Metroid 2 Remake Is Painstakingly Gorgeous

Remakes of old classics - especially ones done by bedroom coders - aren't exactly new, but then they're often not exactly great, either. So it's nice to find "Another Metroid 2 Remake" bucks that trend by looking absolutely wonderful. It's the work of an Argentinean chap by the name of Milton, he's building the whole thing via Game Maker, and it's been nearly three years in the making. Chrono Resurrection - What Could Have Been

I am currently hip-deep in Sakaguchi's latest RPG Lost Odyssey, which got me thinking about all the awesome games I've played in the past courtesy of the Gooch, including my personal favorite, Chrono Trigger. In the middle of my ponderings, this video shows up in our tips email, containing footage of Chrono Resurrection, the 3D remake of Chrono Trigger that Square Enix put a stop to back in 2004. The video, uploaded by project lead Nathan Lazur, depicts what would have been a Chrono Trigger fan's wet dream. *wistful sigh* Damn lawyers. Thanks for sending in the vid anyway Mathew!

Clip: Prince of Persia Classic

We've already seen some screenshots of Prince of Persia Classic and now we get to see it in action. Looks pretty sharp with the use of the Sands of Time style graphics. I don't remember every frame and level of the original like some of you do, but it looks to be a pretty faithful recreation to me. This will definitely be a must have when it debuts on XBLA sometime in the near to distant future. Flynn De Marco

Final Fantasy IV DS Website Opens

Hot on the heels of the news that Final Fantasy IV is getting a 3d makeover for the DS comes the quiet launch of the Japanese website for the game. Now don't get too excited, there really isn't much there at the moment apart from a rather pretty opening animation and some soothing music. Although, I suppose calling it an animation is overstating it a bit. It's more like a pan over of a painting, part of which you can see above. You are then presented with the logo and a link to a fact sheet which is, of course, all in Japanese. Still, if you are a big Final Fantasy fan it's definitely worth a look see. More »
