I've also finally unwrapped my copy of Cruis'n for the Wii and Neo Geo Battle Colosseum for the PlayStation 2, which should make for so bad it's good and actually pretty good diversions. I've also charged up the Nintendo DS and plan on wasting plenty of my time playing Picross. It may very well make it into my top ten of 2007. No joke.

Anyone want to get a game of TF2 on this weekend? If not, what else are you playing? Hit us square in the comments as soon as possible.

<![CDATA[What Are You Playing This Weekend?]]> It's gonna be a hell of a weekend. While my body adjusts to Pacific Daylight Time—curse you Japan Time!—I'm sure to have bouts of insomnia. I suppose I could complain, but I'm sure it will afford me the opportunity to squeeze in some gaming while the better half is zonked out. I only picked up a handful of things while in Japan—Parodius Portable and Sega Ages: Space Harrier Collection—but I'm fully caught up in Jeanne D'Arc and, of course, Picross DS. Plus I have Tokyo Bananas to eat!

Console time sounds unlikely, despite my wishes to wrap up Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, but exciting new developments may be brewing in that regard. Could my second HDMI port finally find a mate in an Xbox 360 Elite? Maybe! Since I'll be checking the comments on the post around 4 AM my time as my body goes "WTF?", I'd love to know what you're playing this weekend.

<![CDATA[What Are You Playing This Weekend?]]> With a trip to Tokyo via Los Angeles just around the corner, I'm going to have to find something to keep myself occupied in between failed attempts at sleeping and demanding another serving of alcohol from the sky waitress on my long flight. Picross DS helped while away the 14 hour trip to Leipzig, but I'll be (finally) picking up Jeanne d'Arc for my next leg of travel. I don't expect this weekend will leave much time for gaming, so I'll probably only find a few hours to dedicate to Metroid Prime 3: Corruption in between packing, cleaning, brushing up on conversational Japanese and other obligations. Maybe some of this week's recently released demos will get some "me time."

Anyone pick up a title from this week's releases? Any lucky PAL citizens enjoying the Hanabi Festival? Let us know what you're playing this weekend in the comments.

<![CDATA[What Are You Playing This Weekend?]]> Some of you will have weekends rich with BioShock or Madden, but I'll be sticking to handheld systems for not only this weekend, but for the next fortnight. Tomorrow, I fly to Leipzig for next week's Games Convention and GC Developers Conference, meaning I'll be in the air or at an airport for just about 15 hours. That means I'll be wracking my brain with Picross DS, revisiting Advance Wars: Dual Strike, and probably picking up something new for the Nintendo DS or PSP. Too bad Level 5's Jeanne d'Arc releases next week, while I'm in Germany. Any other suggestions?

And while you're in the comments, providing sage portable gaming advice, answer me this: what are you playing this weekend?

<![CDATA[What Are You Playing This Weekend?]]> Yesterday and today saw this Kotaku associate editor playing a trio of this fall's bigger hits, including the one I'm able to chat about, Activision's Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. This weekend I think I'll be sticking to older fare, as my recent purchase of Beyond Oasis for the Sega Genesis means I'll finally get my hands on this action-RPG classic. For what I'm playing beyond Beyond Oasis, I expect that Picross DS will consume to soak up most of my free time. It's all rather dull isn't it? Your input is far more exciting.

So, let's have it. What are you playing this weekend? To the comments with you!

<![CDATA[Korea Getting New Elite Beat Agents Songs?]]> Nintendo of Korea is localizing a trio of games into Hangul: Elite Beat Agents, Picross DS, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. NoK is handling the translating duties, so it looks like the games will get proper releases. (Good news for Koreans traditionally neglected by Nintendo!) What is intriguing is the Elite Beat Agents release. Will it have Korean popstars like BoA or Rain or will it stick with the Sum 41 and the Ashlee Simpson? I sure hope not. For Korea's sake.

<![CDATA[What Are You Playing This Weekend?]]> I'm going to keep this one brief (yet again). I'm also going to rub a little something in the Kotaku collective face, as I will be playing StarCraft II this weekend—and lots of it. That's 'cause I'm at BlizzCon, right now, pounding convention center floor, covering the Con for Kotaku. If it's any consolation, I'm running on four hours sleep. Upon my return from the Anaheim Convention Center, the only games I'll be playing are Ninja Gaiden Sigma (almost... there...) and Picross DS.

Anyway, what are you playing this weekend?

<![CDATA[Wii Picross Makes Picross DS Wait Slightly Easier]]> If you've got the Picross itch, you needn't dig up your Mario's Picross Game Boy cart or suffer through the agonizing 48 hour wait for the domestic release of Picross DS. Thanks to the Internet, Picross can now be played at home, on your Wii, via the web site WiiPicross.com. Obviously not affiliated with Nintendo in any way, Wii Picross will slake your puzzle thirst with a series of already available and released daily nonogram puzzles, all in handy Wii-sized format.

<![CDATA[Picross DS Awesome Impressions]]>

Of the dozen titles on hand at the Nintendo Media Summit, none captured my imagination more than Picross DS. After a 45-minute gameplay bender, I simply could not suppress the puzzle lust burning in my figurative loins. I asked of everyone, "Did you play Picross DS?!" As the game isn't due to come stateside until July 30, it's going to be an agonizing wait. But since Picross has seen three (or eleven, depending on your hair-splitting preferences) games released on Nintendo platforms, and only one of those has come to the West in the form of Mario's Picross for the Game Boy, we should be used to waiting.

The description of Picross gameplay might turn you off, so I'll do my best to keep you interested. Picross DS is awesome, features dozens of puzzles, daily challenges, and a built-in editor. It's perfectly suited for the DS and not unlike seeing the face of God on a touchscreen. Yes, I'm quite serious.
