120-year anniversary of Hitler and the 10-year anniversary of the Columbine massacre. I never knew the two were on the same day and am curious if the Columbine murderers planned it that way? They were big fans of the original Doom and Wolfenstein.
@K1NG EV1L: Really? See - I liked the *idea* of it, but it was just so fugly, I couldn't enjoy it like I wanted. And you can't save mid-battle, can you? Valkyria Chronicles has totally spoiled me.
@mixmastermind: He was, and the smoking of weed on this day is a direct celebration of Hitler. By smoking weed today you're celebrating the fact that dozens of millions of people were violently killed. How can you live with yourself?
There is no American version of Innocent Sin. The Hitler fight is one of the reasons why people think Atlus never brought it over. We got the second Persona 2 game, Eternal Punishment, instead.
@Captain Pretty Good: Yeah, pretty much. Persona 2: Innocent Sin actually explains a lot of the crap in Persona 2: Eternal Punishment that would leave you scratching your head, which makes it even worse that it hasn't been brought over here... (at least, until Atlus re-releases it on the PSP.)
@styl3s: Yeah, "Celebrate" and "Hitler" shouldn't go in the same sentence. Ever. It would be better if there to remember and study what happened so it doesn't occur again.
@patapon: People seem to forget the atrocities were perpetrated by his high ranking officers and their subordinates. And the "Final Solution" itself was thought up and put into execution by Himmler, not Hitler.
Plus more than 6 million people died. People also forget the blacks, homosexuals, political dissidents, Gypsies, disabled, etc. were all part of those exterminated too.
I would like to point out that Stalin murdered over 6 million people and yet he's been quite underrepresented in the gaming community compared to Hitler. Hopeful the up-incoming "Stalin vs Martians" game will decrease the gap between number killed and times killed.
@Duin: The final solution could have been avoided if Hitler just said no. But when it came to Hitler's goal of a 'perfect' Germany, what could he have done? No one was taking in the Jews, blacks, homos, etc.
@Kobun: Um... You do know Stalin has a very prominent mustache right? May not be as notable as the Chaplin look, but it's still one thing he's known for.
@Duin: Ah, you're right about people only learning "Hitler = Evil." Himmler was a horrible person indeed though, but as you said, all of his goons were.
Y'know, I've always wondered how Hitler got away with spouting off those ideals to all those Germans, without being questioned about his own appearance and background.
As much as I hate the whole Nazi movement and everything that revolves around it, Hitler and Goebbels were quite the hype-men.
Also, do you enjoy history or is this just a WWII thing?
@Duin: That's just it. Stalin sports an everyman moustache. If you saw Stalin on the street, you could assume he was a firefighter, an older gay man, or part of Mythbusters. He'd blend right now. You can't do that with the Hitler. Even Mr. Pitt couldn't get away with it.
@an skyline: I have a love for all world history. It's the things that have shaped the very world around us, and by knowing more about our past we can have a better understanding of our present, from which we can shape a better future.
World War II is possibly my greatest interest though, considering it was the biggest conflict in human history. Which is still affecting our lives to this day.
I think more people should take a greater interest in history.

Wrong. He's erased from time in the opening cutscene, so it's not like you get to go kill him.

At least now I know why Snoopy vs. the Red Baron was never released here. Glad I imported a PSP copy (controls are crap though unfortunately).

I have read an obscene amount of WWII history and still enjoyed shooting him in the face in Wolfenstein 3d...

Because if you do, your ass will be dying that amount and then some

But yeah, Hitler, bad, bad guy.

All he could have done was kill them off.
Hitler is still a giant douche bag though.

I was just trying to spread some friendly World War II knowledge.
People seem to only learn "Hitler = Evil" anymore, and don't learn about his cadre of morons, who were just as responsible if not moreso.
Himmler especially.
