Wrong. He's erased from time in the opening cutscene, so it's not like you get to go kill him.

120-year anniversary of Hitler and the 10-year anniversary of the Columbine massacre. I never knew the two were on the same day and am curious if the Columbine murderers planned it that way? They were big fans of the original Doom and Wolfenstein.

Over here celebrating Hitler's birthday (even by virtually killing him) would get you in all kinds of trouble with the law.

At least now I know why Snoopy vs. the Red Baron was never released here. Glad I imported a PSP copy (controls are crap though unfortunately).

There is no American version of Innocent Sin. The Hitler fight is one of the reasons why people think Atlus never brought it over. We got the second Persona 2 game, Eternal Punishment, instead.

@patapon: People seem to forget the atrocities were perpetrated by his high ranking officers and their subordinates. And the "Final Solution" itself was thought up and put into execution by Himmler, not Hitler.

Plus more than 6 million people died. People also forget the blacks, homosexuals, political dissidents, Gypsies, disabled, etc. were all part of those exterminated too.

But yeah, Hitler, bad, bad guy.

I would like to point out that Stalin murdered over 6 million people and yet he's been quite underrepresented in the gaming community compared to Hitler. Hopeful the up-incoming "Stalin vs Martians" game will decrease the gap between number killed and times killed.

@Duin: The final solution could have been avoided if Hitler just said no. But when it came to Hitler's goal of a 'perfect' Germany, what could he have done? No one was taking in the Jews, blacks, homos, etc.

All he could have done was kill them off.

Hitler is still a giant douche bag though.

@Duin: Ah, you're right about people only learning "Hitler = Evil." Himmler was a horrible person indeed though, but as you said, all of his goons were.

Y'know, I've always wondered how Hitler got away with spouting off those ideals to all those Germans, without being questioned about his own appearance and background.

As much as I hate the whole Nazi movement and everything that revolves around it, Hitler and Goebbels were quite the hype-men.

Also, do you enjoy history or is this just a WWII thing?

@Duin: That's just it. Stalin sports an everyman moustache. If you saw Stalin on the street, you could assume he was a firefighter, an older gay man, or part of Mythbusters. He'd blend right now. You can't do that with the Hitler. Even Mr. Pitt couldn't get away with it.

@an skyline: I have a love for all world history. It's the things that have shaped the very world around us, and by knowing more about our past we can have a better understanding of our present, from which we can shape a better future.

World War II is possibly my greatest interest though, considering it was the biggest conflict in human history. Which is still affecting our lives to this day.

I think more people should take a greater interest in history.
