Click on the link below, but beware of the theme song, which can only be described as Japanese hair metal meets Irish folk music meets I-don't-know-what-the-fuck.

No, we take that back. Blast this music from your computer. The Last Rebellion will rock your PS3 off this fall. The website's source code has "left for three months" in the source code if that means anything.

<![CDATA[Which Cross Edge Costume Do You Like Best?]]> PS3 role-playing-game Cross Edge features characters from game players Capcom, Gust, Idea Factory, Namco Bandai and Ippon Ichi in turned-based battles and cosplaying.

The game is peppered with characters from Ar tonelico, Atelier Iris, Darkstalkers, Disgaea, Spectral Souls and Mana-Khemia 2.

To gear up for the game's North American release this May, NIS America is running a Cross Edge contest. Even if you don't want to participate, it's neat just to check out the different costume designs. Which is your favorite?

<![CDATA[The Giant Prinny And The Prinnymobile]]> Last night in San Francisco NIS America held a special party for their upcoming PSP game Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero?, featuring a giant drunken Prinny and the incredibly sexy Prinnymobile.

G4 has several photos of the giant Prinny in the wild, ordering drinks, bothering marketing executives, and just generally doing the sort of things Prinnies are apt to do when lacking the proper, scantily clad demoness authority figure. Eventually they got the rogue creature under control using the time-tested method of tearing apart its body and stuffing it in a giant garbage bag.

Speaking as Kotaku's biggest Disgaea fan, the only thing I crave more than my own giant Prinny costume is the Prinny-branded Toyota Scion parked outside the event.

Hit up the link below for 16 more photos of the misbehaving undead bird creature.

<![CDATA[Disgaea 3 Trailer (Now In English!)]]>
Disgaea 3's due in, oh, a couple of months in the US, but you wouldn't know it from how quiet everyone's been. What, no hype left for Nippon Ichi and Disgaea? No love for Stupid Hard Levels? For switching seats with classmates? Come ooooooonnnn. Maybe this English-language trailer for the game will get you in the mood for throws, and Prinnies, and combat of a tactical nature.

<![CDATA[Some Disgaea DS Details revealed]]> The folks at CrispyGamer got a chance to corner NIS America's PR Manager Jack Niida to talk a bit about the much anticipated release of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness on the DS. It's a short interview, but there is some interesting information in there including some talk of the game appearing on other consoles. Since the game will probably mostly be purchased by fans of the franchise, the obvious question would be, what's new?

The main feature of Disgaea DS is the multi-player mode. Fans that are tired of the original can still get a kick out of this game by destroying their buddy's Laharl and Etna...

The intuitive stylus controls and dual screen is a huge plus, but there are newly added features and characters from our past titles, so there is still a lot of oomph left in this game.

Niida goes on to mention that this version of the game will include everything from the PSP version plus extra content. For Digaea fans this should prove to quite interesting news.

<![CDATA[Famitsu Confirms Disgaea DS]]> The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has been poked and prodded by the folks at Akayuki.com, revealing a game that's been rumored since the middle of last year, Disgaea for the Nintendo DS. According to the translator the game is titled Disgaea DS: Prince...and that's all we've got. Simply an announcement that the game exists. No screens, no interesting tidbits, and no telling if the prince in question is Laharl or the aging pop sensation. I'm sure that most Disgaea fans are with me when I say that just knowing it's coming is enough...for now.

<![CDATA[Extended Disgaea 3 Trailer Of Power]]> If I could be called a fanboy of anything, Disgaea is that something, to the point where I would proudly pay $30 for a game called "Etna Sits On Your Screen And Blinks Every Now And Then". Luckily for me, Nippon Ichi hasn't figured this out yet, and still insists on releasing full games with 9,999 levels of adorable strategy RPG goodness. The announcer in this extended Japanese trailer for Disgaea 3 shares my enthusiasm. If I ever learn to speak fluent Japanese I will be terribly disappointed if I don't sound exactly like him. As it stands I actually plan on importing the game when it comes out late next month, and then bugging the hell out of Ashcraft for translations every couple of minutes.]]> http://kotaku.com/index.php?op=postcommentfeed&postId=333377&view=rss&microfeed=true <![CDATA[NIS America Bringing Puzzle Game]]> Say "Nippon Ichi Software" turned-based strategy games come to mind that have made the Japanese developer. NIS created an American arm (NIS America) to help localize games like Disgaea. But what else does the subsidiary do? Next February, it's bringing over Jaleco puzzle game Puchi Puchi Virus. Says NIS America president Haru Akenaga:

Our core audience will remain the same, but we will also appeal to the information rich yet time poor casual gamers with unique and distinctive titles.

M'kay. You do that. Full press release reading fun after the jump!

Santa Ana, CA - NIS America announces its first puzzle game, Puchi Puchi Virus™ for the Nintendo DS™. Puchi Puchi Virus™ will be localized by a new team within NIS America to fulfill an emerging group of gamers. "Our core audience will remain the same, but we will also appeal to the information rich yet time poor casual gamers with unique and distinctive titles." says Haru Akenaga, president of NIS America.

About Puchi Puchi Virus™

Puchi Puchi Virus™ does not resemble the ordinary puzzle game. The usual "object drop" style was replaced with a more intuitive system of "object linkage". Its simple design and surprisingly in-depth game play can addict even the most demanding puzzle game enthusiasts. The object is to form at least a single triangle formation by linking viruses together and erasing them from the screen. Victory conditions vary from mission to mission, but erasing all of the viruses will be the fundamental rule of this game. Erase all the viruses and you win, but if the screen gets filled with the emerging viruses you lose. Note: there is a twist to this
system that gives depth to the game play. Viruses turn to stone if left alone for a while, which cannot be selected to form a triangle. However, these stones can be erased if they are within a triangle that you create. With a little luck and practice players can rake in massive points by letting viruses turn to stone and erasing them all at once.

RELEASE DATE: February 2008
PLATFORM: Nintendo DS™
GENRE: Puzzle
PLAYER(S): 2

<![CDATA[Disgaea Heading To The DS?]]>

If a recent interview by RPGamer with NIS America is accurate, it will be. The interview, which consisted of reader and interviewer questions posed to Nao Zook, a NIS America rep, went over many points, manygeared toward what popular Japanese franchises might get localized. When asked what franchises NIS themselves would like to see brought stateside, Zook responded with the personal picks of some of NISs localization team with titles like Super Robot Wars, Suikoden 1+2 and Popolocrois. One clever reader, however, got straight to the point.

(Reader Question) Any chance of Disgaea on the Nintendo DS? Nao: Let me just say this... you can look forward to it!

It's rare we hear such a straight answer like that coming from a rep. So, if you're a Disgaea fan and a DS owner, it looks like you'll have something to look forward to.
