Color me confused, but I honestly have a hard time believing that this game has so many vocal fans. I tried the demo and was seriously unimpressed. The only pinball videogame that has regularly wowed me and my friends is the Pinball Hall of Fame series, particularly the Williams collection. It's particularly fun played on the Wii, since you can shake the controllers to bump the cabinet.
After playing The Williams Collection, we found Pinball FX to be slow and clunky. The simulated physics is everything and I don't consider the two games to be even in the same league.
I'm curious, could folks pipe in if they've played both games and tell us honestly how they think Pinball FX compares?
I heard one of the managers at work conversing with someone from corporate today about random things...and he mentioned Street Fighter II. If this is what he's talking about, then CEC is getting Street Fighter Pinball!
Excellent news. My girlfriend and I still play this game, constantly trying to beat each other's score. I was afraid they dropped support of the game since it's been a while since they released a new table. If they keep creating new ones, I'll keep buying them.
I need to fire up this title again. Its one of my earlier Live purchases so its been a while. Good game though. So many other pinball games have crap physics while this one has always felt faily decent.
This is the only time I wished I had an XBox. That looks like a lot of fun. I'm still waiting for a pinball sim for the PS3. Until then I'll be spending my time on LBP.
Pinball FX is a great game if you like pinball. It's not like other games in that there's no story or overarching goal (as you may've guessed). It's just good, old fashioned "beat your top score" pinball.
I haven't downloaded any of the DLC tables. I was trying to find reviews for the Rocky & Bullwinkle and Haunted Mansion ones but without luck.
Metallicorphan, thanks for your opinion, it's the first I've heard.
I like the demo table (it's the street-racing one) and agents. Extreme is just... really hard to have fun with, but if you practice it ain't bad. The pirates table is pretty cool though too.
Honestly, I couldn't care less about Street Fighter. But I just may buy the other two tables.
@mistersneak: I disagree. If you like pinball, then you'll hate Pinball FX. I own four real pinball machines (3 Williams, 1 Stern). Once you've played real pinball, that actually has challenging and fun rules, you can't really enjoy the lameness of Pinball FX's tables.
Their graphics and physics engines are great though. If they could license real pinball machines, designed by people who know what they're doing, then it would be really cool.
@Jonny_eh: I love pinball. I've played pinball for 30 years. I love Pinball FX. Unfortunately I don't own an actual machine (I would love to), and Pinball FX is a quality substitute.
the rocky and bullwinkle and haunted mansion tables are far better than the tabels you got with the game..and the pirate one..IMO anyway,i think it was the Extreme table that i hated Agents one is so-so

Speaking of which, a 3D version of the Android table would make me a very happy puppy. Hear me, Dude Huge? Epic Pinball 2. Make it happen.

I don't mind spending the cash but only if it's a great table (ie: not the 'Extreme' table that comes with the base game).

And yes, Extreme is terrible.
