Well now I have to get this game for the sole purpose of making the noise Liu Kang makes when performing a bicycle kick as I run at enemies on the battlefield. #mag
I hope this fares well as it will make other developers consider large scale battles and hopefully in the process make dedicated servers more common on consoles thus leading to a higher chance that they won't disappear from PCs.
Unless of course they were going to...use....P2P.......I can't hold it in, AHAHAHAH! #mag
@-MasterDex-: As much as I hate the changes over the PC version, I'm pretty sure all the complaints being made by PC gamers are by those who knew exactly what it is they were getting, picked up the game anyways, and just feel like complaining a bit more. Last time I checked, that's not how boycotts worked D: #mag
@lolgreg: Last I checked you are just assuming that the same people who bought it are the people bitching.
I bitched and I didn't buy it. If you and others want to keep insisting that everyone who is complaining is going to buy it anyway and that we should just shut up, maybe you should go fuck yourself, eh?
Edit: Just an FYI, blanketing every PC gamer who complained about MW2 as a hypocrite isn't nice. You should maybe rethink that in the future.
@Kicken: Considering I'm talking about complaints made by people who have played the game, and are now crying out 'I can't believe I spent money on this.' You know, the complaints providing -MasterDex- with proof that the 'landing gear is beginning to fail'? I'd say it's pretty damn safe to assume that they did buy the game.
So... how bout you be the one who fucks themselves? #mag
@lolgreg: I've been keeping an eye over on the IW forums and I've seen a lot of people who only just signed up after buying the game and discovering the problems after not doing any research, etc.
Most of the people who were complaining beforehand are just laughing at the people who went and bought it for the most part.
@lolgreg: Again, I will inform you that there are people who bought MW2, but these aren't necessarily the people who are against what MW2 has brought to the table. There is a much larger chance of the people claiming poor performance to be the same people who stated things like "People should be optimistic and give it a chance!" than the people who claimed "IW can burn in hell/I'm pirating the fuck out of this".
It is more logical and has the same amount of evidence as your claim.
Aside from that, you said "I'm pretty sure all the complaints being made by PC gamers are by those who knew exactly what it is they were getting, picked up the game anyways, and just feel like complaining a bit more." meaning "Everyone who complaining now must have known about the issues but ignored it and just feel like complaining more (meaning they also complained in the past).". I know this to not be true as I have encountered multiple people (IRL OMG) who have picked up MW2 expecting it to be CoD4+, not CoD4+/-.
You are really coming off to me as calling everyone who complained a hypocrite, which, as I said, is not cool.
Edit: -MasterDex- confirms, cases he have seen typically have newbies complaining and boy-cotters laughing (I'm sure it's a manic-depression type of laughing).
Also, sorry for the double post, but something in the article caught my eye...I haven't been following mag too much, but I noticed that they talk about a level cap and skill tree...does this have something similar to Borderlands? I was actually thinking earlier how it might be fun to have an online class based game, maybe similar to Team Fortress 2, but as you do well you gain experience you can put points into different skills in a skill trees to either improve abilities or gain new ones, like Borderlands. The possibilites would be endless...a 8vs8 or 16vs16 game where everyone would be able to make a custom character that fits their playstyle, and each character could be played in radically different ways.
Ah, the things people come up with in the shower. #mag
@dsi1: Ah, that's a shame. When it said skill tree I was hoping it would be something like Borderlands (not as absurd, of course) where you could put points into skills to learn new abilites and improve old ones...come to think of it, Metal Gear Online had something similar, didn't it? You could choose skills that would suit how you play and give you new abilities, while also being able to improve them. #mag
I seriously do not see this game becoming that engaging unless everybody has a mic. They need to do what Warhawk and Socom did and bundle a mic with this game since it's pretty much necessary this time. #mag
I've never personally been a fan of the other team being able to hear you. It's hard to have a nice conversation with your friends when some douche on the other team decides he wants to be witty and puts his one cent in every time you say something. #mag
@DrowningInMercy: Makes it a bit more realistic though. If someone started yelling into his comms while 10 feet away from you, I'm pretty sure you would hear that... You can talk to your friends over comms all you want, your friends won't hear the enemy douche; plus enemy douche is giving away the fact he's near you. Take the opportunity to put a bullet in his face to shut him up. #mag
@starscar.exe: At the same time that you say there is too much to take in, you say that there isn't much difference between 128v128 and 32v32. I'm confused #mag
Preorder exclusive hats only make those of us who can't afford to buy L4D at launch feel alienated. And it also makes me feel like Valve really hates me for not being able to pay for the game right away.
Dammit Valve, I liked you. What the hell is going on with you? :( #left4dead2
The company wants you to spend more money on their products so they give you an incentive to do so. You don't want to or can't. That should be the end of it. Seriously, alienated? Did it make you feel alienated when the guy in front of you at Subway used a full stamps card to get his sub for free (back when they were doing that) but you had to pay for yours in full? Oh no! The sandwich artists might think less of you!
I swear, people tie their self esteem to the most pointless crap these days. #left4dead2
@Toasticus: I wouldn't know, I don't pay for overpriced sandwiches.
But that rewards system had already been in place. This was just tacked on to get hat obsessors to pay for a game they may not even play once. #left4dead2
@Kitsune Sniper: Just wanted to come back to this and apologize for being so gruff here. I was running on very little sleep at the time and feeling pretty grumpy. #left4dead2
I've never understood the phrase "parallel dimensions." Width is a dimension; the only thing parallel to width is width itself. If anything, it should be a perpendicular dimension. #left4dead2
@AnOkayLumberjack: Perhaps "parallel universe" is more appropriate. What they mean, of course, is the idea that all universes (sometimes seen as dimensions) lie on a flat planes of existence more or less on top of each other. Imagine it like slices of Kraft pre-sliced cheese. They usually stay to themselves, but sometimes... things happen. Perhaps two of the universes bend close to each other and touch. Perhaps a warp or tear in time-space occurs, creating a wormhole between two universes. Perhaps experiments were being done and hats fell off tables.
In the end, just a theory. Completely unprovable at this point. #left4dead2
those are the dimensions humans perceive and travel thorough
there is a suspected 11-20 dimensions.
For example Gravity potentially has a dimension all to itself, hence why it is stupidly weak compared to the 3 other Fundamental Forces.
Some models suggest that parallel dimension (which are more timeliness than dimensions) splinter off whenever a chocie is made(normally mistaken to be a choice a human has made, they actually mean the choice of electrons, or smaller) and it could be possible to jump between these parallel timeliness, but as of yet we have no way of doing that. #left4dead2
@ithyphallus, lazy beareaucrat: I like L4D, I think L4D could be worth the money but I have to say, never before has that image been more appropriate, lol. #left4dead2
@-MasterDex-: o yes, don't get me wrong i love me some L4D and will definately preorder L4d2, but this popped into my head right away when I read "get this spiffy hat".
and spiffy hat indeed, i just logged off TF2 and saw it. #left4dead2
