<![CDATA[ New/More Screens Of The New PlayStation Store ]]> Courtesy of SCE Japan, here's a few more shots of what the new PlayStation Store will look like when it goes live next Tuesday (April 15). Well, what it'll look like for Japan. The rest of you/us, go right ahead and in your mind's eye substitute those indecipherable lines into something like "Latest Demos", it'll be a little more helpful.

<![CDATA[ PAL PlayStation Store Update ]]> Didn't bother with one of these last week, because the sheer lack of content was just too depressing. This week's little better: sure, there's at least content, but it's still fairly depressing. When the highlights are a graffiti theme and an expansion pack for fl0w, you know things aren't as going as well as they should be.

<![CDATA[ Oh Patapon Demo, Will You Be My Valentine? ]]> Never fear, loners of the world. If your heart's gentle song goes unheard on Valentine's Day, you can always turn your affections towards free electronic entertainment. Like the Patapon demo, which will be out tomorrow. And not just out on the slightly-annoying PC-PSP store, but the PS3 one as well (just for downloading purposes, you can't play it on your PS3), which should make things a little easier for you.

<![CDATA[ Playstation Store Concept Should be Reality ]]> The PS Store is improving...slowly. But the interface leaves a lot to be desired, especially compared to the sleek layout of the XMB. This first image doesn't look all that impressive—but look what happens when you select the Featured tab:

eb3b19fb9115f83f80b8212da531de876g.jpgHorizontal scrolling allows you to check out different media easily within the current interface, taking advantage of the wide aspect ratio to fit numerous large preview images on the screen at once. And general navigation can be as quick and easy as XMB is now.
ae4e20fb78f09b22840e0af4ba7904256g.jpgPlus, the pain in the ass shopping cart interface has been simplified in scrollable icons.

I dread the day when I'll actually visit the PS Store on a regular basis. So go ahead Sony, rip off this design. It's OK if one designer's heart is broken for the good of many. Better yet, just hire him. And then you can sit around the bar, telling interface jokes at LIVE Marketplace's expense (or at least show your face in public).

Thanks Gantz!

<![CDATA[ Sony Pulls More Games Off PSN ]]> 256px-Spyro_2_Ripto%27s_Rage.jpgAfter Sony pulled MediEvil just last week, they have also removed both Spyro 2 and Crash Bandicoot 2 from PSN UK. They report:
This investigation is highly technical and requires some time to work through. We are making progress and we will be communicating with people who bought these items directly within the next 10 days...For Crash Bandicoot 2 the situation is more clear as its removal was purely precautionary.
Note: last week, Spyro 2 was being investigated as a precautionary measure, too. A trio of bad ports is by no means the end of the world, but Spyro is not looking happy, and an angry dragon is the last thing Sony needs on their hands right now.
