@Fontane:
Everytime I give up they release soemthing cool. Hopefully we get a few more good ones this year but I doubt it. Only 4 more Thursday's to go until 2010.
I put on my 360 & PS3 at the same time and switched between inputs. I can say without a doubt. Bayonetta looks better on 360. The colors are richer and the pixels aren't rough around the edges. It has a nice clean look.
The 360 one was running in 1080p, as I have my 360 display on 1080p. My TV display tells me its running in 1080p as well. Whether it's true 1080p I don't know.
The PS3 version looks flat and just a tad bit of jaggies here and there. It's running at 720p and my TV display also says 720p.
@Orionsaint: Bayonetta does look better on the 360, but the 360 version probably really isn't running in 1080P. The 360 can upscale all games to 1080P, regardless of what the game is actually rendering in. For example, Halo 3 actually renders in 640P.
Jeez... even their marketing imagery makes the game look like a MW2 ripoff...
You know where the Medal of Honor series belongs? In the past... and I don't mean World War II- I mean a fond memory of an era of gaming that is now OVER.
The MoH brand has lost all of it's meaning and credibility to gamers over the last several years. I think it has to do with the fact that the people responsible for making the series what it was, are now called Infinity Ward.
Just a guess.
My question is this, EA: With Bad Company 2 coming out in a few months, why would I need another DICE (co)developed shooter next year? And why would you think I'd care about the Medal of Honor brand after you've spent years wiping your asses with it?
While you're busy sodomizing old IP (Dante's Inferno aside), why not try your hand at making another Matrix game?
At least then the competition wouldn't so intimidating... or the brand legacy.
This is sad.... MOH series got side stepped by COD and never recovered, while this war period shift is expected, I don't see how this will save MOH from getting beaten by COD.
Battlefield series came out first with its modern warfare setting, but got side stepped by COD4, COD is now the "de facto" modern warfare shooter franchise. COD4 at the same time, indirectly attacks the WW2 shooters genre, how they're so last gen, and how modern warfare shooters are where it's at right now. The media are not helping either, with many gaming sites mentioning how the market is oversaturated with WW2 shooters and how we don't need another one.
When this MOH comes out later, people will see this game as a third rate modern warfare game behind BFBC2 and COD MW2.
@rich8606: Call of Duty sidestepped the Medal of Honor series when all of the talent behind Medal of Honor quit working for EA to start Infinity Ward and make games for Activision instead.
Pretty ironic, actually. Medal of Honor made WW2 games really popular, and then Call of Duty replicated the idea and eventually took over.
Now Medal of Honor is trying to rebound by doing the same thing.
But the question is what new category will they have once people get tired of MW (like CoD with with MW instead of WW2)? Medal of Honor: Civil War? Roman Empire? MOON WARS?
@rich8606: Well, this isn't a full copy, either. My point's still the same. It's ironic that they're trying to better the series that only established itself by bettering them in the first place (wow, that's confusing to read).
@bangbangblah: Medal of Honor was created by the same people who created Call of Duty. Infinity Ward was founded by ex-EA staffers who worked on the original MoH games...hence the similarity.
This doesn't have to go the way of MW2. If it truly is "authentic", then it'll be vastly different from the new CoD franchise. No Russians in Virginian suburbs, and no "Witchblades" jumping 30 feet and knifing you from 4 feet away.
That's not criticism of MW2. It's just not an "authentic" war game. Or even an attempt at one.
@Jonn:
Lol I thought it was Prince of Persia for a second to. Then I thought it was a Medal of Honor movies. Then I realized it's just a new Medal of Honor game imitating call of duty.

I'm actually surprised they released RE 2 and 3 so close to each other.
COD Classic is 5$ too much for me to want it, though.

i thought it was awesome that the demos let you play different areas of the game.
it has a classic sega/capcom (arcadey) feel to it, and thats a good thing for me.

How's that play out? like a giant white flag and a snoody comment?

For example, how many games have used the SIXAXIS functions lately?
