Races are a big issue as well. 40k has about... 8, 9 differing factions? It'd be difficult to fit these all in and if you take the DoW approach of starting small and adding in then you're bound to disappoint some people. Not to mention balance and PVP. Pretty much everyone in 40k is opposed to everyone else. Outside of the clusterfuck that's the imperium everyone would have to be against everyone else. Would make PVP a nightmare to get perfect.
The source gives this the potential to be awesome in so many ways. Unfortunately it's counterbalanced by the amount of ways this could go so horribly wrong. Like making everyone play as Ultramarines (ick).

i just think they should make guilds mandatory. then the guild leader is the comander and the others are foot soildiers est.

Depends on where you are. I'm eating my lunch right now. There's a problem with that anyway. It'd give the guild leader too much power unfairly. Everyone would want to form their own guild just so they could be the commander.

It could either become the single greatest MMO if done right or the single most mediocre MMO laced with broken dreams(and not the kind that those Marines make).

In fact, the game maybe more like Planetside than an RPG.

I hope not. It'll really break the feel of the game to see twenty dozen dreadnoughts tromping across the field.

Ever since I heard about Warhammer Online I thought it was 40k (didn't know about warhammer fantasy).
All I've wanted is 40K online with all the crazy Chaos side dudes.

I've played a couple of 40K games and while I don't know a whole lot about the universe the style and personality of it has me really excited.

I also picked up L4D2 from their 5day1day sales which was a decent price for a recently released game.

Started using Steam because of Orange Box and D2D because of an indie game called City Rain.

I'd like to hear some of the actual reasoning though.

If there were dedicated servers, at least on PC you would be able to disable nukes. Just sayin'.

This is just a wild stab in the dark but why don't you jsut not play the multiplayer
11/30/09
Yeah we had this awesome thing on PC called dedicated servers. Where there was actually control over who was playing. So people like this were kicked/banned.
Crazy idea right...
Boy am I glad they got rid of that in a hurry!

I think if he purchased the game, he wouldn't play multiplayer, but he still has to PAY for the multiplayer aspect of the game. So if he plays just the SP portion, he's paying for the full-game when he only actually wants half of the experience (and half is probably too generous from what I'm hearing).

MW2 acknowledges camping as a valid tactic. Tactical insertions allow you to quickly respawn by your spot, sentry guns allow you to set up an automated camper, or guard a blind spot, and heck, even care packages allow you to lure targets. Oh, and you can hide your position with silencers, cold-blooded, ninja, etc.
Similarly, MW2 gives plenty of tools to combat campers. Grenades, heartbeat sensors, and all of the various tools that allow you to hide your position as you approach a camper. And of course the killcam.
It's very easy to kill all but the most hardened camper if you're smart about it. After all, when you know the position of your target, your job is made easier.
Don't like campers? Kill them. As an occasional camper, one player can force me to stop camping fairly easily. If there's no profit in camping, why bother?
Oh, and on a related note, people who complain about camping on any mission types which involve defending a point...yeah, something's wrong with that complaint.
