God that's a sexy red.
I'm guessing Nintendo just tapped into the previously unnaccounted for 'horny gamers' market, what with Love Plus selling stupid numbers aswell.

The question before it launched was "do we really need another DS?) The piechart says "yes." There was a time I when I would be happy for Nintendo for having this kind of success. Now, I'm not so sure.
"sigh" can we just get a Nintendo portable that's basically a mini Gamecube? I think I've about had it with the DS.
Still waiting for a high quality Kula. All the ones I've seen are either made like American-style poseable action figures, or based on her dreadful "Another" costume in KOF:MI.
If I could find a Kula of this quality, I would gladly pay $90+. I'm dead serious.
@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: I personally liked XII, even though none of my favorite characters were in it. I just made new favorites. Namely, Clark.
Still wasn't as good as KOFXI, but that's a hard act to follow. At least it was pretty well balanced.
@the7k: My biggest issue is playability.
The visuals get in the way of the game.
A lot of characters, if not all, cast a ridiculous amount of shadows on themselves making their silhouettes difficult to even make out and follow in an actual fight. Also the stage lighting obscures them even more. I remember that really orange one making them blend into the background so much that I lost my own character most of the time, let alone my opponent.
@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: 12 destroyed the series. They put no effort into the game. And the cast was poorly chosen. No Mai, Vanessa, King, K, Duck, Max, Vice, Mary, Tizok, Mr Big, Gato, Whip, Kula, Rock etc...the list goes on. They even released the list of the original cast that was to go in 12 before they forgot how to plan a game and spent too much time faking lighting that annoys people. The Chinese stage with the super dark right hand corner... No special intros/ intros, no taunts, no endings, no boss, no way to back out menus, no multi specials no moves... characters used to have 5+ pages of moves! We got 2 moves and 1 super, no multi super bars, no teams, poorly chosen cast, horrible interface design, bad netcode, the list goes on. 11 was million times better than 12. I will never buy another snk product after that epic fail...
@aang001: Good, more SNK products for me. Even though KOFXII was not as good as XI, it is still about a thousand times better than KOF2001. Seriously, play 2001 and then try to tell me that XII is that bad.
Yeah, it sucks that a lot of characters and moves are missing. Wanna know the truth? It's kinda necessary to keep the move list and character roster down in order to keep the game balanced. And the game is balanced. It's practically the Virtua Fighter of 2D fighters.
The only thing KOFXII didn't have that would have made it even more popular than the rest of the sorry assortment of modern 2D fighters we have (2D fighting renaissance, my ass) is tag team. That, and a better netcode, but I'd think that if games like Tekken 6 and Soul Calibur IV can get away with crappy netcode, KOFXII could as well.

I know Nintendo always manage to rake in the sales with their hand helds. But even I didn't think the DSi LL would push this many units, this fast.

Hmm. I think Sophitia (SoulCalibur) has children. There's Sindel, from Mortal Kombat ...

True, but bean (thread creator) was talking about fighting-game moms only. Sorry!

Ah. I'm not hugely familiar with Virtua Fighter. Sorry!

Vanessa is a great character. Its about time that she started to get a little love.
Very fun to play with an also pretty cool as well (also, damn sexy!).
Good stuff!

I get that Mai is super hot, but I don't know if she deserves to totally dominate KoF merch.

That's gonna be awesome.

I really doubt that's what the final version will look like. Her mid section is waaay too screwed up.
There's this custom job, but, meh, one of and it looks like a modded Barbie. [kotaku.com]

Though thats not to say XII would be any good at that point but I'd at least have SOMEONE I liked.
