The Greatest Taxi In Japan
Over in Ishikawa Prefecture, a taxi company is offering a maid taxi service, appropriately called "Maid Taxi" (so clever). 5,700 yen (US $50) an hour gets you a chauffeur, a maid and a PS3 equipped cab that comes with Virtual Fighter 5, Ridge Racer 7 and Hot Shots Golf 5. Passengers can also watch DVDs and listen to MDs. Mini Discs? That's so 1998! The catch? The service is for handicapped customers only, which is very cool. Beats taking the bus or the train! More »

Ridge Racer 7 In Crazy 3D
Testing of a 3D version of Ridge Racer 7 at Namco's Wonderpark HeroesBase in Kawasaki City. The 3D used in the PS3 racing title was developed by NHK and supposedly does not make one's eyes tired. Called "Xpol," two images are processed for each eye by blending the scanning lines on LCD TVs. Since images are made from polygons, they are relatively easy to convert to 3D, since the only changes need to be so that base image displays for each eye. PS3 Has Sold a Million in Japan
It's about time! According to Enterbrain, Sony's PLAYSTATION 3 has finally sold over a million units. Going on sale this past November, the console clocked in at 1,010,492 units sold as of July 15th. The top selling game is Gundam Musou at 280,000 units sold, followed by Ridge Racer 7 at 140,000 and Gundam Target in Sight at 138,000. Just think how well the PS3 would be doing if there were actual games. More »

PS3 Loading Tray Hell
This is painful not only on the ears, but the soul. The kids at Punch Jump got their retail version PlayStation 3 20GB model in the mail, only to have it crap out straight from the box. Talk about a buzzkill. Good luck with your next one, guys!

I've never been a big fan of the Ridge Racer franchise. I hated it on the Xbox 360 and expect to hate it on the Playstation 3. PS3 Bags Full Auto 2 In Exclusive
Joining fellow racer Ridge Racer 7 as a raspberry to the Xbox 360, Sega's Full Auto 2: Battlelines will be a PS3 exclusive and feature over 25 cars, 20 weapons and more than 20 fully destructible tracks. Trigger-happy players can level tracks to create shortcuts and smush opponents with flying debris. Sega says that the game will be the most "exhilarating combat-racing experience" for the PS3.
