    Come on guys. Give the dog a break. All I'm reading here are comments out of jealousy. At least it seems so. It's a nice move by Microsoft. Also and mainly publicity stunt (you wouldn't have guess that, would you?). Live with it.

    If you want your five minutes of fame, have an interesting and compelling story on national television. None of your little stories so far will make it though. Not nearly gruesome enough. Or nice enough. #xbox360

    This is a lame PR stunt, whether the story is true or not. And before you call me a fanboy, it would still be lame on PSN or WiiWare. Probably worse on PSN since you don't have points to convert to and Oscar might buy Pretty Ponies Deluxe Combo pack for $99.99, if there was such a thing on there. #xbox360

    "You must be an Xbox LIVE Gold member to send messages."

    You have got to be kidding me. Some how I don't buy that the same Microsoft that nickel and dimes users for things like character-limited instant messages is also a company that gives back to its users when they're in trouble. #xbox360

It comes out to what, 4 dollars a month? Some people spend more than that a DAY on their morning coffee and most everyone spends more than that a week on junk food and novelties. #xbox360

    It's for their public image. They took a funny story that may have been true or not, made the guy happy, improved their image, and got chuckles out of people.

    @Kris: Given, it's cheap. Ain't no denying that =p . But, retarded... I'm not so sure. Advertising is necessary, and a good public image sells.

    If that small gesture they did pushed one sell out of a sympathetic reader, then that's one freebie sale they made.

    My sister accidentally bought a World at War map pack, and I don't even own the game. She turned on a controller that was synced to my Xbox, which was in another room, and started mashing A on it. The dashboard defaulted to the Spotlight tab "Map Pack out! BUY IT NOW!", so she ended up wasting 800 points without knowing.

    How come I can't get those 800 points refunded, and a gamertag and controller for my sister? #xbox360
