There were two ways to market this game in the states. Either Aksys could play up the fighting system and gloss over the more adult bits, or they could release a trailer that basically says that the game itself doesn't matter as much as the scenery within. That's not the sort of message that makes me want to rush out and spend my money.

Very nice use of 70's porno guitar though.

<![CDATA[New PSN Game Is Nearly 10GB In Size]]> Upcoming PlayStation Network title Record of Agarest War may sound tempting to fans of strategy RPGs, but if you've got a 20GB system (or even a 60GB system), you may want to be careful.

Why? Because a representative from the game's North American publisher, Aksys Games, has revealed that the download-only title will be between eight and ten gigs in size. That's one hell of a big download.

Won't be a problem for anyone with a more recent system (80, 120, 250), but man, an 8-10GB download...it doesn't seem so long ago Microsoft were trying to keep online games under 50mb.

<![CDATA[Record of Agarest War Coming To Xbox 360, World Saved]]> Aksys announces that their saucy strategy RPG Record of Agarest War, would be coming to the Xbox 360 as well as he PlayStation 3 next spring, a decision they claim has saved the world.

Record of Agarest War, also known as "that soul-breeding game," was announced for North American PlayStation Network release back in July, leaving Xbox 360 owners to sit and weep and wonder why. Now the publisher has revealed that 360 owners will get to indulge in creating the next-generation of hero alongside PS3 owners this spring, a decision that is apparently much more important than anyone suspected.

"In truth, we had Record of Agarest War ready to go up on the PlayStation Network months ago," [Ed.'s note: That's a lie.] says Ben Bateman, Editor, Aksys Games, "But when a haggard man emerged from a ball of crackling energy that materialized outside our office with dire warnings from a dark future, we decided to reconsider. As it turns out, a PlayStation Network-exclusive release of Agarest was-or rather, would have been-the catalyst for World War III. The gaming community was torn apart-literally-by this apparent favoritism, and from that schism poured the infinite minions of Satan himself, the Lord of Lies. The man told us, his eyes blank with the 1000-yard stare, of the horrors of this future war. He had been sent back in time, the last hope of a desperate human resistance, to prevent what the people of this desolate future Earth called, simply, ‘The Breaking.' As the last spark of life passed from his body, broken and battered by his journey through the time vortex, we swore to honor his final wish.

""This is why Record of Agarest War has been delayed," Ben continues, his eyes wet with tears, "So that we may release it on both consoles, and in doing so, save the world."

They are a brave, brave people.

<![CDATA[Which PS3 Box Art Is Better For Europe?]]> PS3 "soul breeding" game Record of Agarest War is being released in Europe by Ghostlight. The publisher has entertained two choices for box art.

The Japanese original and the new, more realistic "Westernized" 3D art. Can you guess which is which? (Don't let the PEGI rating give the answer away!)

After getting complaints feedback, Ghostlight has decided to go with the original Japanese art.

<![CDATA[Aksys Suggestively Bringing "Soul Breeding" Game Stateside]]> Aksys Games has launched a placeholder website for Record of Agarest War, the "soul breeding" Japanese strategy RPG that is completely distracting me with its teaser image. What were we talking about again?

Oh yes! Record of Agarest! We've mentioned the game on several different occasions, generally in the middle of the night when the kids were tucked safely in their beds, dreaming of...well, most likely dreaming of the same sort of things we were posting. We've studied the undearware differences between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, checked out some of the game's artwork, and we even reported on the game coming to Europe.

I'd go into detail about what the game is about, and what "Soul Breeding" entails, but I think Aksys' choice of teaser image speaks for itself.

<![CDATA["Soul Breeding" Japanese RPG Spawning In Europe]]> Strategy role-playing-game title features not only suggestive eating, but also "soul breeding".

Record of Agarest War has a "Soul Breed" system in which players must capture the heart of the game's heroines so that they can create their successor. When this happens, there is a "special" movie that's show, and afterwards the new successor is revealed. His stats are even based on the heroine you select for breeding. Yep, in-game DNA.

Originally, the Japanese game was released on the PS3, but it has since gotten the inevitable Xbox 360 — complete with underwear differences. The game has been Japan Only... Until now, it seems.

A rating for PS3 title Agarest: Generations of War has appeared in Germany. The game will be released by European publisher Midas Interactive, who has worked with Japan's Idea Factory. Idea Factory is partly responsible for Record of Agarest War. So there you go.

<![CDATA[PS3 Breeding Game Getting Sequel]]> Record of Agarest War, released in 2007, is a PS3 breeding RPG. And breeding means doing it — and what did that mean?

Not that much. Anyway, the game has a "Soul Breed" system in which players must capture the heart of the game's heroines so that they can create their successor. When this happens, there is a "special" movie that's shown. Afterwards the new successor is revealed and his stats are even based on the heroine you select for breeding.

The game is getting a sequel, Record of Agarest War ZERO, which is out this June. It's set a thousand years before the previous title. As with the previous title, there's an in-game DNA mechanism. The "Soul Blend System" mixes character trends and features when producing off-spring.

Seventy percent of the game has been developed reports Famitsu. There's banana eating and cat ears.

<![CDATA[What's The Difference Between PS3 And Xbox 360 Versions? Ladies Underwear]]> "Soul Breed" strategy/embarrassing food eating RPG Record of Agarest War first hit the PS3 last fall. Now, it's got the inevitable Xbox 360 version. There are differences, it seems, big differences.

In the monster-killing-baby-making RPG, players capture the hearts of game heroines to "create" a successor. When this happens, there is a "special" movie that's shown. The new successor is then revealed. So what's the difference between the two versions?

Well, for one thing, the Xbox 360 version has an altered title: Record of Agarest War: Re-appearance. And the game has Xbox LIVE support. Then there's something about the in-game underwear.

The top is a screen cap from the Xbox 360 game, and the bottom one is from the PS3 game, apparently. For some, this is important stuff.

<![CDATA[PS3 RPG With Suggestive Chest Touching Tentacle]]> Tears to Tiara is one saucy PS3 title. Not nearly as saucy as "Soul Breed" strategy/embarrassing food eating RPG Record of Agarest War, but hey, few things are. "Adventure + simulation" fantasy sword-swinging RPG Tears To Tiara features 2D cutscenes — not a big deal! But one of which apparently has a boob grabbing tentacle. Yep, tears indeed.

The game goes on sale July 17th in Japan. Click through the gallery below.

<![CDATA[Yep, Soul Breed PS3 Game Is So So Dirty]]> medium_ps3sexgamerevistited.jpgNothing says next-gen like embarrassing food eating! Japanese developers Idea Factory and RED bring us Record of Agarest War, the "Soul Breed" strategy RPG. Players capture the hearts of game heroines to "create" a successor. When this happens, there is a "special" movie that's shown. The new successor is then revealed. The monster-killing-baby-making RPG was released in Japan late last month, and in-game shots are starting to surface. So far? There's a girl in a school-type bathing suit, one eating a sausage, another eating a banana, a messy ice cream scene and group bathing. That, safely after the jump!

Some new content has popped up on the Japanese PlayStation Network, including a demo of the "soul breeding" Record of Agarest War. Definitely going to check it out tonight. Hopefully, it looks better than the cruddy clip we posted recently.

<![CDATA[PS3 Breeding Game Has PS2 Level Graphics?]]>

You call this a PS3 game? Sure, we're watching a bad quality internet upload and should really see it first hand, but still. This doesn't even try to push what the hardware is capable of! "Breeding" strategy RPG Record of Agarest War looks more at home on the PlayStation 2 than the PLAYSTATION 3. And even for a PS2 game, it looks cheap. And crappy.
