<![CDATA[Rockstar's Agent "Very, Very Different" From GTA]]> What do we know about Rockstar North's PlayStation 3 exclusive title Agent? Not much, other than that Rockstar founder Sam Houser believes that Agent, set in the 1970s and full of delicious espionage, will be "the ultimate action game."

Take-Two CEO Ben Feder sheds a little more light on the mysterious PS3 game to Eurogamer, saying that Agent will feature "very, very different storylines, very different character development" from the wildly successful Rockstar North series Grand Theft Auto.

"It's a game about espionage, set in the 1970s. GTA is obviously more about an urban experience, a typically rags to riches experience," Feder says. "It's going to be very fresh for gamers."

The Take-Two CEO doesn't have much to share beyond that, opting to opine "I think gamers will be blown away by it."

Officially, Take-Two says that "Agent takes players on a paranoid journey into the world of counter-intelligence, espionage and political assassinations during the height of the Cold War at the end of the 1970s."

As to whether it's truly a third-party exclusive to one particular console, as almost no games are these days, Feder doesn't say, instead offering "we don't disclose anything beyond what we've already said."

<![CDATA[A Very Lemmings Christmas]]> As I rush out to finish the last of my Christmas shopping in my usually timely fashion, visions of long lines of desperate holiday shoppers bumping into things while Christmas music chimed happily from the shopping center's PA system. This of course led me to Christmas Lemmings, created in 1991 by Rockstar North back when they were DMA Design and killed more rodents - less prostitutes. We were so innocent back then. Merry Christmas, and should I be trampled to death in the mad holiday shopping rush, Happy New Year!]]> http://kotaku.com/index.php?op=postcommentfeed&postId=337323&view=rss&microfeed=true <![CDATA[Top 100 Games of the 21st Century So Far]]> Christ, another one of those "Top X" gaming lists. This time, the Top 100 Games of the 21st Century, published by Next Generation. Gee, Next Generation, why stop at 100? It's a slow news month... couldn't you have just ranked each individual game as it stands throughout the history of time?

What's the criterion here? Actually, more objective than the standard for such a list. Next-Gen.biz ranked every game since January 1st, 2001 based wholly upon unit sales, then analysed via revenuews, review scores and franchise spin-offs.

So who made the top spot? Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which surprises me... I was sure San Andreas must have topped it in sales, but apparently not. Halo 2 came in a close second.

<![CDATA[GTA IV MMO?]]> gtapetermoore.jpg

The studio responsible for Grand Theft Auto III Rockstar North is searching for in-Game Animators, level designers, motions editors and network programmers. The company's listing reads:

We are looking for talented network programmers. Candidates will have considerable experience writing high and low level network code across a variety of systems and be able to demonstrate fluent C++ programming skills.

There's been loads of speculation that GTA IV will be a MMO. The game will definitely have some sort of online aspect as Microsoft and Rockstar have a partnership so that exclusive content can be delivered via Xbox Live. The extra network programmers could be involved in that and handling the Sony online network. Or they could be turning GTA into World of Warcraft but with car jacking and hookers.
