Still A Chance Rage Can Hit Digital Distribution
You know how id's John Carmack said that his company's upcoming shooter Rage just wasn't going to work in terms of digital delivery? And how you'd need to buy the game on a disc, like the olden days? Yeah, turns out he was wrong. id's Tim Willits has corrected his boss, telling 1UP: More » -

id (Try To) Explain Away Rage 360 "Cuts"
Little bit of confusion yesterday over reports that id's upcoming shooter Rage had seen parts of the game cut - across all platforms - due to the 360's limited storage space. A 1UP report said cuts had been made, id said "nunh unh". Confusing! id have today attempted to settle the matter, with Tim Willits telling Shacknews "As far as game content, I will swear on the lives of my children that nothing was cut". So...nothing was literally cut, they just designed the entire game around the limitations of one of the target platforms? It's taking a different road (Semantics Ave), but don't we still end up at the same place? More » -

id's New Rage Trailer, Fresh From The QuakeCon Floor
During the opening address of QuakeCon earlier today, John Carmack wasn't just happy he was wearing his best pair of on-stage shorts. The EA E3 2008 Press Conference In Pictures
Well that was eventful, wasn't it? While my internet connection wasn't exactly there, I was side by side with Crecente throughout the entire EA press conference live blog, immortalizing the event in pictures. From Will Wright's Spore presnetation to the golfer with nicer legs than Tiger Woods, aging basketball players to id's Rage, if they showed it, I desperately took pictures of it, oftentimes cursing at my camera, the presenters, and Crecente under my breath. Here it is, all at once, all for you. More » -

id's Rage is FPS-meets-racing-meets-vechicular-combat-meets-lotsa-sand. So many ideas rolled into one. Sure, id probably had no shortage of FPS ideas — the developer all but invented the FPS. But where did it get those other ideas? From other games! More » -
