Best Buy Getting Gears 2 Pre-order RC Tank

So the deal is, whoever preorders GOW2 Limited Edition starting October 5th gets a remote control version of a Centaur tank for free! It’s a COG vehicle from Gears2 and only available at Best Buy. It’s going to be sick. I took a couple of pictures for you guys to check it out.

Banjo-Kazooie Hits XBLA In November, Tooie Next Year

Microsoft has announced that Rare's original Nintendo 64 platformer Banjo-Kazooie will be showing up for purchase on Xbox Live Arcade on November for 1200 Microsoft points. The game has been updated with with requisite achievements and mysterious graphical upgrades, which I certainly hope amount to more than bars on either side of the screen. Fans who don't want to wait quite as long will be able to pre-order the 360 entry in the series, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, for a code that allows them to download the original for free two weeks before it goes live.

Rare's follow up to Banjo-Kazooie, Banjo-Tooie, is also slated to make an XBLA appearance in early 2009. Soon the Xbox 360 will encompass the entire bear / bird trilogy! How can it possibly contain so much awesome?

Warhammer Online Reg Deadline Slips A Few Days

A bit of outrage is stirring among Warhammer Online players who pre-ordered the game, expecting to be able to play through September 22th before having to enter the registration key from a retail box copy. A post at the official Warhammer Online website yesterday revealed otherwise. Now the deadline is *checks watch* several hours ago, so folks who opted for slightly slower shipping now find themselves waiting a weekend to return to their characters, or in extreme cases scrambling for a retail version of the game just to keep themselves from going through withdraw.

We'll be talking to the folks at Mythic shortly regarding the apparent change of plans. Until then, feel free to speculate in the comments section. Perhaps start a betting pool It's Friday, go crazy.

Update: Mythic folks were too busy to talk, but they have posted an update on the site announcing that Amazon, GoGamer, EA Store and The Source (CE online) pre-orders have had their time extended until the 22nd. Full text after the jump.

Warhammer Online's Head Start Dates Revealed

The Warhammer Online "open" is in full swing (sorry about the mess, Europe), though while getting an early look at the game is certainly nice and all, the retail head start is where the real action is at. Mythic Entertainment today reveals that folks who pre-ordered Warhammer Online will get a chance to start building their characters come September 14th, four days before the retail launch. Oh wait, did I say folks who pre-ordered? I meant folks who pre-ordered the Collector's Edition. Those who opted to reserve the standard edition will get access on Tuesday, September 16th, which is only a two-day head start. It's Mythic's way of showing their scalable appreciation for your interest in their product.

Some of you might say this is paying extra for an advantage over other players, which is not true. This is paying extra for a box of cool stuff *and* an advantage over other players. Silly.

Where To Get Your LBP Nariko SackGirl

The location of the final and possibly best LittleBigPlanet pre-order item has been revealed! The official LPB news site has announced that the Nariko SackGirl is an exclusive pre-order bonus from Best Buy stores in the U.S., meaning I might have to tuck away my pride and finally buy $5 of potential game from the retailer, though since Best Buy generally puts their pre-order bonus stuff inside the placeholder boxes on the shelves, it might mean I can snag that code along with the GameStop Kratos for an extra $5.

The Nariko outfit in the UK can be snagged by pre-ordering the game through Play.com, while gamers in the ice spider-infested wilds of Canada are urged to wait a bit longer for an announcement the fiery warrior's sackcloth doppleganger.

Best Buy Fallout 3 Pre-Order Goodie

Kain The Undead sends us this lovely little shot of the Fallout 3 pre-order bonus that comes inside the special hope-crushing fake video game boxes the store likes to put on their shelves to make our heart-skip until we realize it's only a pre-order package.

I work at best buy and i thought you guys might like to know that BB has started doing pre-orders for Fallout 3 and the collectors edition. In the game case you get when you pre-order is a Nuke cola bottle opener. It has a magnet on the back so it can be stuck on your fridge. Maybe not as sweet as a hand puppet, but it's something else that all us Fallout freaks will love!

Do folks actually pre-order games from Best Buy retail locations, or do they just put down some cash to pick up limited-edition bottle openers and pick the games up somewhere else?

Where Should You Pre-Order Little Big Planet?

While we told you about the awesome LittleBigPlanet pre-order goodies last week. we didn't tell you that you aren't getting all of them in one big chunk. Now, what you get with your pre-order depends on where you place your pre-order, as evidenced by the latest posting on the official LittleBigPlanet news site. Today two retailers - Amazon and GameStop - launch their pre-order programs, and both offer a different LBP goodie for you to choose from.

Folks who pre-order from GameStop get the exclusive Kratos in-game model, which is actually a costume in four parts - skin, goatee, blades, and clothing. Meanwhile, Amazon.com pre-orders come with the exclusive "LittleBigPlanet Creator" digital miniguide from Brady Games, possibly indicating that someone at Amazon lost a bet. So it looks like GameStop is on top so far, but they've still got the Nariko SackGirl pre-order location to reveal, and that could be a deal-breaker for me.

Silver PS3's Not *That* Expensive To Import

Although the rumor was circulating last week that the Devil May Cry anime was facing cancellation, this week's Best Buy Ad has a picture of the DVD listing it at $19.99. The ad also claims that the disc will contain twelve episodes but seeing as these things get printed long before the actual delivery date, this may have been done before the rumored cancellation. It still lists the release date of Feb. 5 and the required disclaimer that the date is subject to change. If you're feeling lucky, you can try to pre-order it here at Best Buy or here at Amazon, but just be aware that your money may soon be coming back to you. Or you could always just get store credit and use it to purchase the first and second seasons of Perfect Strangers which comes out the same day. Come on, that cousin Balki is a hoot!
