I really was hoping this game would be awesome, but I honestly didn't have high hopes. After all these positive reviews though, I'm definitely stoked on giving this a rental at the least. Looks like this and NSMB will be giving my 360 a break for a few weeks! #rabbidsgohome
@SadAstronaut: Yeah, I'm gonna give my 360 a break for Rabbids Go Home too, and I don't even own a 360! I've been excited about this game ever since I first saw it back in the spring and had been wondering why it was getting zero buzz. Totally getting it!
@GohanGVO: The shopping cart handles well, once you get used to how intentionally wobbly it is. The game is not hard. The last few levels can be challenging, but we're talking about the difference between dying maybe one per level to falling off a few ledges in each of the final levels. Checkpoints are numerous and never was I worried I would have to skip a level rather than complete it. #rabbidsgohome
Should the first sentence read "The only game this fall that lets you 'shoot' the clothes 'off' Santa Claus"? I'm curious, because I really have no idea. Are you shouting at Santa or shooting him? #rabbidsgohome
@High Speed Indeed: and the Wii won't miss you when Red Steel 2, NSMB, Zelda, Other M, Tatsunoko and a slew of other AAA games are released. #rabbidsgohome
@Wainut: Forgot to include that one! I didn't like MonHon on PSP mainly because of the fact that PSP games hurt my big American hands, but 3 looks amazing for a Wii game and reminds me a lot of what made Phantasy Star Online so great on the Dreamcast.
@High Speed Indeed: lol i can care less about you not sharing my opinion, i just like it when people dont act like 14 year olds on the internet.
you obviously dont like the wii, so why go by a wii post to talk about selling it? you like the pc, 360, or ps3? good i have a 360 and ps3 as well.. i dont play pc games, but im not going into a post about pc games to talk about how im glad i dont have a gaming pc..
@shouryuuken: He's entitled to his opinion, as trollish as it may seem. There are as many great Wii games as there are 360 and PS3 games, but people are too damn ignorant to give them any mind.I'd even say the Wii has an overall better lineup of software and DLC than both those consoles as well, if you include the massive amount of AAA games available thru the Virtual Console. #rabbidsgohome
@High Speed Indeed: So did you stop playing games? What exactly is there on the other consoles that is so much better than what is on the Wii? #rabbidsgohome
@Bubbleman!: He just ruled out shining examples of FPS, platformers, RPGs, adventure games, and fighting games.
Oddly enough, he didn't rule out the "collections of minigames" that, as we all know, is the only possible thing a Wii could ever be used for. #rabbidsgohome
@Bubbleman!: The issue isn't that he shared his opinion; that's what comment forms are made for. The problem occurs when someone leaves a comment solely about something as broad as a console in general in a post focusing specifically on one of that console's games.
It's a sword that cuts both ways, though. Personally, I wouldn't like it if someone posted, "i <3 wii!," either. It's neither substantive nor additive. I'm very busy reading and posting about games I'll likely never play over here. Let's keep it moving people! #rabbidsgohome
@spiderweb1986: That is pretty funny when you look at it like that. I find it amusing that Red Steel 2 is the first FPS game that has caught my eye in years aside from Mirror's Edge, yet I couldn't give two shits about another Modern Warfare game. #rabbidsgohome
@High Speed Indeed: 'Selling my console'. When you absolutely positively got nothing but crap to contribute. This comment = pot/kettle black to save you time.
@High Speed Indeed: Probably has less to do with not sharing the same opinion and more to the point of your comment being uneccesarily inflammatory trollbait, since it had nothing to do with anything remotely associated with the review. #rabbidsgohome
Sidenote: I didn't sell my Wii like I was hoping because the buyer backed out. I guess he thought he had second thoughts, which is better than the buyer's remorse that I have. #rabbidsgohome
@Bubbleman!: "There are as many great Wii games as there are 360 and PS3 games," Calling you out on this. List as many good Wii games as you can think of, and I'm certain I can list far more from other consoles. It won't even be close.
Note: They must be GOOD games, not "good for the Wii" like those 4chan PSP game images where half of them are ps2 ports and about 1/4th aren't really that good. #rabbidsgohome
@High Speed Indeed: I'm not bent out of shape at all; just calling a spade a spade.
Seriously, your initial post was as relevant to the topic as would be turning in a written report on frog dissection in American history class. #rabbidsgohome
Buying this. Not only it sounds awesome, it's a Michel Ancel game, and I pretty much enjoyed every single game he's made (even King Kong, to an extent). #rabbidsgohome
@robertbhealyiii: yeah.. how long has it been now? id love to see another traditional rayman platformer.. especially in 2d. i admit i never really played the rabbids games, but im actually tired of seeing them and not rayman. #rabbidsgohome
@shouryuuken: Problem is, the platform genre is pretty much dead right now. The N64 pushed the genre to its limits and burnt out a generation of players who got sick of collectathons, and every puzzle and gimmick has been done.
Super Mario Galaxy is the exception of course, but it's doubtful that any other studio could live up to it. #rabbidsgohome
@Sabre_Justice: i said this the other day somewhere, but the platform genre isnt dead because of any other reason than nobody making them. its not that people got tired of them, but many of the platform games we played as kids (im a genesis kid) were either first party games or licensed games.
nowadays, you have a market leader like microsoft who doesnt care about platform games, and the licensed games are garbage. the only reason licensed games were good in the 16 bit era was because quality devs actually made the games.. konami, sega, capcom, virgin. nowadays, disney interactive and thq do all the work, but the games are developed by some no name company in wisconsin or whatever that either doesnt have the talent to make a good game, or just doesnt have the experience. another thing is that japanese devs really shine at platforming, but what are they doing these days? a few jrpgs, some 3d action, and.. well thats about it from those guys nowadays. besides the occasional sonic (fail) and mario, japanese devs dont do platform games for home consoles anymore.
but i dont think they died out with the nintendo 64 because sony brought us some of the most important 3d platform games ever. crash, spyro, jak and daxter, ratchet and clank, and sly cooper were well recieved by a new generation of gamers.
sony sold the rights to crash and spyro to universal, so they killed the franchises. sony introduced little big planet, which was recieved well. also, ratchets doing just fine on the ps3, and im sure sly would do alright as well. now if only naughty dog would bring us another jak and daxter. i think that "cinematic" platformers are doing alright these days, and there are quite a few big name games that have platform elements in them. infamous, uncharted, assassins creed, prince of persia, tomb raider, and crackdown all come to mind.
also, the ds and xbox live arcade/psn/wiiware have been home to some good ones as well. splosion man, the maw, cave story, la mulana, lost winds, trine, and updates of classics like rocket knight adventures, toki, and bonk have luckily kept things alive for 2d fans.
so id say the main areas that platformers have failed are as licensed games (although todays licenses like spongebob and kung fu panda dont have anything on aladdin and tiny toon adventures) and first party offerings. #rabbidsgohome
@shouryuuken: I think what I'm trying to get at is that 'pure' platformers, or old-fashioned collectathons, are hard to find nowadays. There's always a gimmick or a genre hybrid.
Super Mario Galaxy is much more linear than its predecessors, boiling it down to pure platforming challenges. Ratchet and Clank is a combat game, and I think Jak has had some major shakeups as well.
2D puzzle platformers are indeed making a comback, but mostly mixed with adventure and puzzle elements. And the 'pure' platformers tend to be the really really crazy hard ones.
Back on topic: Rayman, on his own, doesn't have much to offer to make himself stand out from the pack. The Rabbids have proven popular enough to be worth their own franchise, so it might be a while since we see Rayman in a starring role again. #rabbidsgohome
What the...? Pretty much all my Wii games use the Wiimote speaker. Dead Space, Madworld, No More Heroes... And those are just the ones I bought this year! #rabbidsgohome
@IamNinja: Aww, don't tell me that. I've been debating renting that game for a while now. I mean, it's Ninja Turtles. That means it must be somewhat decent, right? #rabbidsgohome
@xeleion - Mains El Fuerte: Its really pretty bad, its what i'd have expected if it just popped up on the shelves one day out of nowhere, but it seemed like the devs were really into it.
The 3D/HD remake of turtles in time on the PSN (most likely on Xbox live as well) was however, pretty cool, the colours alone made my eyes melt into retro goo. #rabbidsgohome
@xeleion - Mains El Fuerte: I actually got it BEFORE it released (Best Buy had it a week early) It's not crap, it's fairly decent... sort of like "Brawl Lite" with a bit of other fighters thrown in. It's just the fact that they hyped it up to be a blowjob to TMNT fans and it ended up being a kiss on the cheek. #rabbidsgohome
I have had the speaker on my remote turned off since like a week after I got the system. I had just assumed everyone had been using it in interesting and/or obnoxious ways this whole time and I was just missing out. #rabbidsgohome
If you have the time, could you film the Rabbids Channel in action? Or is there video of it that has evaded my search? YouTube has failed me in this quest thus far. I lost 20 EXP because of it. Grrr. #rabbidsgohome
Yes, lots of games use the Wii Remote Speaker. But what about the Wii Remote Memory? When was the last time a game used that? The only time i think i have ever used it was putting Mii Characters onto my Wii Remote.
What about WiiConnect24 also? It would seem that the online accessibility of the Wii would be greatly increased if more titles used WiiConnect24 to establish Wii Consoles as "friends" with one another instead of the inane Friend Code system. With WiiConnect24, gamers would only have to exchange one long number code to play ALL their games with thier friends, instead of a different long number code for each individual game. #rabbidsgohome
@gogozombie:
The Wii versions of PangYa, Super Swing Golf, made use of the Wii Remote's memory. You could save a customized PangYa character to it, to later use for multiplayer games. #rabbidsgohome
It'd be pretty wicked sweet if someday they made it so that the music track for your instrument came out of the Wiimote speakers in Guitar Hero or Rock Band instead of from the TV speakers.
Of course, first they'd need waaay better quality speakers. But imagine if they did. Seriously, that'd be really cool. #rabbidsgohome
@The Anti-Fanboy: Okay, I gotta ask; why? You got your HDTV and your killer stereo for audio, why would you want it to come out of inch and a half long speaker instead? #rabbidsgohome
@The Anti-Fanboy:
In Guitar Hero III, the screech for missing a note would play from the Wii Remote, instead of the TV. Don't know if any of the newer games did that as well. #rabbidsgohome
@gogozombie: The last time I played a guitar, I'm pretty darn sure the sound came from the guitar in my hands and not a pair of stereo speakers 20 feet in front of me.
As for the part about the inch-and-a-half long speaker, see that part where I said "first they'd need waaay better quality speakers"? Consider the hypothetical situation where the minimization of technology has become so amazingly advanced that they're able to cheaply and efficiently pack a powerful, high-definition speaker into something the size of a Wiimote.
Now imagine a situation where, when you thwack a drumpad on the colorful plastic drumset controller, the sound of the instrument it's supposed to replicate _actually came from the drum controller_ like a real drumset.
Imagine if you strummed your squeaky Fisher Price toy bass guitar, and the deep resonating warbles played from the controller itself instead of the TV 20 feet away.
@N●Gage Croal: Yeah, that honestly irritated me to hell and back, because those plinks and wails were really really REALLY unrealistically loud. #rabbidsgohome

Therefore, may I ask how the difficulty curve compares to Super Mario Galaxy?
I do not necessarily mind 'easy' games, but I am unsure if the humor and level variety can keep my interest in the face of a lack of challenge.
Oh, one more question: Does the shopping cart and other assorted vehicles handle well?
