<![CDATA[Mega Man Sneakers Are Mega Blue]]> More. Video game. Sneakers. Little different this time around, though, because they're not Nikes. Not covered in any obvious logos or colour schemes, either. Then again, they don't need to be.

You can tell long before you read Puma's desperate product description that these are Mega Man sneakers. That kind of electric blue isn't going to be dug up for Gears of War. And if you can't, read Puma's desperate product description, which goes a little something like this:

A fantastic material and color update inspired by Mega Man, a video game first released by Capcom in 1987. Whether you're familiar with the character or not, this synthetic leather material looks and feels like vinyl, giving the upper a shiny, retro-futuristic look. The addition of the perforated underlays, painted eyelets, & video game inspired pixelated emboss on the toe bumper complete this awesome look.

Almost entirely undone by the fact they're also offered in black, which isn't very Mega Man at all.

<![CDATA[The Horror II: Revenge of Tetris Shoes!]]> The Year of the Video Game Shoe continues, this time courtesy of Puma who have inflicted two additional Tetris themed kicks on the footwear buying public. While these two are certainly not as horrendous as the Disc Blaze re-issues already released—if only for the fact that that particular shoe is an eyesore by design—the RS100 and First Round EX entries in the Tetris pack are going to more than likely attract the wrong kind of attention.

I'll stick my Nike SB 720s thank you very much, Mr. Puma! In fact, I'm off to Brooklyn Projects to acquire! Have a good weekend.

<![CDATA[The Horror: Puma Tetris Shoes]]> I spend far too much of my reasonably-hard-earned money on two things. One of them is games. The other, sneakers. Combinations of the two should be a sure thing for me, then, but in this case, no, no it is not. Puma are re-releasing two versions of their old Disc Blaze sneaks in the Spring, only this time, with a Tetris theme. Not, as you'd be forgiven for thinking, an "opening credits of the Fresh Prince of Bel Air" theme.

<![CDATA[Second Live Action Halo Short]]> Mmm, live action Warthog. It looks even more like a puma in real life. GamerSyde has put up this cam footage of the second live action Halo short by Neill Blomkamp and Weta on YouTube, and...well here it is. Not the best quality, but you get the idea. In case you missed the first clip, Arms Race, I've added it after the jump for your viewing pleasure.

<![CDATA[Nintendo Joins Overpriced Portable Case Game]]> Sony may be trailing Nintendo in the handheld sector, but there is one area were Sony clearly dominates—fancy, expensive cases within which to carry your portable of choice. From Emilio Pucci to Porter to Yoshida to Puma, the number of options a fashion conscious PSP owner has is remarkable.

Now, Nintendo is getting into the game, partnering with United Arrows to release a series of pricey DS Lite cases from Briefing, Whitehouse Cox, and United Arrows sub-brand Beauty & Youth. These handsome leather and suede cases range from 8400 yen ($71 USD) to 16800 yen ($142 USD) and are worth every single penny. Or yen. Label whore that I am, I'll humbly request a review sample of each.

<![CDATA[Puma Gear for Your PSP]]>

Sneaker maker Puma has teamed up with Sony for the latest addition to the designer "PS Pictogram" line of PSP carry cases. There's a "three way" UM Cargo Bag, which can be used as a tote, turned into a shoulder bag or a computer carry. Plus, there's a UM CB Bag, a shoulder bag. The Cargo Bag and the CB Bag both come in black and "Dark Shadow," have special pockets for UMDs and the PSP and will retail for 14,700 yen (US $125) and 7,140 yen (US $62) respectively. Did we say "Japan only"? Oh, well, these are Japan only.

<![CDATA[Puma's Criminal Kicks]]> puma-true-crime-rs-100.jpg

Way back in October we reported on a deal that Puma struck with Activision that included a limited edition shoe for True Crime: Streets of New York. Does the giant picture above this text serve as enough of a clue that the shoe is out? Wanna grab a pair? Be in New York City and shop at The Puma Store: Soho, Classic Kicks, Flight Club and Clientele. Good luck.

Thanks noiretoil!
