"In terms of Bungie-produced Halo games," the designer stated, "ODST and then Reach is probably all you're going to get."

Microsoft subsidiary 343 Industries is poised to take over the series after the release of first-person-shooter Halo: Reach.

Bungie is back tracking on Bakken's remark and has deployed community and pr director Brian Jarrard to clean up what the senior designer has stated.

"The clarification is we just don't know at this point. I'm not really able to speculate on what we're going to do after Reach," Jarrard told website VideoGamer.com. "I wouldn't confirm or deny at this point. We're really excited to get Reach out the door. Beyond that, we're not at liberty to say right now what's next."

But...

"I think there's a lot of work just to get Reach done between now and next fall. At that point anything's possible. We're going to keep looking at making the games we want to make. Maybe that's Halo. Maybe it's not. We'll have to wait and see."

Maybe that's Halo. Maybe it's not. Maybe today I will eat a ham sandwich. Maybe I won't. You'll have to wait and see.

<![CDATA[Nintendo: Wii Motion Plus Not Delayed]]> According to game site IGN's Wii podcast, the Wii MotionPlus is delayed. According to Nintendo, it's not.

The IGN podcast, which is often privy to Nintendo announcements before they're announced, stated, "Nintendo is internally struggling with Wii MotionPlus, trying to figure out a few hiccups."

These "hiccups" would mean that Wii Sports Resort would be pushed back along with the Wii MotionPlus add-on. This would make sense someone as the game is MIA on Nintendo's upcoming games list.

All of this Wii MotionPlus delay talk is pure bunk, says Nintendo. Why? "No date was ever announced for MotionPlus — so technically it can't be delayed," Nintendo told game site CVG. Oh ho ho. Foiled by a technicality. Rats!

<![CDATA[No Plans For US PS3 Eternal Sonata Release "At The Moment"]]> Timed Xbox 360 exclusive Eternal Sonata is getting a PS3 release with extra content in Japan. But what elsewhere? According to a Namco Bandai US spokesperson:

I can’t speak for any other territories, but I believe Eternal Sonata is only announced for the PS3 in Japan right now... We have no plans to release the game on the PS3 in the US at this moment.

So no plans "at this moment." But tomorrow? The day after that? Next month? Who knows?!

<![CDATA[Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Multiplayer Makes LucasArts PR Snappy]]> There are some touchy questions. Questions that might turn people curt. Questions that need to be asked. Questions like: Is there any specific reason why there is no multiplayer in Star Wars: The Force Unleashed for the PS3 and Xbox 360? Adam Kahn, Senior PR Manager at LucasArts, answers.

To be specific, there's no multiplayer in the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 versions, because there is on the Wii, PSP, and DS. As far as specific reasons are concerned, we don't really like to get into the reasons why we don't do things because I don't think there's really a satisfactory answer that people would really be happy with. So, there isn't multiplayer and that's kind of how it is...

That's not really PR spin. It's... we dunno what the fuck it is. Just watch out for Adam Kahn. He'll cut you.
