@GohanGVO: The thought of using the nub to paint, coupled with the small screen size, sounds pretty painful. But I imagine it'd be doable. They need to release either a PS2 "greatest hits" copy or PS3 port or something. This game needs to be out there so people can play it. #okami
@GohanGVO:
PS2 actually used both analog sticks.
One for controlling the brush, the other for controlling the camera in paint mode.
Could you make the game work on the PSP? Sure. ALL control schemes are adaptable.
Would anybody in their right mind WANT to, though?
...probably not!
At any rate, an Okami port would suck on the PSP if only because it's the kind of game you want to play for long stretches at a time. That small screen would kill it for me quick.
I'm hoping that Okamiden is kind of structured a little differently so it lends itself to shorter play times. #okami
@Sarcasmancer: Yeah, I think it's that hair. Amano loved putting blonde hair on his women. The vague colors too, he always had a washy look to his art as well.
I don't get why they couldn't have just made her regularly proportioned. She looks like such a freak of nature.
Interesting note: Old artists from the renaissance used to elongate the figure as well because it was thought to be more beautiful.
God. I hate stylized art and character design. There's something inherently wrong with characters that don't look normal. Cartoons? Hate 'em. They make me vomit into my throat. Porky Pig's head is just too big, and the Roadrunner's head? Well, it's just too small. If those character designers and art directors thought that designing animals that didn't actually look like animals was going to appeal to people, they though wrong. Disgusting. It's the same way with comics.
And what the hell was up with Charlotte's Web? Spiders don't have a head of hair and faces that look human! I don't understand how people could like that sort of thing.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm jealous of all the coverage this game is getting, I mean, Uncharted 2 just came out, and it's the best game I've ever played, but is Kotaku posting about Uncharted 2 every day? No! I have to go into TAY every day and start an Uncharted 2 appreciation thread just to see it on Kotaku every day! I know that there are still news stories about Bayonetta coming out frequently, but that doesn't mean that you game journalists have to cover it. That's not your job. I guess that leaves me no choice but to try to convince people not to buy a game that I don't wanna play. Thank you, Kotaku, for making my life miserable by forcing me to respond to news articles about games I don't like.
@Rebochan: No, I just need people to validate my totally rational anger toward this game because of unrealistic proportions.....unless you have UiHug.jpg on hand? #bayonetta

Proportions are skewed to achieve an effect, to convey something about the character and this skewing of proportions is based off life.
For instance, children have proportionally larger heads and eyes than adults. So giving a character larger eyes/head gives them a look of innocence. Every time you see a well-designed character, there is a reason for each and every deviation from life.
In Bayonetta's case, however, her tiny head conveys nothing. It looks weird and doesn't transmit any character traits. This sort of error is forgivable in many cases, but not when you have to stare at the malproportioned character constantly. #bayonetta
@mintycrys is HOT for Bayonetta: *gasp* Anyone else hear that? Its the sound of something...not quite sure what it is....but its flying over some of our heads a lightning speed! #bayonetta
@AsWater: @FightingChance: This community is getting worse and worse at locating and identifying joke material. I'm glad to see that not all of us are new at the interwebs. #bayonetta
Well...unless Kamiya grows the onions necessary for us to see Bayonetta in the complete buff....I have to rely SOLELY on my hentai stash of Bayonetta goodness.
The stash says..'Yes, the carpet matches the drapes.' #bayonetta
@Rachel Fogg: LOL nice! I was trying to find a clip from Forgetting Sarah Marshall, to reply with in which Chuck aka Kunu says, "I like her hair... I wonder if the carpet matches her pubes" #bayonetta
WTF is with all the 'Why so many Bayonetta threads ewww' comments? If you are not interested in the game, don't read it.
Nobody needs to hear your assinine whining about the plethora of threads on a subject INSIDE that subject. If you really have to bore us with your crybaby posts, do it in TAY where you can post on any topic you want.
I'm not a Bayonetta fanatic, as anyone who reads my posts will know, but I am strictly anti-whine. The fact you don't see grey 'I hate this not news crap' comments disemvowelled is starting to wear thin.
What the SHIT is with all this Bayonetta crap? Every 5 posts is Bayonetta something. What is this game even about anyway, and why does Kotaku care so much? #bayonetta
@shaunmcilroy: Is it? All I've seen is posts about costumes and head sizes. I still don't even know what the game is about, or even what system it's for. #bayonetta
@shaunmcilroy: Click on the #bayonetta thread and look how far you have to go back before any actual information about the game is presented. That's all I'm saying.
@Brett Benedict: Ha ha, seems you are just a bit too busy to read, fyi, this game is on PS3 & 360, sort of a female version of DMC. Free demo is out already on both systems, have a go, it is fun especially those magic combos. #bayonetta

Fret not, Kotakuites. I'm sure there will be bonus costumes to unlock. Well, hopefully they're unlockable and not downloadable... -__-;
As for me, I personally don't care too much what Bayonetta looks like (as long as it's not gaudy/distracting/crappy). This game is the spiritual successor to DMC, and I'll buy it based on the gameplay alone.

Would it work just as well on a PSP? Would the jump from console to handheld work for this game?
I'm not sure, thats why i'm asking.
If it would, then bring on a PSP version of the game.
It might give a few more people the chance to experience the game. #okami

The most important aspect of Okami is the painting, and it wouldn't really work on the PsP. #okami

Personally, I would be more upset at the loss of camera control found in the PS2 version. #okami
