@TuxBobble: Yggdra Union and Riviera are beautiful games that initially came out for the GBA. They were redrawn and ported to the PSP and have much better audio and graphics than their original GBA format. Oh yeah, Yggdra Union is a strategy game whereas Riviera is more like an RPG (it's hard to describe Riviera). Both games feature a fan-service bath scene. :P
Crimson Gem Saga is all sorts of simple RPG fun, especially when it comes to collecting bombs from treasure chests in the middle of various towns/cities.
R-Type Command is a strategy game that is fairly straight-forward. #atlus
@PoweredByHentai: @TuxBobble: I will warn you that both Riviera and Yggdra Union are part of a project done by the developer (STING) to take a game design and add in very unconventional mechanics or design choices.
That's not to say that the games are bad, but that you'd be wrong to think that Yggdra Union is strictly a turn based Strategy RPG (It's something of a puzzle game mixed with tactical combat) and Riviera is just a RPG when it's what you get after you mesh an old menu based adventure game with a skill based RPG. #atlus
Thanks to both of you. Honestly, I really love the types of games that wind up as hybridizations of various generes, so you may have just made a sale for Sony/Atlus there! (Probably more for Yggdra than for Riviera, but you never know!) #atlus
@Omnimon: We're still here. Low cost is very nice and I'll likely get a few for my 3000, but the problems are still here, which I won't bother re-iterating. We all know the song and dance, and I'm not in the mood to beat a dead horse. #atlus
At least its there when I have the money, would have gotten crimson gem saga day of release, but literally none of my stores got any copies in. I was shocked. I had pretty much given up on getting the game. #atlus
@KazeEternal: Eh, Crimson Gem Saga is a pretty alright game. For an RPG it's rather short though, I was a little discouraged when I beat it and was like, "This is it?" #atlus
It's kind of funny, I've been hunting down a copy of the PSP release of Riviera (considering I'm a fan of STING and I loved the GBA version) and could only find a 40 buck unopened copy at GameCrazy. The digital copy will run me only 15 bucks, which is quite nice. #atlus
@wirebrain: I'm going to assume it has to do with the fact that they kept the same sprites for battles and field activities from the GBA version. Un-enhanced. They're digitized and don't look that good on the PSP. It's not really a problem for me, but I do think they could have done something there.
The game definitely gets points for having great remixes, and having Yuri Lowenthal in it. ^^ #atlus
@wirebrain: It was mostly the combat music. The zone music was fantastic and sounded beautiful, but they butchered the combat music. It's more hi-def, but they changed a lot of the instruments, like taking out a trumpet part and replacing it with some fail beepy synthesizer crap thing, etc. #atlus

Any of them actually worthwhile? Hell I don't even know what genre those games are from, haha...
It's ok though, I've learned that Aram Jabbari is the man, so I'll trust that at lease a couple of them are awesome.
(Aram did a few interviews with US Playstation Blog for those of you who were not aware) #atlus

Also, Knights in the Nightmare is another one of those STING projects.

Kind of detracts from the dog-eat-dog-world feeling. It's welcome. #atlus
