I'd like to think of a sewing circle of eight platinum-haired, bifocaled grannies, each working on a corner of this awesome quilt and gossiping about getting to the Donkey Kong kill screen without the hammer.

In fact, it's a commercially-available quilt done by Carolina Patchworks, yours for a mere $450. It's roughly 5 feet square, 100 percent cotton, machine washable and machine-quilted "in smoke-free, pet-free, and geek-friendly home." Awww!!! If only this came in a Slanket version. Then we could game and snuggle!

This amazing quilt was created by the folks over at Mad Scientist Laboratories. I was pretty impressed when I saw the picture of it, but blown away when I read through the step-by-step of making it.

Jacob writes to point out that he has a girlfriend and that said girlfriend made him this wicked-cool Space Invaders quilt for their one year anniversary. Color me jealous, it looks like it even came with NES controller throw pillows. As if she hadn't proved that she loves my brother more than me enough, my mother has provided him with an incredible quilt based on the stained glass promo images from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.
