Japan Only Limited Edition DS Finally Comin' Stateside
One of our friendly, GameStop-employed readers let us know that Nintendo will be bringing a new-old limited edition Nintendo DS to North America soon. When? I said "soon," dammit! The black DS features Pokémons Palkia and Dialga from the Pearl and Diamond version of the game and was previously only available at Pokémon Center stores in Japan. Take that, Japan exclusivity! Snag Manaphy At Toys R Us Saturday
Those of you who follow Pokemon fanatically know what a bitch it is to get your hands on a Manaphy, the legendary water Pokemon who can only be found via an egg transferred from Pokemon Ranger. Well kotakuite Agies has informed us that this Saturday from 12-3PM, Toys R Us stores around the country are offering the rare critter via in-store download, along with $5 off any DS game you buy when you stop by to continue your catching of them all. Otherwise you either have to trade or suffer through Pokemon Ranger, which is considered in some countries an advanced form of torture. -

Pokemon Global Trading Station Launches Today
Pokemon fans around the world rejoice! At 5PM Central European Time today, Nintendo is launching the Global Trading Station website, allowing you to stay up to date on the latest Pokemon trading trends across the globe. The site will feature a bevy of stats on Pokemon trading, including most traded, most wanted, and most deposited, and they will be able to bookmark any Pokemon they discover via the site for when they use the GTS in game. The site will also feature a spinnable globe that will let players check out trades around the world while learning facts about the various countries, such as capital cities, population, native language, etc. See? Remember the good old days when gaming was cheap and simple primary colors like red and blue made us happy? But being the vigilant consumers that we are, before we knew it, we'd upped the ante to gold and silver and ruby and sapphire. Now what to we get? Diamonds. Freakin' diamonds. What Do Kids Want? Pearl and Diamonds
To encourage parental nagging in Japan, The Pokemon Company is including special figurines with reserved copies of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl for the DS. Reserve both and get a special third mysterious figurine! Pre-reserves start August 8th, and the game drops at the end of September.
