is only good for apple and a minority. I really don't understand why developers even bother when they lose so much percentage to apple for ever sale.

As for the big percentage on every sale apple takes, it's actually also one of the cheapers platforms to distribute apps, 30 percent is NOT a lot when they are including the server and credit card fees on the bill. Also there's the fact that one can give apps for free and live on the ad revenue without giving any extra money to apple.
The DRM always sucks, but the apple one is one of the least intrusive ones since you can buy an app and install it on unlimited number of iPods/iPhones as far as i Know. So it's perfect for family and (very trustworthy) friends.
There is a lot of polish that needs to be done to the app store model, it certainly is not perfect, nor is particulary great right now, but inconvenient for developers it really isn't.

I'll surely get this one also, but at this rate i don't like the fact that thei're releasing basicly a sequel every six months. The price is pretty cheap though, so it doesn't matter that much.
And yup, NGMOCO is not exactly doing very original games but they've been doing a lot of quality stuff on the platform and they'll get my money because of it.
