Marcinko, is a badass! I hope the game lives up to the man. That said, I'm a bit dismayed that it went to common denominator shooter instead of the tactical game it was supposed to be.
Nice, Totilo and I share commuting paths, tunnel connecting the 1/2/3 to the L and 6th Ave lines! I noticed this also this morning. Poster made it a whole week before it got defaced.
@Stephen Totilo: I just finished reading Rogue Warrior, and I recommend you pick it up Stephen. Besides being a great and hilarious read, I have a feeling it'll put the game's direction into focus. My playtest of the game seemed odd until I read the book.
And I doubt its based solely off Rogue Warrior, which is an autobiography. His other novels detail more of missions or, as Pete mentioned, BS.
@Stephen Totilo: Ah, I got confused, this is the one in my subway tunnel (1/2/3 - L). Ny defacing is more defacinger than yours! (EDIT: It wont let me upload the image :sad face:)
I didn't realize that Bethesda was producing id's titles now. It is a bit weird to consider Doom II as a Bethesda property...but hey, why not?
EDIT: For the record, I know they are owned by the same company now, but it seems a little weird that it isn't stated as "Zenimax's Doom II" instead of listed as Bethesda's.
@Dash_Stryker: Wait, you're saying that San Francisco is a NORMAL city?
Besides, the Penny Arcade guys are from Washington, why would they go somewhere else to have their own show? Cali already has Comicon and E3, not to mention that Microsoft and Nintendo are located just a short trip away in Redmond
@Leno: They picked Seattle purely as a convenience to themselves (themselves being the Penny-Arcade guys [www.penny-arcade.com] ) since they are located nearby.
They are doing an east coast version later this year (or next?) I think, but IIRC it will be somewhere up in the northeast.
Keep in mind that this was started as a gathering for fans of their webcomic, it was small, and it wasn't nearly the size and scope that it is now. It's actually kind of amazing how this thing has grown into such an enormous event.
@maverickuw: Washington also has offices for Sony Online Entertainment, don't forget Bungie, Valve, Sucker Punch and lots of others call it home as well.

They really put a ton of work into recording 4 *ow* sounds.

Also, Rogue Warrior is apparently extremely vulgar. Like, Deadwood levels of vulgarity.
EDIT: And after watching a gameplay trailer, it looks like entire budget was setup around getting Mickey Rourke to be that vulgar. :/

Let's see what Micky Rourke as Marcinko can do.

All of a sudden the Punisher comics don't seem so far fetched by having Castle being a similarly aged Vietnam vet kicking ass.

Since all the Zenimax people were Bethesda people up until recently, they are all identified as such by the press and gamers.
Bethesda is a known name (and in a good way), and Zenimax means nothing.
Heck, they might even recognize that internally and refer to themselves as Bethesda still.
