In fact, it's a commercially-available quilt done by Carolina Patchworks, yours for a mere $450. It's roughly 5 feet square, 100 percent cotton, machine washable and machine-quilted "in smoke-free, pet-free, and geek-friendly home." Awww!!! If only this came in a Slanket version. Then we could game and snuggle!

<![CDATA[Mario Blanket Proves Once Again That Grandmas Are Awesome]]> Let's review. The ultimate Mario: Raccoon Mario. The ultimate warming device: blankets. The ultimate Mario throw: quite possibly, this Raccoon Mario blanket. Constructed from 2-inch squares and backed with a solid black design, we don't believe that this Etsy-born product was actually sewn by a grandma, but it's close enough for us to feel all warm and fuzzy inside. While none are currently in stock, you can email the designer to purchase this unlicensed blanket of your very own for $85.

<![CDATA[Quiltbert]]> 1111812731_d91d13b3f7.jpg

This amazing quilt was created by the folks over at Mad Scientist Laboratories. I was pretty impressed when I saw the picture of it, but blown away when I read through the step-by-step of making it.

<![CDATA[Make Your Own Mario Quilt]]> Want to learn how to make your own Mario quilt? This sort of craftiness is way beyond my current motor skill level (I can barely type out "villain"), but Kotaku readers handy with a needle and thread ought to check out the quick how-to posted on DIYnamite.

More photos of this lovely project can be seen right here on Flickr.

<![CDATA[Space Invaders Quilt]]> spaceInvaderQuilt1.jpg

Jacob writes to point out that he has a girlfriend and that said girlfriend made him this wicked-cool Space Invaders quilt for their one year anniversary. Color me jealous, it looks like it even came with NES controller throw pillows. Now if he could just get his GF to make him a proper bed and perhaps a bedroom, sans the faux wood walls, to put it in, he'd be set.

<![CDATA[Mom Proves Love/Hate with Zelda Quilt]]>

And you thought your mom loved you more? Ian writes in to point us to a link of a Zelda quilt his mother made his brother.

As if she hadn't proved that she loves my brother more than me enough, my mother has provided him with an incredible quilt based on the stained glass promo images from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker.

Wow, that things beautiful. Your mom must really hate you Ian.

Check out this sweet quilt. I love Mario-themed home projects. Keep sending in your game-related presents. For some odd reason we've decided to bunch them all under the somewhat broad tag of "coolness."
