The subtitle for Plain Sight is "Kill Yourself", and there's a god reason. You are a robot, killing other robots for points. The more points you get, the bigger and brighter you become. We've seen this sort of thing before, yes? Here's the twist - you only get to bank points if you kill yourself before the others kill you. Not only do you have to be good at robot killing, you also have to know when to throw in the towel, which adds a nifty little element of strategy / gambling to the game.

To participate in the open beta, hit up the link below and download the game. That's it, no account needed - just download the 128 MB file and go. Happy hunting. Make sure you kill yourself in a timely fashion.

About Beatnik Games

Plain Sight is developed by an independent game studio based in central London, called Beatnik games - a small team of six people working in a shoe box sized room with no air-conditioning.

“We’re lucky” says studio head Robin Lacey “our investors get no influence on our output, and we aren’t tied into any hellacious publishing contracts, which leaves us able to do what we love best - creating innovative and fun games for our fellow gamers to play… and drinking coffee.”

<![CDATA[Plain Sight Trailer Goes Boom]]> London-based indie studio Beatnik Games have released a trailer for their debut title - Plain Sight.

Plain Sight is a multiplayer action title for PC and Xbox 360. Players control cute little robot skeletons that fly around a stylized environment and hit each other with swords to amass points. To 'bank' your points, you must blow yourself up - taking out as many of your rivals as possible.

Yes, it is essentially a game about suicide bombing robots. But it's ok - they are cute! And the background looks a bit like Tron, which can't be bad.
