didnt know it wasnt Platinum in other countries yet,i saw it for sale as Platinum range last week in HMV,costing £24.99...which really, isn't that great a price seen as though its coming up to a year now and you can get the original version for prolly less(not pre-owned,just shops selling it for less)...they really know how to fleece us with those platinum ranges
(on another note i just bought Assassins creed in the Classics range for £14..but that is a bit older than MGS4)
@metallicorphan: On yet another note, I picked up a copy of Heavenly Sword in Zavvi for £7.50. Not a game that was ever really on my get list, but for £7.50 I was definitely willing to give it a home!
@ThursdayNext: I only played through it once in coop with a real friend. We both hated it, actually. Maybe I needed alcohol, but I can't down the stuff without feeling extreme pain. That's no fun for me. ;[
Wasn't the game $40 new when it released some time ago? The hell? I don't care if it's all super-realistic and shiny looking- "Burnout" has 10x as much content and fun and costs a whole Hamilton less.
Damn it! I add my voice to those waiting for Uncharted to be on the cheap. I refuse to pay almost full price for a game that came out like 2 years ago, no matter how good people say it is.
@Mister Jack contains Potassium Benzoate (That's Bad): It has to do with making money. If Uncharted is still selling a decent amount at its current price point then they won't lower the price and give it Plat Hit status.
@Southrncomfortjm: By that same logic though, I'd imagine MGS4 would probably still be selling pretty well to new PS3 owners. Seems a little early for a cut of that magnitude.
@Dead Giveaway: It's not that bad... it's just the warning light yellow. If they changed it to silver it would look much better, but then it wouldn't stand out as much.
@globones: Want more? Read Gamasutra directly. It's probably the only place where you'll regularly find in-depth interviews/post-mortems about every little aspect of a game's journey from concept to reception. Most of the time, it's fascinating stuff.

p.s: I take no credit for the mediocrity of the game. Thank EA for that.

On a more serious note, I might now pick up Ratchet and Clank ... and I'm sure my nephew will get MGS4, so this will definitely spur some sales.

Then again, my opinion is made void by the fact that I picked it up at a pawn shop for $20.

Looks like a freaking little big planet abomination.

Probably because it's bundled with the 160GB PS3 system in the states.

But this MGS4 one also is plastered with a whole bunch of other little shitty logos.
Not to mention the actual cover isn't that great.
