Global Agenda is a combination of free and subscription-based team-based online shooter, but either way you've got to buy the game to play. Hi-Rez has nailed down February 1st, 2010 as the launch date for their first big title, with preorder bonuses in store for those who reserve a copy via Steam, Amazon.com, or directly from Hi-Rez. Fans putting their money down early get access to the game's closed beta events, a special in-game helmet, and a chance to reserve character and agency names before the masses arrive.

Amazon and Hi-Rez will also be selling a limited edition boxed version of the game, which comes with a poster and a Commonwealth art book, which details the rise of the game's totalitarian government.

Remember, each copy also comes with one month free subscription to the subscription-only Global Agenda: Conquest mode. Check out the difference between free and subscription pay and get more preorder details at the Global Agenda website.

<![CDATA[White Knight Chronicles Goes International In February]]> Level-5's epic PlayStation 3 RPG finally makes it to the states in February, filled with extras and re-branded as the White Knight Chronicles International Edition.

The International Edition of White Knight Chronicles contains all of the action-RPG gameplay of the original Japanese release, along with a slew of updates and downloadable content, all packaged together in one attractive package. You've got the promised voice chat function; 50 disc-based online quests to complete solo or with a group of three other players; an online village called The Georama, where you can invite friends to quest and buy unique items; and Live Talk, which is added side conversations that give your characters a little more depth, similar to what Namco Bandai does with the Tales of series.

The White Knight Chronicles International Edition will be released on February 2nd, 2010. My big-headed character will begin her adventure soon after.

<![CDATA[Glory Of Heracles Gloriously Dated]]> The long-running Japanese Heracles series makes its North American debut next month, when Nintendo unleashes Glory of Heracles for the Nintendo DS.

The Heracles series started in 1987 with the release of Tōjin Makyō-den Heracles no Eikō for the Famicom, which was loosely based on the Greek myth the Twelve Labors of Heracles. Since then four more installments have hit Japan, each one steep in Greek myth and dripping with RPG goodness. Nintendo announced a North American release for the fifth game at E3 in 2009, where McWhertor got his hands on an early demo. While his calling the game a "My First Role-Playing Game" doesn't exactly give me high hopes, the demo was brief...maybe they just forgot to include all of the good stuff.

Glory of Heracles makes it to American shores on January 18th.

<![CDATA[Just Cause 2 Plummets Towards March Release]]> Square Enix has announced a March release date for Just Cause 2, in which secret agent Rico Rodriguez parachutes his way around another island while things explode.

This time around Rico hits up the South East Asian island of Panau, where his former boss Tom Sheldon has retired with a whole lot of Agency intel and cash. It's another island; another military regime; and a lot more explosions, and it's coming on March 23rf to North American Xbox 360s, PlayStation 3s, and PCs, with a European release three days later on the 26th.

"Just Cause 2 offers the freedom to explore and tackle the world in any way you choose", said Lee Singleton, General Manager of Square Enix London Studios. "The grapple and the parachute mechanic will change the way you play open-world games, allowing players to be in the air in seconds, tackling missions from above and using the aerial advantage. If you prefer to stay on solid ground, the choices offered by the grapple are limited only by your imagination."

I may come off snarky, but I'm actually looking forward to another round of Just Cause, if only to see if they fixed the things I disliked about there first one. Hey, it happened with Assassin's Creed II, why not Just Cause 2?

<![CDATA[Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce Brings The Online Multiplayer In February]]> Koei has announced a February release date for Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the first game in the series to feature online multiplayer, as well as Ninja Gaiden guest stars.

An upgraded version of the PSP game for console players, Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce brings the battle for ancient China online, allowing up to four players to participate in raids, take on giant enemies, or simply battle it out competitively. Strikeforce also features new Fury transformations, drastically changing the look of your character, granting them new powers, enhanced speed, and the ability to fly. It almost sounds like they've taken a page from Dynasty Warriors: Gundam.

The console version features more than 40 exclusive missions, an enemy Hyperbreak gauge, command of up to three AI-controlled officers in single player mode, a new character, and the ability to trade officers online with other players.

Now how much would you pay? But wait, there's more!

Both versions of the game will feature exclusive guest characters, with the PlayStation 3 version scoring folks from Tecmo's Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and characters from Warriors Orochi 2 for the 360 version. Completing challenges with these guest characters allows players to use their signature weapons in combat.

All of this, plus planned DLC to keep the game fresh for a long time coming. It sounds like a Dynasty Warriors fan's dream come true.

Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce hits store shelves on February 16th.

<![CDATA[Supreme Commander 2 Dated For North America]]> A European release window yesterday becomes a definitive U.S. release date today for Supreme Commander 2, with a video showing you what you could be playing come March.

Square Enix will be publishing Supreme Commander 2 in North America on March 2nd of next year on the PC and March 16th for the Xbox 360. To celebrate the announcement, they've released a video of Chris Taylor, Founder and Creative Director of Gas Powered Games, walking us through a typical battle. It looks like exactly what I was shown at E3 2009, actually, only without Chris Taylor actually being in the room with you.

<![CDATA[Supreme Commander 2 Secures Spring Release]]> Square Enix has announced a Spring 2010 release window in Europe for Gas Powered Games' RTS Supreme Commander 2, dispatching a celebratory batch of screenshots along with the news.

Set 25 years after the original Supreme Commander, Supreme Commander 2 features an extensive campaign mode and online multiplayer, all wrapped up in an engine that sacrifices polygons for performance but still manages to look spectacular.

The release marks one of the first times Square Enix is publishing a Western-developed game in Western regions, and Gas Powered Games Creative Director Chris Taylor couldn't be more pleased.

"The partnership with Square Enix has been a highlight of my career. I couldn't be more proud of what the team has accomplished, as the game has continually exceeded all of my expectations throughout its development."

Supreme Commander 2 will be released on the Xbox 360 and PC in Europe this spring. I'd expect the North American release either at the same time or slightly earlier.

<![CDATA[Command & Conquer 4 Gets Release Date, Preorder Bonuses]]> Tiberian Twilight colors the PC gaming horizon on March 16th, and EA has dropped details on the preorder goodies awaiting those who want to get an early jump on the end of the world.

Remember back when we used to fight over Tiberium? We were such dorks back then. Now that it is killing the planet, bringing the 15-year Tiberium saga to a close, it all seems so silly. Still, it wouldn't be a C&C game without fighting, and that fighting kicks off on March 16th. If you're looking to get an early taste of the action, preordering the game will not only get you access to the upcoming beta program, but an exclusive prequel bonus mission and the game's soundtrack as well.

"Finally, fans will learn what happens to Kane, Nod, GDI, Earth and Tiberium when Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight hits store shelves March 16th," said Mike Glosecki, Lead Producer of Command & Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilight at EA Los Angeles. "We can't wait for fans to experience the trademark C&C action with the new level of strategic depth we have added, especially with our new experience system."

Make sure you get a good seat for the end of the world. It should be rather spectacular.

<![CDATA[Star Trek Online Sets Phasers On February Release]]> February is a month for love, and there is no greater love than a fan's love of Star Trek, so it's appropriate that Atari and Cryptic announce a February release date for Star Trek Online.

Star Trek Online is a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game based in the near future, or at least the near future of the Star Trek universe. Players become high-ranking Starfleet officers, customizing their ships and boldly going many different places, both in space on planet side. Beta testing is now underway, and will likely continue until the game's newly-announced February 2nd North American release date.

"Star Trek Online is poised to become the ultimate Star Trek gaming experience," said Jim Wilson, CEO of Atari, Inc. "Throughout the last four decades, Star Trek has been a mainstay in pop culture, influencing legions of fans through television, film, and more. Star Trek Online opens a whole new chapter and expands upon this incredible universe in 2010."

While I am excited by the concept of the game, the more stats-based side of me is even more interested in seeing how many Trek fans flock take to the game. It could become the new online destination for Trek fandom, or it could wind up one of those deserts where the crew of the Enterprise tends to run across the odd megalomaniacal robot.

<![CDATA[Gyromancer Takes Over Your Life This Month]]> Attention PC gamers and Xbox 360 owners - your free time dies in a week and a half. Gyromancer, the unholy union of Square Enix RPG, Pokémon, and Bejeweled Twist, now has a release date.

Mark November 18th on your calendar, and then set the rest of the week busy. That's the date that Square Enix and Popcap bring the blend of puzzle game and RPG pioneered by Puzzle Quest to the next level, adding collectible monsters to the mix. Gyromancer has you summoning monsters to fight other monsters in Bejeweled Twist flavored puzzle battles. As if that weren't bad enough, your monsters also gain levels as you fight with them, much like they do in Pokémon, and they come on pretty little cards that you'll want to collect until you pass out dead on your couch or in your computer chair.

Maybe it's just me, shaking with anticipation here. If I disappear after November 18th, call the police. Better yet, call Dominos and have them deliver cheesy bread.

<![CDATA[Bayonetta's January Release Date Nailed Down]]> You might want to hang onto those holiday video game gift cards a bit longer than normal, as Sega confirms the early January release date for sexy slash n' shooter Bayonetta.

Sega wants to make Bayonetta the first triple A video game title of 2010, and they've got the release date to do it. The game drops in North America on January 5th for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, with Europe getting in on the action come January 8th. Sega CEO Mike Hayes believes the delayed timing is perfect.

"PlatinumGames set out to deliver a game that redefines the 3D action genre, and we feel that they have set a benchmark for future games in the genre to aspire to," said Mike Hayes, CEO of SEGA America & SEGA Europe. "We chose a January ship date for BAYONETTA as we firmly believe that it is the best time for SEGA and our retail partners to launch this exciting new IP in the West, and push for a number #1 retail slot. BAYONETTA is a huge title for us and the perfect start for the New Year, both for SEGA and gamers across Europe and America."

Of course PlayStation 3 owners can opt to spend $20 more and snag the English-language import a few months earlier, but then they'll miss out on...well I suppose they aren't missing out on much of anything. Good for you, region-free gamers!

<![CDATA[Play Resident Evil Zero On The Wii This December]]> Resident Evil fans can experience the prequel to the franchise all over again in December, when Capcom releases Resident Evil Archives: Resident Evil Zero on the Nintendo Wii.

I never played the Gamecube version of Resident Evil Zero, which tells the story of rookie S.T.A.R.S. member Rebecca Chambers and ex-Marine Billy Coen as they discover the origin of the T-Virus. I'm not even sure I owned a Gamecube when the game was released, and by the time I got one I had other concerns. Now Capcom is re-releasing the game on the Wii as part of the Resident Evil Archives series, tweaking it for Wii remote and nunchuck control, but otherwise leaving the game intact.

Resident Evil Archive: Resident Evil Zero will be released on December 1st. Wii owners lacking the patience to wait until then can probably find a cheap copy of the Gamecube version used somewhere for less than the $29.99 asking price for the new one. Just saying.

<![CDATA[Guybrush Threepwood's Execution Scheduled For Friday]]> Guybrush Threepwood faces trial and execution in the fourth chapter of the Tales of Monkey Island saga, due out on PC this Friday, October 30th.

The third chapter of Telltale Games' episodic adventure game hit the Nintendo Wii on Monday, and the PC version of chapter four is coming out on Friday? What a difference the WiiWare approval and scheduling process makes! I suppose Wii players should stop reading to avoid spoiling the fact that Guybrush finds himself trapped back on chapter two's Flotsam Island, now riddled with the pox that he brought there. Before he can progress to the series' epic conclusion he must avoid being executed for his heinous crimes - though when your wife looks like Elaine does right now, it might be for the best to just let nature take its course.

Tales of Monkey Island: The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood will be available for PC purchase this Friday.

<![CDATA[Mass Effect 2 Dated For January, Preorder Bonuses Abound]]> EA has nailed down a January release date for Mass Effect 2 in North America and Europe, detailing the special armor and weapons available as preorder bonuses in the process.

The epic space RPG continues on January 26th in North America, with Europe joining the fray three days later on the 29th. Along with the release date announcement, EA has revealed preorder bonus equipment available via download code once the game hits store shelves.

Most retail outlets will receive codes for Inferno Armor (seen above), which increases your Commander Shepard's negotiation skills, run speed, and combat damage. Those opting to preorder from GameStop will receive the Terminus Assault Armor (seen below), which includes an armor suit that augments run speed, damage, shields, and adds an additional magazine of reserve ammo, and the M-490 Blackstorm Heavy Weapon, which generates a localized gravity well, which sounds painful.

"Our fans are in for a genuine thrill in the New Year with Mass Effect 2 - the second installment in the trilogy will be of amazingly high quality," said Dr. Ray Muzyka, co-founder, BioWare and Group General Manager of the RPG/MMO Group of EA. "BioWare's fans worldwide have been eagerly awaiting this epic sequel, and we couldn't be more excited to reward them for pre-ordering by delivering some awesome bonus content!"

I for one am relieved that a release date has finally been nailed down. Now I know which week to request off. Don't tell Crecente.

<![CDATA[Surprise Activision Dinosaur Game Coming In November]]> Activision has announced a November release date for Jurassic: The Hunted. If you just asked yourself, "What the hell is Jurassic: The Hunted," rest assured I'm right there with you.

This is the first I've heard of Jurassic: The Hunted, Activision's budget dinosaur hunting game, outside of a brief mention as "Jurassic Hunter" in Nintendo's holiday lineup listing. Players take on the role of survival and weapons expert Craig Dylan, pulled back in time through the Bermuda Triangle to find himself face-to-face with the deadliest predators the world has ever seen.

"Get ready to be the hunted," said David Oxford, Activision Publishing. "In Jurassic: The Hunted players will experience nonstop, vicious dinosaur attacks coming from all directions – and these are massive beasts that don't go down with a single rifle shot."

The game will feature arena style fights, sieges, survival modes, and suitably large boss fights, with an adrenalin mechanic that allows the player to target the enemy's weak spots in slow motion.

And that's all we've got. Jurassic: The Hunted comes out November 3rd for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii, priced to potentially move at $39.99, with a PlayStation 2 version also on sale for $10 cheaper.

So, who's up for blindly buying a title not many people have heard of? Anyone?

The new system goes on sale on November 3rd, just in time for holiday shopping. The unit is the same size and shape as the 120GB PlayStation 3 Slim, only with slightly over double the hard drive capacity. The system seems to be priced a bit lower than its UK counterparts at $349.99.

Every day my $600 60GB PS3 launch purchase looks more and more ridiculous.

They're back, and they look mighty pissed, at least in that screenshot above, posted on the PlayStation Blog along with news of the game's November 3rd release date. <![CDATA[Trine Hits U.S. PlayStation Store This Month]]> Released two weeks ago on the European PlayStation Store, developer Frozenbyte and publisher Nobilis are nearly ready to release the award-winning physics platformer Trine in the states.

Trine has been available on the PC for quite some time, but on the PlayStation 3 it's been only our friends over in Europe who've gotten to purchase and put the game's heroic trio through their paces. That ends on October 22nd, when Trine finally sees a U.S. PlayStation Store release. I'm not sure why the European and U.S. releases were separated by a month, but I'm guessing it has something to do with Nobilis being a French publisher and all that entails.

Those interested in checking out Trine when it hits the PlayStation Store would do well to read Luke's review of the game, to see how a burly Australian man feels about it.
