@Emulated wants a star: YO DAWG! We heard you like HUDs in yo' games, and games on yo' phone, so we put a phone on yo HUD in yo' phone game, so you can use yo' HUD phone when you use yo' HUD in yo' game on yo' phone!
@Cavefish: Look, I have no problem admitting that cdjapan is expensive. It was simply the first English-language website that popped into my head.
Still, that doesn't detract from the fact that DVD/BD movies always carry a much higher price in Japan than in the West when you compare them solely based on exchanges rates, which makes no sense, as everyone with a high school education should know.
My original point stands that 3900, while not cheap, isn't as ridiculously expensive as it seems, and that it's meaningless to compare that price to American or European prices.
And it's not like the $15 movies on the American PSN are a big improvement over retail DVDs, is it?
But hey, feel free to dismiss the entire argument by focusing on a couple of links to cdjapan, and go tell all your friends that you pwned someone on the internets.
It is a bit expensive no? Seeing as you're not even owning a physical copy of it.
I found the movie to be ok. Nothing groundbreaking and seemed more or less a filler for the RE cannon than anything else. I mean there were some bad moments. (Like Leon not giving Claire her own gun even though he knows she's dealt with zombies before, etc).
The animation itself was nothing to write home about. I mean I honestly think I've seen better CGI from PS3 and 360 game cinematics. Not in-game mind you but the prerendered intros, endings and whatnot.
This sort of thing should be one of the major uses of Blu-ray. I mean shouldn't Capcom be including this on the PS3 RE5 disc?
Just guessing that a 90 minute high-def file would be anywhere between 4.5 - 10 gigs, depending on whether or not it's 1080p or 720p. Now, I'm no genius or nothing, but if anyone is actually willing to give up 10 days worth of download times on the Resident Evil movie, for 40 bucks nonetheless, shouldn't they just hop in their car and buy it? Hell, they could drive three states away, buy it and drive back before the movie would be done downloading and it'd probably cost less.
39 bucks!? The movie was good as mindless popcorn action schlock. It wasn't exactly There Will Be Blood baked in a pie with No Country For Old Men. 39 dollars...Jesus.
Incorrect. The Wrestler is my number three. Slumdog is number two and Dark Knight is number one. Slumdog earned everything it got, go see it it's fantastic. I loved The Wrestler, though, and think it got shafted on a lot. I also saw Milk to see if Penn was deserving of his award, and he totally was. It is ridiculous watching that man perfect the art.
@iby777: why would you post that. to brag about it? piracy is so hard on my country (cause stupid politicians do sht about it) that my hometown movie theater closed. if it was me, i would put a fine to the seller and the buyer of pirat merchandise.
Oh, so one person doesn't have an impact? I don't believe that at all. If everyone pirated movies, you think that movie studios would still spend 50 million to make a film?

Let's see: the Degeneration DVD retails for about ¥4900, and the Blu-Ray for ¥5900. Suddenly, ¥3900 doesn't look so bad, does it?
