This game is great fun, but the controls are dreadful. i think movement should have been on the control pad, and screen movement by perhaps holding a trigger and then control pad... that would of saved a lot of failed attempts
@Outkastprince: the fact that you can write "God" and "Kraaken" and watch them battle it out.
the fact that each item has its own properties so that they'll interact correctly. you can write a vampire into the screen and then write garlic and the vampire will be repelled by the garlic.
you can also combine objects. you can, for instance, take a strip of cloth or something, a lazer cannon and a shark and combine them to chase after the t-rex-driving fisherman holding a steak on the end of his fishing pole that you'd summoned earlier.
Today was the Scribblenauts launch at the Nintendo World Store. Unfortunately I couldn't make it, but it looks like there were plenty of eager fans waiting to buy the game.
@Fernando Paramo: Dangit... I need to move to NYC... where else will there ever be a mass gathering of people wearing Scribblenaut hats.
I'm not even sure if I'm getting mine... I preordered the game on Sept. 1st, so I'm not sure if I was too late or what... just gonna have to go Tuesday to find out.
God, this game is fantastic. I'm going to get very little accomplished for the next few months, as I'll constantly have words pop into my mind, and I'll constantly be checking to see if Scribblenauts has it.

Other than his skin (it should just be tan) and his face (He doesn't have eyebrows and the eyes should be higher), plush Maxwell is absolutely awesome!
Argh!!! Those are so awesome....Every time I see an overpriced toy I get sad because I want one but can't justify spending that kind of money on myself. Damn you, Japanese toy makers!
I preordered my Patapon a few days ago. It's expensive for sure but it's also very, very cool. I want a Loco Roco plushie as well, I'm not much into statues and other collectibles but plushies I like -already own a slime and a Chocobo

Just wondering, what is it about this game that makes a lot of you excited? Just curious so I can jump on the bandwagon with you all.

I do got a DS and games on it are usually cheap (compare to consoles) so I might pick it up, especially if it comes with the hat.
Note: Reminds me of when my girlfriend caught me "glancing" at a half naked girl on T.V.
I know I wrote "Dagger of Time" on a piece of paper and still ended up with what some would call "The worst beating of a man using a iron curler ever"
Just noting that this idea does not translate well in real life. AT.ALL.

I really need to get my DS phat (RIP lite D:) shipped up here pronto. I never played Phantom Hour Glass so should I be wary of the controls?

Are you asking about the Scribblenauts controls of PH ones?
PH - excellent, never a problem
Scribblenauts - pretty loose, pretty messy, but rarely is it actually a big deal

All you have to do is bury some tasty meat and a stick to create your own.
