Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus and Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee are a too-good-to-pass-up 75% off. Purchased together, the pair can be had for $3.75 USD. Exactly. Chump change!

Lesser, but still valuable savings can be had on the indie catalog, which includes titles like The Maw, Zeno Clash and the brand-new-to-Steam Space Giraffe. Not too shabby!

<![CDATA[Lorne Lanning Vaguely Talks Hollywood CG Film Project]]> Last we heard, Oddworld creator Lorne Lanning had inked a deal with Hollywood to bring his vision, sci-fi actioner Citizen Seige, to life in a CG flick.

What happened? Lanning tells Gamasutra's Brandon Sheffield: "We’ve got the Citizen Siege film in development. And we now have an even better idea of why they call it 'development hell.'" So, sounds like not much has moved forward with that — but, in the same breath, Lanning adds:

e’ve still got secrecy around another "Hollywood meets gaming" project that we’re very excited about, and while it's taken us a while, we’re also working on something new for Oddworld.

We still don’t want to get into any details on at this time but from my previous answers you’ll likely have an idea for where all this is heading.

<![CDATA[Playboy's Jo Garcia Game Regrets]]> Playboy's Jo Garcia is one of us: A gamer. She first let us know that back in May and does it again in a recent interview. When asked if there were any games she regrets missing out on, Garcia answered:

Yes, there are many games that I regret missing, but the one that got me the most was Oddworld's first-person shooter that came out for the Xbox. I have been an Oddworld inhabitant since the first Oddworld Abe's Oddysee game, and followed it with Exoddus and Munch's Oddysee; I thought that that was where the great adventure ended. As it turns out, there was a hidden gem I didn't know about, Stranger's Wrath, which I found online, and now own to complete my collection. It may have been a regret at the beginning but I am a happy gamer now.

It's always nice to hear people talk about stuff they are passionate about in a straight forward, bullshit free manner — especially when they look good naked.

<![CDATA[Classic Oddworld Games Get Steamed]]> While we all wait — with breath that at least slightly baited — for news of the new Oddworld game, Valve's Doug Lombardi got in touch to tell us about the release of two of the earlier Oddworld games through Steam.

Poorly-spelled platforming classics Abe's Oddysee and Abe's Exoddus are now on the Steam network for a measly $9.99 a pop, with an "Oddworld Pack" featuring both games for $14.99.

For the first week, Steam subscribers can buy either or both titles at a special 10% discount. Which is nice.

<![CDATA[Lorne Lanning Says, Yes, There's A New Oddworld Game In Development]]> Oh. Turns out my urge to exercise caution last week was completely unnecessary. Oddworld Inhabitants boss Lorne Lanning has confirmed that, yes, a new Oddworld game is in development, and yes, Jeff Braun is working on it. Lanning had nothing else to add, not even a working title, so your imagination's going to need to fill in the gaps on its own.

<![CDATA[Is There A New Oddworld Game On The Way?]]> Could be. Speaking at Wilfrid Laurier University in Canada, Jeff Braun, co-founder of Maxis, announced that he's working with Oddworld Inhabitants on a new Oddworld title. Thing is, Oddworld Inhabitants cut out internal game development years ago, and CordWeekly, the university's paper reporting on his talk, didn't provide any further details on the specifics of the announcement. Are EA (or somebody else) taking over development of the series (they only published Stranger's Wrath)? Is this meant to tie-in with Oddworld's movie project, Citizen Siege? Who knows. And until we know more, Oddworld fans might want to keep their kickers untwisted.

<![CDATA[New Game And CG Movie From Oddworld Dude]]>

Hooray! Oddworld creator Lorne Lanning (decapitated head in photo) and his studio Oddworld Inhabitants is poised to make us extremely happy with an all new property called Citizen Siege, which will come in game and CG film incarnations.

Alleviating fears somewhat, Lanning himself will direct the flick. It will also be produced by John H. Williams (Shrek). The game is being shopped around currently.

Citizen Siege was conceived as a game and film from the very beginning... Oddworld has had the chance to create original property that was designed as a film and as a game experience simultaneously. So the two influence one another as they grow. This is an idea that's being talked about by media companies, but for the most part isn't really happening yet... But it was a big risk and we had to willing to take that risk and afford ourselves the time to really go for it.

Thank gawd.
