Totally loved this game, totally love GOG. Now the synergy effect make me love'm even a bit more.
It's interesting how this game has gotten itself such a devoted following, even though it didn't really become a great hit financially (from what I remember). There's still a ton of folks out them who love it (present!).
I recall seeing post on Abe's Oddysee ported on ZX Spectrum here on Kotaku and writing a post on it on my blog later on. Then there was this Jo Garcia girl, too. Other than that, I have the PSX port of Abe's Oddysee converted to eboot on my PSP and can carry it around in my pocket, how cool is that?
(Note: I have the original.)
As for Lorne Lanning, as far as I know, he is now making a movie called Citizen Siege, and is thinking about going back to developing games. I think I saw that in some interview or other.
Abe's Oddysee was and is one of my favorites. I was probably the only person in the world who bought the original Xbox just to keep playing the series with the equally excellent Munch's Oddysee. Oddworld is a system seller for me. If they make another one following the Munch/Abe story (Stranger's Wrath was a fun game, but didn't add up for me) for say, the PS3, I'd be at the store with wallet open for a new PS3 and a copy of the game.
I might have to check this out as I never had this title. Or any Oddworld title for that matter. My most enduring memory of the series is probably the rather noteworthy switcheroo that led to Munch's Odyssey being published as an Xbox exclusive.
Funny, I re-installed both of the first games the other day. Haven't gotten around to playing them, but oh dear, the memories all came back. Sweet, sweet games.

Also, if you are (like me me and Sloopydrew up there) a fan of Oddworld Inhabitants, then know that the artbook Art of Oddworld has been put on Google Books and good parts of it are viewable online.
My, this is a long post.
