Sony is forgetting that the Wii is not successful because of the motion controls but the fact that the controls were novel and innovative for it's time. It had an incredible amount of hype, great marketing and goodwill going for it. All of which Sony does not have.
Don't get me wrong, this might be fantastic, it might be a whole lot of fun, but I just don't see it reaching the amount of success they are aiming for.
I understand that these are just patents and it's still early, but this, to me at least, is a sign that Sony has no idea what they want to do with the thing, besides getting in on some Nintendo monies.

It's sort of that, "holy fuck is PS4 going to be amazing or what?"

I still think it's risky: I imagine that, as a controller add-on, it will be about as successful as the DK Bongos for the Gamecube (far less successful than the PSone controller with dual joysticks). But in terms of having a technical concept that works, I think Sony has some really solid ideas. The question is, will they actually carry through?
And as a frustrated Wii owner, will I care if they have an idea that's good but doesn't live up to its full potential?

Sigh.

Into the gap between your couch cushions, obviously. Shut up.

Usually when you see a bandwagon roll on by, it is too late to board it.
Any more peripherals and we will all be drowning in a sea of plastic.
I wonder if we'll need to open a new landfill to dump all of these things?

I was thinking about this the other day. My 256MB flash drive is the equivalent of 256 of those old floppy disks. Incredible.

Like many a main character in a certain science-fiction movie saga, I have a bad feeling about this...

But these sure are some interesting shapes.

I guess I'm on the other end of that spectrum in thinking that it all just seems so damn.. bland.
I mean hell, one of them conjures up the exciting caricature of a doorhandle. Or a plumbing crank.
HARDCORE.

Also, here's a Sony PS3 exclusive. Is this a good game?

It is always sad to lose a good exclusive but now that it is in the same sentence as Haze i guess it can no longer qualify as a "Good" exclusive.

Sorry, Tecmo, but try harder next time.
