Pre-order GTA IV PC Now, Get Vice City Free... Now

We suppose that if you've resisted the urge to buy into Grand Theft Auto IV this long, opting to wait for the superior Windows version, you may have waited on a copy of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, as well. Valve and Rockstar Games must think so too, as they're offering a deal to pre-purchasers of GTA IV via Steam, tossing in a gratis copy of Vice City if you throw down the cash now. Not the world's most earth-shattering deal, but ten bucks is ten bucks, and you get something new now to while away the time until GTA IV unlocks on December 2nd.

GTA IV Bus Ads To Terrorize Chicago Riders Once Again

Billboard advertising for Grand Theft Auto IV will return to Chicago buses and bus stations for six weeks as part of a settlement with the Chicago Transit Authority. Rockstar Games parent Take-Two Interactive sued Chicago's public transportation body in May after the GTA IV ads were pulled following a Fox News report. More »

Strip Club Loses Its Suit ... Against Rockstar

Ah, the Pig Pen, East Los Santos. I've blown many wads of cash there in my time, and left it about as fulfilled as I have any other strip club in real life. Speaking of unfulfillment and real life strip clubs, the PlayPen of East Los Angeles — notice any similiarities? — lost a federal appeal in a lawsuit against Rockstar Games, alleging the game infringed on its trademarks. GTA IV PC Delayed, Final System Requirements Revealed

Rockstar Games has officially pushed back the release of Grand Theft Auto IV for the PC, settling on a two-week delay and a new December 2nd release date. The date confirms what was reflected at retailer listings updated earlier this week.

According to IGN, the official minimum and recommended PC system requirements have also been revealed. The recommended requirements closely match what was posted on the official Games For Windows site — then pulled — last month. The full specs are after this. More »

Retailers Say Grand Theft Auto IV PC Delayed To Dec. 2

According to various retail listings, Rockstar Games' PC port of Grand Theft Auto IV may not make its announced Nov. 18 release date. Both Amazon and GameStop are currently listing the Games For Windows release as Dec. 2, meaning a two week delay may be in order.

The official Games For Windows site still lists the PC version's original release date, as does Rockstar's own GTA IV PC listing.

We've reached out to Rockstar to get confirmation on the potential slip and will update when we hear something official.

Grand Theft Auto IV Gets PS3 Trophies Monday

PlayStation 3 owners will be able to brag of their Grand Theft Auto IV achievements... err, accomplishments officially starting Monday, as Rockstar Games is making PlayStation Trophies support official at the start of next week. Expect 51 new Trophies to arrive on the PS3, presumably matching the already available Xbox 360 Achievements — the first four should be familiar to the Xbox crowd — plus one for that bonus platinum level trophy that illustrates your dedication.

Don't expect, however, to see retroactive Trophies support in GTA IV. The official word from Rockstar notes that we should "make sure to download and install the update before playing in order to start attaining Trophies." What's another 40 hours or so in Liberty City?

Grand Theft Auto IV Also Plagued By Zombies

World of Warcraft isn't the only game getting into the Halloween spirit, as Rockstar Games has kicked off a "zombie infection" in Grand Theft Auto IV. That explains all those dudes in shiny golden bikini briefs, then. And why not? Variety is the spice of life, so who couldn't use a little decaying flesh ambling about Liberty City for a while? Midnight Club Los Angeles Review: The Fast And The Infuriating

Midnight Club, now in its fourth major release, lands on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, giving us Rockstar San Diego's first foray into flashy, illegal street racing on current-generation consoles. The series heads to the west coast with Midnight Club Los Angeles, bringing with it a new, realistic representation of southern California's smoggiest city, which happens to also be Midnight Club's biggest location to date. With a more open-world environment, "next-gen" graphics and extensive online integration, has Rockstar given us a reason to renew our membership to the Midnight Club?

We pay our dues to see how Midnight Club Los Angeles finishes the race in our review. More »

Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars Won't Be "Family Friendly"

That's according to Rockstar Games founder Dan Houser who tells Edge that Nintendo "didn’t want us to make a GTA for kids, and we weren’t interested in making a game we wouldn’t normally make." Houser describes Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars for the Nintendo DS as "almost like a GTA version of a classic arcade game." Go on...

"I mean, GTA is about stealing cars and shooting people – how could it not be an 18 rating?" he adds. The DS game's flamethrower and, more importantly, the drug dealing mini-games (pictured), will certainly garner some attention from those concerned that a cel-shaded crime spree will corrupt our global youth.

Chinatown Wars may not have been what you were expecting, what with its tattooing touchscreen challenges and carjacking mini-games, but it certainly looks interesting. And, if we can be so bold, pretty good for a 3D Nintendo DS release. Whether it will find enough of an audience for more stylus controlled massacres, given its mature bent, we look forward to figuring out.

Steam Cuts Rockstar In Half This Weekend

Need something to play this weekend? Need it on the cheap? If you're on board with this whole digital distribution through Steam thing, some classic and not-so-classic Rockstar Games titles are being sold at bargain basement prices. Ten bucks for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas? Five for Manhunt? You could do a hell of a lot worse. The entire Rockstar Games Collection is just $29.99 in U.S. dollars, making corruption by video game violence a steal.

The whole thing is time limited and may very well not be offered in the country of your choosing. For the lucky bargain hunters, have at it.
