Although, as my friend pointed out, this looks like the kind of place intended to accommodate employees who pretty much live at work.
Often, the most nicely furnished studios do seem to be the ones where management expect employees to work 50+ hour work weeks.

Hmmm.

Will see. So far all the footage of GT5 looks like every other GT game made. They keep making the same game.

I'm promoting your comment with truth my friend.
Neither game is out and the dick measuring has begun....how bout we WAIT and get our hands on them first and then start the fanboy feud...

Who cares? Apparently Japanese developers like Keiji Inafune.

I believe that they both work differently, which is perfectly fine by me. While both sides do milk franchises American games tend to follow the ea sports trend of offering a new chapter/volume to a game every year or every other year. (Japan does this too as well with series such as Dynasty Warriors, but it seems more common with American developers) While this is great at keeping things fresh it will in due time, especially with dlc becoming more acceptable, become stagnant. Hell, even games within the same genre are headed for stagnation. Do we really need this many multiplayer fpses in this short of a timeframe / or does every game have to have fps in it?
Graphics do change and there are some gameplay tweaks, which can be said of any sequel, but the core game remains the same.
I used to want every new sequel but I'm not that way any more. Unless there are significant changes I don't see the point. I stopped caring about fresh coats of paint and new costumes.
So the question is How different is Forza 2 going to be from Forza 3, and will it be substantial enough for those with 2 to care? For that matter will GT5 be that different as well?
It's come down to mostly physics and engines for me.
The last forza came out 2 years ago on the 360. The last GT came out 5 years ago on the ps2. I don't know where either series are headed in terms of dlc as neither forza 3 or gt 5 are out yet. But I'd choose Dlc of new cars over a sequel that doesn't change much. Personally I think it's great for both systems to have racing simulators and I don't see the point the this imaginary dick waving contest because it gains nothing.
It is nothing.

I have a feeling that GT5 has been playing catch-up with, well, everybody. Remember when it wasn't originally going to have car damage? God knows what else they've revisited.

I swear, this commenting system is broken. People like this end up with stars and proceed to troll like this, where the good, thought-provoking comments are buried under this trash. As someone else said, why don't you at least let the fucking games release before you make judgments like this. I don't even play Gran Turismo, but apparently a lot of people do when you consider its worldwide sales. If you can't appreciate this series and a developer that strives for perfection without waving their dicks about like the guys at Turn 10 do, then just buy Forza and keep your trap shut.

Then most Japanese developers are ignorant? Because there the ones saying it.

Exactly!

And GTPSP's gameplay sounds a looooot like Tourist Trophy, loved by some, but mostly forgotten by the most. And I personally think that the very idea of GTPSP is misdirected anyway. They should've just focused entirely on GT5 and left PSP market to more arcadey titles. Like Motorstorm, which actually sounds like the perfect example.
Then again, T10 took some shortcuts by reusing old car models...
And lot less cars...
But we'll see. We'll see if that 950 car roster has 300 versions of Civics or not. If they really spent 5 years making every trim levels of Civics and GT-Rs. I'll be properly angry.

The difference now is that more genres of gaming are opening up at a quicker rate due to introduction of downloadable games. It a safe way to try new genres with a lower risk. Personally I think fully priced games genres are lagging behind downloadable games in the "try new things" department.
Lagging in terms of development time is a different issue all together especially if the quality of the game shows it. Also depending on the size of the team as well and the background work. I'm not saying that they will succeed with gt5, nor will I give excuses for the time it took.
I'm just patent with it. For the most part PD has been consistent. it's fine with me that they've taken this long. Also I'm glad that there is FM to give GT new ideas or force them into growing. It's fine with me if FM may be better as well if it makes PD up their development process. Regardless of what PD says GT was one of the few successful games on the console market in that genre before FM was released. FM is their competition. Even if PD are not actively looking at it the fans are, and they have to know the audience if not they're not making anything other then Star Wars Episode 1. PD basically was caught in an isolated bubble and now they're paying for it with more dev time.
And I'm ok with that. I'll wait. I've no doubt just better make the best damn racing game they possibly could at this stage and not hold anything back or expect to make a sequel. That's what I really want to see.

I'm pretty sure you still are. Just because you try to justify your stupid comments with "Oh, it sparks debate!" on a place like the internet is ridiculous. I understand debate, but you didn't even back up anything you said with support or in an open-minded way. Just spewing stupid assumptions to bash the developers. How the fuck do you know what they've been doing in "those rooms" for the last five years? I'm not trying to insult you, personally, but pointing out how trollerific your comments are.
