He died in 1945, but lives on in video games as the eternal bad guy.

"Celebrate" Hitler's B-day or just seize an excuse to play video games with the following titles where the Fuhrer makes many an appearance either as a vague threat or an actual character you can kill (or at least punch).

Note: This list was put together from two different lists and half-remembered boss fights from my childhood; if you spot an inaccuracy or want to add to the list, hit me up in the comments.

<![CDATA[New Operation Darkness Screens, Now With More WWII Zombies And Werewolves]]> Atlus' Operation Darkness, developed by Success, is due out in the U.S. on June 24th, but all of you desperately curious about the werewolf and zombie-infested World War II strategy RPG can tide yourselves over on these new screens in the meantime.

The art they've got on the official website is rather beautiful, if scary - like, weren't Nazis scary enough? Why zombie nazis?

That's right. Because it makes it seem awesome.

<![CDATA[Operation Darkness Operating Darkly]]> When I posted new screenshots of Spectral Force 3 yesterday, several of you mentioned that you'd rather wait for Atlus' other upcoming Xbox 360 game, Operation Darkness, the tactical RPG that answers the age old question, "What if their were zombies and werewolves in World War II?" These screens mainly deal with the inner workings of the Success developed game, due out June 24th in the States, but still. You asked for Operation Darkness, you got Operation Darkness. Atlus must read this stuff. Ooo, next time ask for a pony!

<![CDATA[Proper Operation Darkness Trailer]]>
Ah, Operation Darkness. A tactical RPG set in WWII. But with vampires and werewolves. Last time we saw it, I was getting a little down on it. The fact they were pretty rough trailers may have contributed. But this? This has revived my flagging spirits. Mostly because it's as cheesy as a triple-cheese sandwich with cheese for bread. And I do like cheese.

<![CDATA[Operation Darkness Trailers]]>
What, just the promise of WW2, Nazis, vampires and werewolves all in one game wasn't enough for you? Fine. Here's a couple of character-specific trailers. The one above's for Vlado, who is - what else - a Nazi vampire. After the jump's one for Camilla. A Nazi in need of a good and proper reminding of what is and what is not appropriate battlefield attire.

Hrm. Kooky setting aside, looks quite rubbish, actually. Bummer.

<![CDATA[Atlus Comes To The Xbox 360]]> Publisher Atlus has joined the ranks of third-party publishers bringing Xbox 360 games to North America, announcing today the localization of Operation Darkness and Spectral Force 3. Largely known for the North American publishing of games like Odin Sphere, Persona and the Trauma Center series, the company's first two titles are a pair of tactical RPGs already released in Japan.

Operation Darkness sees players take on a supernatural Adolf Hitler in an alternate universe World War II and Spectral Force 3 involves a fantasy world embroiled in the Great Neverland War. Teaser sites for both Operation Darkness at Spectral Force 3 are now up at the official Atlus site.
